To people who are currently considering getting a Spectre laptop. I currently own a HP Spectre (the 14in version with i7-1165G7) as my secondary machine (I also have a desktop). I've never noticed the screen wobbling and the screen glossiness isn't that bad. I can recommend the Spectre lineup for pretty much anything except for heavy gaming or heavy video editing. It seems to be the best convertible on the market (only my opinion) for productivity AND portability.

Higher fps is not possible. Is that the only problem with gaming? Or is there heating issue while prolonged gaming?

    • @fleroner8801

@@akhilalexg Some games do not even support Intel Iris Xe graphics, but there is also a lot of heat (and throttling) when gaming even for a short period of time. It does just fine when playing some not-so-heavy games (for example Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Cities Skylines even), but when you try to play Just Cause 3, it just doesn't even try to open it. I haven't played any other games on it (Melvor Idle, but that is just a very simple game).

Most expensive Spectre x360 16 is the 32GB model.
I'm such an "HP" guy for years, but with the 11th gen 4 core i7 in this Spectre x360 16, that's a real concern for me. I use Zbook 17, with onboard Quadro and eGPU RTX A5000, as well as the Z820.
At the moment, I'm waiting to see how ASUS ROG Flow Z13 will come up in the next few months.
One very good thing about this Spectre is, its OLED DCI-P3 100% display. It matches my Dreamcolor display though.
Really appreciate the video, Matt 👍

Not sure why a) companies are still releasing 11th gen items as new product as they are now OBE, and b) matt is reviewing them. I'd be solely focusing on 12th gen now since it's such a gigantic leap in speed and processing "the new hotness" and 11th gen is, "old and busted".. Then again, I'm not doing reviews. ;)

This laptop with the newest processors is something that can be way to good even for this price tag. Just imagine, 12th series Intel with the efficiency cores, or Ryzen 6000 U series, plus the same GPU or even a 3050TI woaaa. A 120hz refresh rate screen is just a desirable plus, but not necessarily a must for this kind of product. The future version of this looks promising.

    • @noneofyourbusiness6100
      @noneofyourbusiness6100 2 роки тому

Wrong. 12th Gen won't have better battery life which is why Intel is not promoting it. Also, single-core performance is not a big upgrade but multi-core performance will be a HUGE upgrade. Anyway, for basic office and school work there is no reason to wait for 12th Gen...

I was going to get a Surface Pro 8 but now i'm considering a laptop. I just need it for everyday use plus editing my art in Photoshop so i'd like to be able to connect it to a monitor and use it as a "desktop PC". Then someone suggested a Surface Pro 7 i5 would be just as good as the 8. Should I get a 2 in 1 laptop instead? No idea and i'm drowning in UA-cam video reviews.

So should I buy this HP, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio or another 2-1 laptop?
I'm looking for a Windows laptop that has a bit of everything: it needs to have a touchscreen with stylus, for I'm already used to it, and I like take notes with a stylus and draw a little...
But it also needs to handle some heavier gaming and photo or video editing.
And I prefer a more aesthetic look, like this HP and the Surface Studio, being slim and easy to carry around...

The better one is what we have on (sadly) Lenovo, 6 keys together, but some manufacturers still save one dollar on their size (too small) and looks this will not change for the next year, till the next CES.

I'm looking at a laptop that can run 4 monitors and from first glance I would be able to connect to the two thunderbolts easy (with a dock) on a HP Spectre. I have a HP split x 2 which is very temperamental. I can't adjust the screen because it becomes laggy at a certain angle so I just used it to connect to my TV for browsing and watching YT. Now the cooling unit stopped working and it's very noisy so I'm not using it anymore.
I have a Lenovo x220i where the screen cracked because I dropped it. However, it still runs properly and I'm using it to run two 24" monitors for reading books and documents. I'm just bummed that I can't carry it with to use because of the badly cracked screen.
Now I need a laptop for when I'm out and about because my Surface Pro 3 and also run at least 2 monitors when I'm home for trading purposes. The HP Spectre looks really promising because of the combination of power, battery life and the 2 thunderbolt ports. But my bad experience with a HP laptop makes me hesitant. I'll probably end up with another Lenovo.

Nothing in the box and even referencing the User Guide online, it does not cover how to charge it. I don't understand why there is no information on how to use this device, or why I have to hunt for this information on the internet. my impression is HP feels all users are familiar enough with device to figure it out. This is the first video/source I found that start to cover even how to charge the pen. Super disappointed in HP's lack of available information on how to operate this device. one thing i noticed, you seem to throw me off with your choice of conjunctions.
You were talking about how the screen is reflective then you said "BUT it does come with the pen".
How is that related? I was expecting something good out of the reflective screen. Or a solution. Like "BUT if you turn the screen brightness higher, you have less reflection".
Then you talked about the drawing experience saying it is good, followed by saying "like you're not gonna have a low latency liike ipad pro, it does have a 120hz display, this is 60 hz". The conjunction here "like" made me think you are going to give a supporting statement to say why it is good. I was thinking, how is having a lower screen rate of 60 gonna be better than ipadpro which is 120hz??
Then again, right after this, you said "SO.. i think it is a fantastic pen..." right after saying why it is worse than the ipad pro.
Your conjunctions are all wrong dude. It was so confusing, i had to rewind a few times just to make sure i am on the same page as you. Trying to figure out whether you are trying to say it is good or not.

I just picked this one up..it’s great ..I had the last SPECTRE THE 15.. the fans turned on a lot more..it did run hot a lot ..the pictures quality is great ..I use it for work ..does everything I need above average …the keyboard is definitely improved from the last model ..they took the number keypad on the lower right out.. also ..just think the overall sleek look of the HP SPECTRE is a big selling point ..even with the finger prints on the top..I think for a 2 & 1 it has to be near the top of the list in efficiency..price..and overall performance with other 2 &1’s in its class!!…2 thumbs up for me !!

@@florider_hd a 4k display in a laptop is just unnecessary imo, almost a gimmick. Personally i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 2k and 4k display in laptops...or maybe i'm just blind but either way 2k usd is far too much for it. Also, the pen support shouldn't be a key feature at all with this price tag, it should be expected to already be there.

@@J3R0M77 yep. It is completely unnecessary. But that is one aspect of why it is so expensive. Also a 3050 is unnecessary in a laptop that targets mostly students (pen input)
Windows already eats up Battery like crazy (a lot of my classmates use Surface devices and barely get through the day) a 3050 certainly doesn't make that better.

Yeah, they try to sell you a last gen quadcore with soldered ram for two thousand bucks. Why didn't they put i7-1280P or 5800U here? They are absurdly more performant & draw less power & have better battery life, which is really important for business and any laptop in general.

    • @noneofyourbusiness6100

Wrong! Intel has refused to release any information on battery life for their new 12th gen processors. So battery life is not an improvement.
Also, there is not a big difference between single-core performance. There is ha big improvement in multi-core performance.

You know its bad when most people, even artists, just opt for an iPad as a second device regardless of their main computer OS, despite being limited to Procreate and CSP.

Such a big laptop and only 1 USB-A!?..... If it is focused on productivity users then such users will need 2 USB-A (mouse and keyboard). Until all such accessories can be connected via USB-C or through a stable BT connection (my logitech 575 ergonomic mouse does not hold a stable BT connection and my plum niz keyboard requires a USB-A dongle to operate).
