To people who are currently considering getting a Spectre laptop. I currently own a HP Spectre (the 14in version with i7-1165G7) as my secondary machine (I also have a desktop). I've never noticed the screen wobbling and the screen glossiness isn't that bad. I can recommend the Spectre lineup for pretty much anything except for heavy gaming or heavy video editing. It seems to be the best convertible on the market (only my opinion) for productivity AND portability.

A 120hz refresh rate screen is just a desirable plus, but not necessarily a must for this kind of product. The future version of this looks promising.
Wrong. 12th Gen won't have better battery life which is why Intel is not promoting it. Also, single-core performance is not a big upgrade but multi-core performance will be a HUGE upgrade. Anyway, for basic office and school work there is no reason to wait for 12th Gen...
I think HP should have waited for 12th gen and also wait for the USC type C that allows more wattage and that would have allowed it to have more space and also maybe raised the Brightness to at least 700 nits now that apple set a new bar with the 1000 nits full screen

HP sales team told me it doesn’t belong to their Business lineup, however they couldn’t really tell me why i shouldnt use it for that.
I was going to get a Surface Pro 8 but now i'm considering a laptop. I just need it for everyday use plus editing my art in Photoshop so i'd like to be able to connect it to a monitor and use it as a "desktop PC". Then someone suggested a Surface Pro 7 i5 would be just as good as the 8. Should I get a 2 in 1 laptop instead? No idea and i'm drowning in UA-cam video reviews.

The better one is what we have on (sadly) Lenovo, 6 keys together, but some manufacturers still save one dollar on their size (too small) and looks this will not change for the next year, till the next CES.
I got the HP Omen 17 2021 version for multitasking and well for gaming BUT I think my next upgrade will be this HP Spectre 16, mainly to watch movies on a bigger tablet and do other stuff.

Now my keyboard is going out in addition to other periodic issues with the machine, and I'm thinking about upgrading but it seems like everyone still recommends a spectre. Has it improved drastically in the last 3 years?
The effects of long term use is exactly what's keeping me from jumping into it and just buy a 2 in 1 laptop. They seem to work perfectly for the first year or so but you won't know about the performance after that. .-. .... And there just aren't enough long term reviews about these laptops...
I'm looking at a laptop that can run 4 monitors and from first glance I would be able to connect to the two thunderbolts easy (with a dock) on a HP Spectre. I have a HP split x 2 which is very temperamental. I can't adjust the screen because it becomes laggy at a certain angle so I just used it to connect to my TV for browsing and watching YT. Now the cooling unit stopped working and it's very noisy so I'm not using it anymore. I have a Lenovo x220i where the screen cracked because I dropped it. However, it still runs properly and I'm using it to run two 24" monitors for reading books and documents. I'm just bummed that I can't carry it with to use because of the badly cracked screen. Now I need a laptop for when I'm out and about because my Surface Pro 3 and also run at least 2 monitors when I'm home for trading purposes. The HP Spectre looks really promising because of the combination of power, battery life and the 2 thunderbolt ports. But my bad experience with a HP laptop makes me hesitant. I just picked this one up..it’s great ..I had the last SPECTRE THE 15.. the fans turned on a lot more..it did run hot a lot ..the pictures quality is great ..I use it for work ..does everything I need above average …the keyboard is definitely improved from the last model ..they took the number keypad on the lower right out.. also ..just think the overall sleek look of the HP SPECTRE is a big selling point ..even with the finger prints on the top..I think for a 2 & 1 it has to be near the top of the list in efficiency..price..and overall performance with other 2 &1’s in its class!!…2 thumbs up for me !!
So does this mean spectre x360 doesn't come with the number keypad? I've been looking to buy one with the number keypad like the old one but the haven't found one yet.

@@florider_hd a 4k display in a laptop is just unnecessary imo, almost a gimmick. Personally i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 2k and 4k display in laptops...or maybe i'm just blind but either way 2k usd is far too much for it. Also, the pen support shouldn't be a key feature at all with this price tag, it should be expected to already be there.
@@J3R0M77 yep. It is completely unnecessary. But that is one aspect of why it is so expensive. Currently, i am using the 2020 Spectre x360 13' model. I am not too happy with the battery. All others are ok. Is this model a good upgrade or you have other brand/model to recommend for an upgrade?
Yeah, they try to sell you a last gen quadcore with soldered ram for two thousand bucks. Why didn't they put i7-1280P or 5800U here? They are absurdly more performant & draw less power & have better battery life, which is really important for business and any laptop in general.
Wrong! Intel has refused to release any information on battery life for their new 12th gen processors. So battery life is not an improvement. Also, there is not a big difference between single-core performance. There is ha big improvement in multi-core performance.
Sad that Samsung is still the only company to make a 2 in 1 with a good stylus. Everything else is barely passable for notes/documents. You know its bad when most people, even artists, just opt for an iPad as a second device regardless of their main computer OS, despite being limited to Procreate and CSP.
Warning, Warning, iTroll Alert. Only Apple people are dumb enough to buy two devices, a tablet and a laptop. Every rational person just buys a touchscreen laptop with pen support or a computer-tablet...

Such a big laptop and only 1 USB-A!?..... If it is focused on productivity users then such users will need 2 USB-A (mouse and keyboard). Until all such accessories can be connected via USB-C or through a stable BT connection (my logitech 575 ergonomic mouse does not hold a stable BT connection and my plum niz keyboard requires a USB-A dongle to operate). Therefore 2 USB-A are a deal breaker for me. I'm looking at the new Lenovo slim7 pro X as my next work laptop to replace my aging Dell XPS13 9360 (last XPS with 2 USB-A).
I just don't understand the fingerprint sensor's placement, or I should rather say the omission of the right Ctrl button. If you do a lot of typing, you know how integral it is to word selection and navigating a text document.

Does the laptop charge with a type c charger, and does it come with the charger
Yes it comes with a charger but it's not a Type-C charger. However, you can use one if you want to.
How does the hinge on this compare to the ROG x16? Looking for a good 2in1 for note taking and CAD in engineering.
I'm just ask you
can you create videos with 60fps it's look so smooth
I love to see intel 12th gen CPU and amd new 6000 cpu
Hello does anyone know when the asus g14(2022) will be available to buy?
Or when it's available to pre-order
probably april
Should I go for this or the old 2021 one ?
I would really love if you did the ASUS Vivobook 16X OLED
Sorry but the fans DO NOT turn on a lot. You probably don't even know that there are different power modes...lol
Hi, do you see tiny dots on your screen when it's white? They are not visible with a black background. Idk if it's due to the oled panel.
So does this mean spectre x360 doesn't come with the number keypad?
I've been looking to buy one with the number keypad like the old one but the haven't found one yet.
I have a convertible laptop from Lenovo and there is no wobble on the hinge. I've had the laptop for years and still no wobble.
Thanks HP but its a dealbreaker for me.
Tent mode ftw
2000 bucks for a 60 hz non anti glare rtx 3050 11th gen i7. No, thanks
4k touch panel with pen support.
Still a lot of money though
@@florider_hd a 4k display in a laptop is just unnecessary imo, almost a gimmick. Personally i wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 2k and 4k display in laptops...or maybe i'm just blind but either way 2k usd is far too much for it. Also, the pen support shouldn't be a key feature at all with this price tag, it should be expected to already be there.
@@J3R0M77 yep. It is completely unnecessary. But that is one aspect of why it is so expensive. Also a 3050 is unnecessary in a laptop that targets mostly students (pen input)
Windows already eats up Battery like crazy (a lot of my classmates use Surface devices and barely get through the day) a 3050 certainly doesn't make that better.
@@J3R0M77 a 4K display for a 16 inch is needed if you do number crunching or a lot of text writing. I went from 1080p to 4K in a 15” size and i couldn’t go back can fit so much more on the screen makes doing work easier. I have the 2020 spectre with the 10750h and 1650ti the gpu when not being used draws no power it’s literally shut off.
@@malavpatel77 bro, i am planning to buy this. Is it worth considering the facts they are saying? Am going to do my master in design (Mechanical)
Nice video Matthew👍
Thank you !
X360 16" V XPS 15 what is the better buy?
Currently, i am using the 2020 Spectre x360 13' model.
I am not too happy with the battery. All others are ok.
Is this model a good upgrade or you have other brand/model to recommend for an upgrade?
Is this laptop good for architecture?
Does it work good on (Solid works) ?
Yeah, they try to sell you a last gen quadcore with soldered ram for two thousand bucks. Why didn't they put i7-1280P or 5800U here? They are absurdly more performant & draw less power & have better battery life, which is really important for business and any laptop in general.
Wrong! Intel has refused to release any information on battery life for their new 12th gen processors. So battery life is not an improvement.
Also, there is not a big difference between single-core performance. There is ha big improvement in multi-core performance.
Is it good for gaming??
Can you share what you’re writing with the stylus in Notes when on Zoom?
Could this laptop be used for a premed student? I like the 2-1 aspect for taking notes.
Probably a bit unnecessarily big I would have thought 13" or smaller would be better for that
How is it for graphics design?
I watch this mostly for the sticker war
So much corruption and violence. I should dedicate a whole video to it
everything is great, design, build, spec
except the sure-view that ruin the great screen view angle even turned off
Would i be able to run 3 (24-inch) monitors off of this to use at my desk?
Waiting for your M16 2022 review
Sad that Samsung is still the only company to make a 2 in 1 with a good stylus. Everything else is barely passable for notes/documents. You know its bad when most people, even artists, just opt for an iPad as a second device regardless of their main computer OS, despite being limited to Procreate and CSP.
Microsoft?
Warning, Warning, iTroll Alert. Only Apple people are dumb enough to buy two devices, a tablet and a laptop.
Every rational person just buys a touchscreen laptop with pen support or a computer-tablet...
Worst release date ever. Maybe would have been worth it with one of those Alder Lake chips but not with a damn quad core in 2022.
TY... good info.
Glad it was helpful!
I personally prefer the older gem-cut design...
this half rounded look isn't right
In person, its gorgeous. Just got mine. The older sharper edges litterally were too sharp and hurt.
@@BlackCeII i am with MSK... i've never got myself cut by the edges
@@fashpg obviously it's not sharp enough to actually cut, but in tablet mode is quite uncomfortable. The new one is much more comfortable in tablet mode. You can't tell this from a video, you have to hold in person
I ordered mine about a month ago for architecture school and I can’t wait to get my hands on it 😩
Such a big laptop and only 1 USB-A!?.....
I was about to be disappointed in buying the zephyrus g14 but then I saw the price and I was like he'll naw.
Does the lid and keyboard deck flex?
Thanks to this video, I am more informed
How's the battery on this if anyone has used it?
why resolution 3k?in past models was bean 4k
Is this laptop good for software dev??
What is the refresh rate on the non-OLED panel option?
Very disappointing they went with the last gen intel CPUs
This was released fall 2021, so that I is why
I just don't understand the fingerprint sensor's placement, or I should rather say the omission of the right Ctrl button. If you do a lot of typing, you know how integral it is to word selection and navigating a text document.
the 007 laptop
Anybody know when it’s coming to Germany, cuz I can’t find it anywhere here
dude... The screen wiggle....
Does latest Spectre have backlit for keyboard?
