- The historic Gilded Age mansion once owned by the Widener family is in need of repairs, but a nonprofit wants to make those changes and open it to the public.
I'm so glad that someone saw the absolute beauty of this home and decided to step in to save it! I learned about it on BrosofDecay and This House channels and I thought what a shame it was first to see it chopped up into classrooms and the ballroom being a chapel and second to see America lose a piece of its architectural history.
I grew up and still live about 10 mins from this place. Every time I drove past this place I was in awe. My wife and I sneak in there all of the time just to admire this work of art. As a matter a fact we snuck in again for the millionth time last month.
Yay Bros of Decay! Leslie and Danny! Congrats guys! And hooray for you! This is making me emotional.
This is fantastic. It will be a tourist site for sure.
So excited for this renovation!!!
Love this coverage!!. So glad to see the media taking notice!. Bravo! Channel 3!. ❣️ from Michigan!.
Thanks for The Best News Soo Happy this will be saved and people will be able to enjoy the house and property Please put more information out and where we can donate money to for restoration
We lived on Cheltenham Ave. on the Philadelphia side. If you went straight out our front door, you would see the Widner Estate. It's Grander than the White House.
Once finished, it should be a beauty.
Can’t wait to visit
Wow I see they have already made some headway compared to a video that is a few months older than this one. Massive undertaking, but it will be totally breath taking when finished. What a tragic story. 😓
I’d love to know who the silent investor was
There is a video on UA-cam from the proper people that have already videoed the interior
I would love to check the ground of this
They are gonna completely destroy the old grand character this mansion has, they will paint everything white and incorporate modern finishes, it’s gonna be nothing but this cheap modern crap everyone thinks is luxurious
@@tessax that’s what happened to The Adelphi Hotel in Saratoga NY sadly. Destroyed and upped the fees X’s 4 what they once were.
It would cost million s take years too renovation
The originals owners are rolling in their graves 😂
That woman REALLY needs to re-think her belt.
