…I have NO DOUBT his heart is in the right place…. But like many of us believers today, he’s adding context thats not initially there……. Sounds nice, sounds spiritually tough, but it’s out of context…. Reading/studying the word is what does all cleansing, purifying, renewing of the mind……… Anything we know about God today we know by reading and studying his word…..

Why are Christians baptised in water when John clearly says, “ but the one who will come AFTER me will baptise you with the holy spirit and fire” That’s Jesus. So when you are getting baptised is it in Johns name or Jesus. Because Jesus never baptised anyone in water.
Jesus did not baptized anyone but he was right there when his disciples baptized believers in water. If baptizing with water is not needed then why would Jesus did allow the disciples to do so..
And Jesus said to the nicodemus, you must be born of the spirit and water to enter the kingdom of God

What it's saying is a baptism ritual with water is just symbolic and achieves very little. The real baptism comes when you've given up your sins and the withdrawal depression hits. This is usually a year of hell but you become born again on the other side of it.
Very few willingly go there, they usually cling to worldly comforts, addictions and carry on repeating the same week.
If the ritual with water worked you could just have a load of drugs and alcohol then the next day just dunk yourself in the water and you'd be born again. It doesn't work like this. Similarly, a wedding ceremony will not ensure a lifelong relationship.
If God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent then why does he need humans to be baptised? With a wave of his hand he could make us all obedient and observant of his laws. Although not a god, I am against stoning of adulteress women (and not adulteress men) who may or have been adulterers. I am also against the killing of first born baby boys.
Because we have free will. Coercion is the devil’s method.
@@Black.Sabbath William Laine Craig, a noted Christian philosopher stated that God has the right to kill the innocent because when he does he rewards them with heaven. Therefore, according to Christians, God kills innocent people not just the devil. What BS.
