Hi, my technician always make the TPA active and I can’t seem to find out what or where was the mistake. Can you pls tell me which part of the fabrication may be faulty? Much appreciate your response.

When I’m finished bending the TPA, it rests passively in place. If your technician is having trouble doing that, the wire can be made passive by heating it to a dull red after soldering and letting it bench cool. Of course it will need to be polished to get the black off, but it will be passive. Too much heat will ruin the temper, leaving the wire soft with little elasticity. It’s best to just bend it passively then solder.

Please give me tips I can’t eat with the tpa and my arch is almost in the middle of my mouth not at the bottow

In most cases, the TPA should be only a couple of millimeters off the palatal tissue. If yours is like you say, either the doctor has a special reason for placing it there, or it was made incorrectly. I suggest you check with your doctor. Show him my video and ask why yours is different. Thanks for the question.

How can i make the tpa passive without soldering?

It should lay on the model passively before soldering. If not, keep making minor bends until it rests in position passively.

osman haydar this just takes practice. I suggest you keep practicing wire bending until you can make the wire remain in position passively. Keep making minor bends until the wire is properly positioned and passive.

Rulebreaker1995 I’m not a dentist; I’m a technician who fabricates the devises for dentists. I was just sharing feedback that I have heard over the years. You need to contact the doctor’s office that seated your appliance and tell them what’s going on.
