The management lack creativity. They release the newest handhelds just to be extension of ps5 lmaoo 😂😂 . And I'd say most ps Vita game that has online server still can compete with current mobile games in terms of fun. Meanwhile mobile only has genshin and tof.
I bought one still 😂 back then. And only now was able to make use of it with modding it for retro games. It got so boring since they didn’t make games for it. 😢 need for speed and fifa were my only games.
As fun need for speed was I had the better bigger racing games on the console 😂 we all did. Vita is only being recognized now because of the retro gaming capabilities but that’s it it’s still more uncomfortable than a switch. I retro gamed on my vita for a week then went back to my modded snes and nes. I’m at home or driving. I’m never being driven so I can play a handheld.

Having a PSP back then was like having Rolls Royce. If you had one, you knew it was just the greatest flex possible lol. I remember even customizing my own and making it look even cooler. Those things were amazing, and I never took it for granted. I would always say to myself whenever I had it “I’m so blessed and fortunate to be able to have this beauty in my hands” lol. What a wonderful console. It really innovated. If only Sony played their cards properly back then, the Vita probably would've sold more units than the PSP.
Sony mishandled it for sure (proprietary memory cards are inexcusable), but I honestly don't think it would've ever happened. The mobile phone market was too strong at the time and the Vita didn't have enough of a gimmick to make it worthwhile to the masses. It's a shame because it was a better machine in every way.
I got a Vita and modded it when I caught COVID May of 2020. It helped me through a time where I thought I was going to die. It’s one of the best handhelds out there no competition.

Still tinkering around with various setting to finish it off like different background and music as want it looking finished. It's a great UI.

I've had just about every portable game system at one point or another. About two years ago I had an incredible collection of game systems both home consoles and portables. I ran into financial trouble and had to sell everything but I kept my PSP 1000 with a copy of robots the movie on UMD for sentimental reasons (me and my little brother shared a PSP back in 06 and all we had for it was the robots movie and we watched it all the time together laying on the floor with it propped up against a wall. He is no longer with us. He passed back in 2016 at 17 years old just a couple months before his 18th birthday) and I kept a PSP Go so I can take it to work with me. Of all my consoles I had to sell (mind you everything was CIB and in excellent condition) I miss my Vita the most. Such a sleek little device that played my whole PSP collection as well as a few vita exclusives. I have far too many responsibilities to buy another one and not feel guilty about it but man I tell you I cannot wait until I can get another one. I kept my SD2VITA adapter as well as my micro SD card so when I do get another one, everything should still be intact.

PsVita thanks to its community has become one of the best handheld to have in 2023. They are even trying to bring back killzone mercenary multiplayer servers.
The PSVITA OLED was fantastic; I had mine modded with a 256GB SD card. It's a fantastic little gadget to have on hand for those moments of boredom, like in your car. Similarly, the Steam Deck OLED is also a great option, although it's significantly larger so it's limited in how convenient it is to bring outside the house. However, it can play PS2 games, Steam games, and even games from other platforms like the Switch and Wii. Which is quite convenient when just roaming the house.
This should've been PSVITA's truest potential, if Sony given it some good features. Like being backwards compatible to play PSP, and all the rest of the console generation of games.
I want a PS Vita but its hard to justify the purchase when i own a PSP, 3DS XL, and a Switch OLED which between the 3 i already have access to most of what i would play on the Vita. I still want one though, its such a beautiful handheld. Ill ptobably buy one.

I have a 3DS and a PS Vita, both consoles are amazing since by modifying them you can play hundreds of incredible games, The GTA Saga, the Zelda Saga, Mario, Hotline Miami, and the ports that respectively they come out for each console from the community. If you have the opportunity to acquire one or both, don't miss it. It guarantees you hundreds of hours of fun.

really? I actaully like my steam deck more than an Xbox controller it is really comfortable to me, ps vita is too small for me and the analog sticks aswell.
Even though I got a steamdeck with emudeck etc. The size and form factor of the vita makes it the perfect portable companion. Especially for roms. Did I mention the awesome battery life?
Looking it back now, they released the vita too early. If they released it the same time as the switch released the vita would be such a hit. The capabilities of it are so tremendous and just not lived its life enough in the ps3/ps4 era. They should re release it
Had they released the VITA alongside the Switch, the Switch would have eaten it up. VITA's watered down handheld games would have been buried by the big AAA Nintendo games they released in 2017 like Breath of The Wild, Mario Odyssey & Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Sadly, Sony will never go all in on their handhelds like Nintendo did with the Switch and Nintendo were forced to do that because of the failure of the Wii U. Nintendo merging their handheld and home console divisions was the key to the success of the Switch. That's why they could release 5 or 6 big games per year in the Switch's first few years on market. With Sony having to make games for the PS4 at the time, they just wouldn't be able to deliver the level of game to the VITA that fans would expect, had it come out with the Switch.
So crazy that 2023 the Vita STILL looks like a heavy switch competitor when the switch didn’t even exist 💀 this thing literally looks luxurious.

I have a 3DS and a PS Vita, both consoles are amazing since by modifying them you can play hundreds of incredible games, The GTA Saga, the Zelda Saga, Mario, Hotline Miami, and the ports that respectively they come out for each console from the community. If you have the opportunity to acquire one or both, don't miss it. It guarantees you hundreds of hours of fun.

I had a ps vita. I should’ve kept that thing. It’s a beautiful piece of tech. Way ahead of its time. Sony is on top with handhelds. I love the switch, but Vita was the handheld goat

modded my vita 5 years ago and I can tell modders have breathed life backed into the console within that time. Makes me wanna get it back out! Henkaku forever or sum 🙌

Gothe same vita(jailbroken) and it's the best. Considering how old it is, I call it the Rolls-Royce of handhelds of its time.

@@FootballBoy80 I got you, the name was mota37, paid $206. total. Right now one seller by the name of eddievstheworld has a psvita 1000 oled jailbroken for $225.00 or best offer. Others same price range or asking for more. Might have to buy low and jailbreak your self if you want to safe. They have videos on jailbreakin w/o computer usage.
If i had this exact setup 10 years ago i would have been in heaven. Now my Steam Deck makes all other handhelds obsolete.

PSVita is still today the most comfortable portable console to use. It's such a shame it didn't get any sells
really? I actaully like my steam deck more than an Xbox controller it is really comfortable to me, ps vita is too small for me and the analog sticks aswell.
@@adrianoawz2676 I second that. The analogs on the Vita are so small and uncomfortable my thumbs started to cramp.

Even though I got a steamdeck with emudeck etc. The size and form factor of the vita makes it the perfect portable companion. Especially for roms.

Looking it back now, they released the vita too early. If they released it the same time as the switch released the vita would be such a hit. The capabilities of it are so tremendous and just not lived its life enough in the ps3/ps4 era. They should re release it
Had they released the VITA alongside the Switch, the Switch would have eaten it up. VITA's watered down handheld games would have been buried by the big AAA Nintendo games they released in 2017 like Breath of The Wild, Mario Odyssey & Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Sadly, Sony will never go all in on their handhelds like Nintendo did with the Switch and Nintendo were forced to do that because of the failure of the Wii U.
Nintendo merging their handheld and home console divisions was the key to the success of the Switch. That's why they could release 5 or 6 big games per year in the Switch's first few years on market. With Sony having to make games for the PS4 at the time, they just wouldn't be able to deliver the level of game to the VITA that fans would expect, had it come out with the Switch.
