Just so you guys know, there’s a sequel to this song (Simply titled ‘White Vow’), where it’s shown that Miku truly loved Rin. Both as an angel and as Len. However, through the angel’s curse, it wiped out her memories of her and Rin. At the end of White Vow, Miku finally remembers Rin just as Rin disappeared. She laments for forgetting Rin, and promises to reunite with her someday, as shown through her own vow. A white vow.
In Black Vow, Rin believes that she must surrender herself to death in order to reunite with Miku. Since Miku, however, refuses to forget Rin and continues to love her, the fruit will never rot and renew. They will never be able to love one another again.

Personally, I've always seen one thing different from everyone else. I feel like Miku rejected Rin not because she didn't really love her, but because she was already betrothed. Anyone notice how guilty she looks in the pictures before Len shows up? She goes off with Len because his face reminds her of the angel that she misses now, no longer having the mindset to stay with her fiancee. Of course, that's just how I see it ^3^

I feel like this song may be a metaphor for being gay. The "forbidden love" wasn't between an angel and a human, it was between to girls, but the producer used a more complex storyline to cover that up and hide the true meaning of the song, but the whole song is a metaphor for gay relationships. That is why I love it so much.

Rin, filled with jealousy, killed him (scene with her hand on the gun). She made a deal with the devil, sacrificing one wing in return for her gender to be switched so their love can be allowed. Miku did fall for Len (Rin) and they had made plans to even marry (Flower ring). The Kaito part is all right as well as sacrificing her last wing for Miku's life back.

There are no "theories" because the story is laid out incredibly clearly. An angel fell in love with a human, which was forbidden, and in order to be with the human, the angel fell from grace and became the object of the human's desire and the two had relations. The angel had an angelic lover previously, however, and in a rage, he killed the human. The angel gave up her life in exchange for the life of the human and left behind a single feather.

At first it was.
Ten years ago, I watched this, still thinking I was straight. Today, after years of being partially out as bi, I watched it again.
It hits different. It hits harder, actually.
Okay, so Rin was an angel and fell in love with Miku. So Rin could be with Miku she opened "Pandora's box" and took the gun in that box to shoot Miku's hubby. Then, Rin made a deal with the devil to gender bend herself because Miku isn't a lesbian. Miku and "Len" instantly fall in love. An angel being with a human, Rin, and Miku not being loyal to her dead hubby angered the gods. As punishment, Kaito was sent to kill the sinful human Miku. "Len" loved Miku so much that "he" gave up "his" life to save Miku. Rin/Len died leaving behind a single DarK feather because he was a fallen angel for fallen in love with a human and gender bending with Satan's help. And I think that's it..
also, I realise it wasn't punishment from God but the angel that shot miku is just a vigilante that killed her for stealing his love :P
I don't think Rin killed Kaito (or Gakupo or whoever he is) I.E Miku's fiance. I think Miku met Rin/Len on her wedding day and abandoned Kaito at the alter, so he was naturally upset and wanted revenge. I don't know why he has wings, maybe he killed himself or also made a contract with the devil or its just symbolism or something... But I don't think Rin killed him. He just wanted revenge on Miku for leaving him

Well, in this video, Miku isn't necessarily "innocent." If you think about it in retrospective, Miku was the Devil. Since she rejected Rin in her original form, Rin "sinned" so that she could accept her.
As a result, I don't think Miku is blameless in that sense.

Guys, stop. You know good and well that the man in the video is not Gakupo. Under no circumstances has Gakupos hair ever been short and blue. And before you say it, Yes the man in the videos hair is blue. The hair looks purpleish blue because of the coloring of the video. Its meant to look old. In the art from the novelization, drawn by the same person who illustrated this video, His hair is blue and there is no doubt that he is Kaito. Gakupo is in the novelization as well and his hair is kept long as it should be. Also, in the novelization, It tells the conversation Miku had with Kaito before he shot her. I hope this clears things up because Im getting sick of people calling Kaito, Gakupo when he's not. Gakupos not even in the video.

everyones doing this but really there shouldnt be "theories" on what the song is about because its laid out pretty straightforeward. rin is an angel, and falls in love at first sight with a beautiful woman, miku. shes completely entranced with her, and they become friends, and rin confesses her feelings to miku. miku, shocked, pushes rin away. rin thinking it was because she was an angel, flees and gives up her wings to become human. the real reason however was because miku wasnt into girls. rin returns to the human world as a wingless angel, given up everything to be with miku, and takes the form of a man. miku falls for rin in disguise as a boy, and they are to be married. another angel, kaito, finds out that rin has left him and fallen for a human, and in a jealous rage, kills miku. rin, heartbroken, gives up her life to bring miku back from the dead, in doing so revealing she was a woman, and the angel, all along, and leaving behind one feather. miku, realizing she was in love with rin all along, is anguished and mourns the death of her love. they were always destined to be, the only thing standing between them was their sexialities and genders

Well, that bs miku thought she would get to love her fiance in future, and when rin kissed her, she was shocked and pushed her away, she just didn't know how to process that, and it was same day rin made deal with devil. Miku did lost her memory of rin, but her heart didn't. Before miku met len (rin) she felt empty, like something was missing. And when len showed up, she didn't feel empty anymore and come to conclusions that the love of her life.
As for Kaito, in version I readed, he did. But anywho, they did reunited.
AN EXPLANATION
The story is that Rin is a fallen angel... She meets miku and instantly falls in love with her, but this takes place is the older days. So first of all being lesbians were already bad enough at that time if You're AN ANGEL THAT FALLS IN LOVE WITH THE SAME SEX GIRL YOU'RE DAMN SCREWED. So yeah that's why Miku left Also to mention she was already going to be married. Rin really loved Miku so she made a deal with the devil and that deal was that to turn Rin into a male. Also Rin had killed Miku's groom so that he cannot come. So Rin/Len Had gone to the chapel where they could instantly fall in love and do the sexy ting >;3 . But when Len/Rin married Miku i guess Kaito had felt something wrong. And Rin and Kaito were already in love and saw through her disguise. Out of jealousy he was mad, and then shot Miku. But Rin loved and wanted Miku to leave. So she made another deal to save Miku. But in order for it to work she had to give up her last wing. So she did that and then instead of Miku dying she revived her and then Rin died. You're Welcome.

So, what I'm guessing the story is that...
Rin is an angel, and she falls in love with Miku. But, apparently, angels cannot love humans. So she cuts of her wings.
Later, Miku finds a boy (who is Rin, but human) and falls in love with him. And time passes, blah blah.
And then Kaito finds out that Rin is no longer angel, (he could of been Rin's friend/lover?) so he finds the reason of that, Miku, and he kills her.
And Len finds out, and he is sad, but he exchanges his life for hers, so Miku is alive and Rin vanishes.
I'm not sure if that is correct, but that is just my point of view of the story.

I... Love this a little too much. The story and the art just conveyed such a fantastic sense of heartbreak. There's a great use of shadows in the video and the sadness really comes through. The beat of the music was great as well and super catchy. GAHHH!!!! I LOVE THIS!

It's Kaito. It says so in the book. (There's a book for Alluring Secret Black Vow). Gakupo is in the book, but he's a minor character. Also, Kaito's hair looks darker than it usually does in the PV because he's standing in a place called shadows.

Alluring Secret ~Oath of the Holy War~ is the final song of the series, and acts as the prequel to everything that happened.
This song tells of the war that took place over a thousand years ago. Kaito, the angel queen Lily and a green-haired angel (Mikuo) fought a demon and banished him to the earth. However, after the battle, the green-haired angel and Lily vanished, presumably falling to earth themselves.
I like to think that maybe Mikuo and Rin were lovers when they were both angels, so when Mikuo fell to earth he was reborn as Miku and that's how Rin fell in love with her instantly. I say this because of the Story:
