    ROSE RS150: eng.hifirose.com/malllist/?idx=9
    ROSE 201E: eng.hifirose.com/malllist/?idx=3
    Three Extra things:
    1. Both units comes with basic plastic remotes that functions excellent
    2. Both units can be used with Wifi and I never recommend Wifi on streamers BUT... Wifi or ethernet - both works equally well on these
    3. I never say this but... I feel like these are probably the only streamers you will ever need... as of this video. You will be the first to know if I find something better but kinda hard to imagine one that's better than these streamers

I have a LeEco lex626. Aluminum body, gorilla glass; waterproof; 4 GB ram, 64 GB storage;1920 pixel display; 21 mp camera; 10-core 2.3 GHz processor; USB-C; Runs games very well. was IIRC, $114.00 3.5 years ago. Otoh, it is a LeEco - no upgrades, not even sure they are still in business! See: www.giztop.com/leeco-le-s3-x626.html
I'm going to guess why these boxes cost what they do is because audiophiles are a distinct minority. Not enough volume to justify a thin margin. What I want is for Sony to put a very good DAC and streamer into the next PlayStation - one box to control them all, one box to find them. But I think I will have to be very very patient. :)

As I said in my comment below about one week ago... these things are like toasters, and they already have a new one coming out, the RS250! (they should have a comparison table on their website so one can quickly get through the marketing crap) I just cannot keep up with these custom computers in a box. But I am looking at their site now anyways.

Just got my Rose 150B last week. Love it. Great sound, everything works perfectly. Only issue is Albuquerque is spelled incorrectly on the clock/weather screen. I emailed Rose and received a prompt reply that the misspelling would be corrected. I was very impressed. Would I buy it again?.? In a heart beat.. My best. Dan. Albuquerque.

Lol. Nice closing shot! Rose is advertising in every hi-fi and lifestyle mags here in France too. Strange to see such unknown brand going at a hefty price tag for their products. For music streaming purposes, going head to head price-wise against established lifestyle products such as Naim's Uniti Atom, Star or Nova... Even if specs are a little bit different... Would likely play safe and go with Naim and get a good amp "for free" on top!

Nice review on the ROSE 201E man, very advanced use of skeuomorphism to add some realism. I don't stream; I just need a good media player that can play FLAC from an external USB SSD. Question is, is there a limit on how many albums and audio tracks the RS201 will read? There are many units that claim for example 4TB of storage etc. but cannot actually read and catalog all the folders and files on an external SDD or HDD. Most importantly, how is the customer service /support for HiFi Rose products? The 4K video not really a big deal, Firesticks have been doing that for years; not elegantly but doing nonetheless. Any way I may have to start putting away some extra bucks, the more I read about this thing the more its starting to grow on me. I have an SMSL DP5 and I'm a bit disappointed with.

How do you get "better sound quality" when the streamer is only playing with 1s and 0s. As long as the 1s and 0s are all there, the DAC does the magic to convert to analog and at that point "sound quality" is all in pre-amp, amp and speakers. $4000 is an utter rip off for a steamer, because "sound quality" only starts at the DAC. WTF can they possible do to make 1s and 0s sound better? 1s and 0s are data, not music, so you can't do shit to make data sound better at that point, other than having more data (higher resolution files).

A computer gets music and it's good. Then you try a Sonos with the same DAC and the software wows you. So much easier to use along with multi room. Then you move to Bluesound for even better quality. Then you try a unit from Lumin and go WOW!. Then you swing back to reality and build a RaspPi with Allo HAT. Close enough to Lumin. Add in Roon and you have a really good home set up. That is my journey and I can now add a very high quality sounding Roon endpoints for a minimal cost.

I’m not sure what’s happening with this channel. I’m perfectly happy to take this journey with you as you develop as a reviewer and UA-cam personality but the constant change is slightly disconcerting. I mean, this is a really long video! I just couldn’t stay engaged. Right off the bat I was confused by the absence of the Uniti Atom. I truly think Darko is the reining king of UA-cam audiophile channels. One of his strengths is in his editing. I get the feeling that you are searching for your own identity but can’t quite get out from under the heavy hitters that we all know and love. That sounds critical I know. And it is critical but not at all in the typical snotty UA-camr get on line to be mean sort of way. I really like your insights and your approach. In the music world we are told that you have to find and develop your own sound. Older musicians tell us to copy those we admire until we start to synthesize all our influences into something uniquely our own. It can be hard to step out from the shadow of those successful influences. I think there is a point in every successful musicians development where they have to completely cut the cord and turn their back on their influences, trust their instincts and look outside the narrow field of their peers and broaden their palette. I feel, when watching the last few months of your channel that you are getting too close to your sources, they are too evident to viewers. Yes emulate, rip-off even, but obscure it in a way that it appears to be your own. Often that comes from borrowing from outside your field. Emulating too much without a healthy dose obscuring can leave an audience feeling that you don’t trust your own vision and create a feeling of being lost. Too many changes can make people feel like “oh, this is the REAL him”...”no, this is the REAL him”....”No, wait a minute, THIS is the REAL him!”. Every single creator has to deal with this, it is one key to really solidifying your art. Blah blah...sorry to rant. Food for thought.

      1. Because phones don’t cost $100 unless you use a walkie-talkie

@@Jayiyagi I have a $100 phone. It outperforms most of the ones on the market, and it hasn't lost a beat in 3 years.
Good parts are cheap. You can buy all the parts needed for an amp's circuit boards at retail and pay less than $100.00. Schiit makes quite nice equipment for $100.00 to $200.00. Are you going to dare to say they don't use good parts?
Not everybody buys streamers because the ones that are dedicated to the task and have a GUI cost a bloody fortune. I am asking - why? Why is no one, even now after these units being on the market for several years, not made a quality unit for a reasonable price ? Perfectly functional DACs cost under $100. A tablet with a decent screen costs less than $100. At retail. Why are people happy to spent many thousands of dollars on a box with the exact same tech inside ?

Spent an hour doing audio room correction with spectrum frequency pulses. Huge difference now! Increased level of frequency that registered lower in-room response & lowered those frequencies that were dominant. Every room suffers from 'suck out' of some frequencies. How do you do a room correction?
Get an SPL meter and a graphic equalizer that will generate continuous spot pulses that you can measure in-room levels with your meter. Adjust all freqs to same SPL. The pay off is worth the effort.
Some modern equipment has room correction software and do automatically.

Was hoping for a critical comparative review, this is just a sales demo of the features it has, which was quite repetitive in places. How many different ways can one say the front panel screen looks beautiful. On paper looks like a great product but there's still so few reviews anywhere on the internet. My concern is most of money might be going towards the screen and features at the expense of sound quality. Love how this company have taken a risk and made a software based lifestyle product that might end up being audiophile too. Worried about the longevity though and whether software will be supported and if it might become obsolete. Plan to take a listen at my local dealer and compare it to some similar priced audiophile products.

Seems like a great unit that offers things I don't need/want like MQA, airplay, etc, but as it's in the price point of other higher quality streamers, and the display a killer addition, seems like it could be a solid choice.

And now my wife and I are going out on this Friday night to try a new Korean BBQ place that just opened up here in Colo Springs! I have been eyeballing it for a couple of weeks now, thanks for the push! Now I am getting an amp/streamer and dinner! LOL

Good video. I had a rose250 but one day the screen was suddenly frozen with rose logo and i couldn't reset it. It has no physical reset button to the fabric settings... So after communiting with the company, they couldnt' find a solutuion and offered to change the mainboard... Then i have read many similar complaints about the product. Now i have a new rose250 but i am afraid of facing the same problem again.

There's a good reason for that!
Screens are noisy [larger adds more].
Analog & digital isolation is better.
    Separating power is quieter.
    That's why you don't find many "High-End" all-in-one units.

Are you implying that because it's a Linn, the screen size doesn't matter in reguard to noise?
On the website, there is no mention of the screen for the Klimax, if it were indeed a "Key Feature" it most certainly would have been mentioned.

Nice looking units but they don't make a version without built in amp. A dealbreaker for people who wish to feed a power amp. Even the 150 would have a snowflakes chance of driving my Magnepans. Maybe they'll make a un amped version in the future but by that time I would have the Rose in my rack. Plus only the Rose has the 4k streaming. Not important to all, but it is to me.
