2:04 This part gives me so much Crash Bandicoot energy
Reminds me of the Bee-Having music
2:04 sounds like something out of crash bandicoot
Collision WOAH Past
Yeah.
Lol it actually sounds like “Woah!” Slowed down!
WOAH chaos zone
Great now we have the Mario underground bass in hill top and this
I don't know why, but CCZ in the Past sounds really good, and weird at the same time.
I like it quite a bit.
And there's that part at 0:34, sounds so good and I don't even know why.
CreeperDudeBro yeah. I don’t know if this or metallic madness is my favorite past theme

This song, broken into its parts like this, is truly an epic in it's own right. Sonic CD's soundtrack is legendary.
too bad that the game is ass in every way :,

@@M1Lover95 im both a sonic and mario fan. i grew up with sonic and then when i got my first nintendo switch i played some mario maker and i liked it. both are good franchises overall. id give sonic like a 9.5 and mario a 9. its just that sonic cd couldve been better if it wasnt so confusing.
Mad respect to Masafumi Ogata for composing this little tune..

Big tune made by a B I G mind
He is literally the GOAT
This reply section is perfect.
Ong hes goated
I love the panning occurring on channel 4 at 0:35, channel 7 at 1:04, channel 1 at 1:49, etc.
It's such minor techniques like these that can give more depth to a track.
epic
Epik
1:04 to 1:49 sounds like a my singing monsters remake
1:04 sounds like Tiki is singing 🗿🗿
One of the wackiest Sonic CD tracks. To me it was way out of place, but after getting knew about the JP ost I consider this one of the best past mixes.
**wacky** workbench is wackier

about time. this is one of the best tracks in the game!

0:00, Dinosaurs are getting their friends for a dance off. 1:04, Dinosaur Dance Zone Present. 2:20, The dinosaurs' fun was ruined by a meteor, and the loneliness of Channel 3 describes the emptiness of the place after the extinction. 3:33, New life is flourishing in the once barren wasteland, shown by more channels joining Channel 3. 4:49, New animals are growing in population. 6:04, The turtle population has grown, shown by adding Channel 1. 7:20, Dr. Robotnik uses the time stones to travel back in time from the present to the past to plant his robot generators and Metal Sonic holograms. 8:35, Sonic goes back in time to write the wrongs of the past to change the future, and saves-orange and yellow flowers? Not animals? Ok, Sega.
While I do agree that the lack of flickies is kind of weird (i mean...what are the badniks using to operate) I just think that Little Planet just has source power from within (the yellow flowers) so when you defeat them, you return natural power to the planet, that's how I "justify" in my own lore, still would prefer flickies
This one comment feels like an entire anime arc.
@@SuperCosmicMutantSquid I love loring lol
After reading this, I start feeling scared once 2:20 plays
@@bartonation5177 Haha, that's what gets ya thinking!
0:01 Sega.exe has stopped working
The Channel 4 and 5 really bring in the music, a good starter to the song as Collision Chaos has few metal stuff and lights and has more plantations. Masafumi Ogata has done a great job!
They added such a great sound chip to the SEGA CD almost everyone ignored because they could just play CD music. Imagine if the CDs were 95% game data and 5% CD music instead of the other way around. SEGA CD might have been a major success.
@@f.k.b.16 Yeah

Sweet deconstruction 😁
I can imagine huge plants growing in the beginning and then just swaying side to side with the beat.
7:20 7:35 EVERYBODY NOW!
i like how the 909 drums suddenly appear at the second half of the intro
it first sounded ethnic and then synthethic

@@jonahabenhaim1223 LOOOL
It's funny thinking back I always wondered why these songs wouldn't play when I used the disk in a standard CD player. Little did I know it was coming from the power inside the SEGA CD which was not being utilized in most SEGA CD games making Sonic CD a rare title to own.
Collision Chaos is a very underrated track when it comes to JP especially the Past and Present. Pls can you do Carnival Night Act 1 and Ice Cap Act 1 FINAL oscilloscope.

Heck Yes
By far my fave track in all of Sonic CD!
I never even heard the sound from channel 7 but I love it
Wow que chido video
I’m gonna need all the sonic tracks placed in one playlist once all of these are deconstructed
I like the part when it's 3:12
this is nice
2:14 Wow, Thats Really Good. Its Justs Gets More Louder And Quit :/
cool
Sadly no birdies at the start, which means we never get to hear them isolated
It’s actually an “ah” sort of vocal.
But yeah, I was hoping to hear them too. ;_;
Sounds like a mix of native African music and disco music.
Tbh i was just waiting for the *DUN DUN DUN DUN-DUN* part 0:48
I found similar stabs from channel 4 in "Best Service - Gigapack"
How did they pull off 0:34?
what do you mean?
So, that's a good question. The answer is that this music was stored and played differently from other Genesis songs.
Most Gsnesis songs are essentially stored as a series of notes like sheet music, and the Yamaha synthesizer chip on the Genesis reads that sheet music and "performs" it.
Most of Sonic CD's soundtrack was just stored in CD format and the Sega CD just played the CD, which means you couldn't do a breakdown of those songs.
The PAST Songs in Sonic CD, however, were stored differently. They were stored as a series of short pre-recorded sound clips that were each several seconds long which they would loop and play over eachother in order to create the music.
So, that sound was recorded elsewhere and is being played back by a Genesis, but there's not a chip on the genesis that's programmed to make that exact sound unlike the music you hear in cartridge-based Genesis games like Sonic 1, 2, and 3.
That's a sample, hi-compressed.
it's James Brown is Dead - L.A. Style main synth

Ah yes the three types of people, "what are you talking about", "*insert explanation here*" and "*insert further explanation here*"
Technically you can do deconstructions of the cd musics by their samples that they used (like the ssz hue hue)
but that would only mean samples
A channel called Nuclear has attempted to recreate some of the CD tracks, and so far has only fully completed Quarts Quadrant (Bad Future) and some tracks like Tidal Tempest Present are apparently impossible to recreate accurately because of how they were mixed during the mastering, and they can't be replicated.
And various instrument sources for most of the CD tracks have been found are in two videos on a channel called Collision Chaos Radio.
@@Turbulation1 Cool, will check them out.
nice
2:04 caveman music
The distorted sounds are my favourite
i gotta say loop #2 sounds amazing
Sonic cd music the best ever the level layout not so much.
Literally playing the game to hear all the tracks. That's it.
sounds so jovial I like the hip hop like music backing
beginning almost sounds like mario fireball
3:34 also slaps
Ah yes, pinball land.
Did you know that there are deconstructable tracks based on the rest of the Sonic CD soundtrack? The loop intermissions from prototype 510! They are the same file format as the built-in Past tracks and not Redbook Audio.
what genre should this be?
Probably "90s House". Though this has a really unique sound I doubt you'll find in much in many other songs.
@@Swaggless This sounds nothing like house music lol. The closest thing to house this ost has is the stardust speedway and is not.
is it possible to do this type of music deconstruction with n64 or ps1 games?
N64, yes.
PS1 depends on the game. Some used pre recorded audio and some used sequenced.
@@palaceswitcher I'd love to see some Gex 3D deconstructions on this channel :P
games like the ps1 version of metal slug x can be deconstructed
Dude rly this video has no dislikes and i shall bless you for that
We need a Good Future deconstruction of Collision Chaos
Sonic CD Sound Sources is working on one, but doing so is way more complicated than you think.
Because every track in the game besides past ones, is in waveform audio meaning it can't be deconstructed, and you'd only be able to deconstruct individual channels by recreating the track from scratch and getting all the original source instruments (which is very expensive since just getting the source bell synth for the lead apparently cost 620$). And you'd also have to master and try to mix it as close to the original as possible.
I like channel 3 too
funky
am i the only one that hears my singing monsters?

Heck yeah! Anyone know if they did tidal tempest yet?
ua-cam.com/video/LBAMivvHapI/v-deo.html
This seems like a joke song
2:41 Colision chaos.exe stop working.
Can you do Tidal Tempest (Bad Future) deconstruction?
Someone needs to entirely recreate that track first before they can deconstruct it. I only know that a couple instrument sources from the track have been found and they are on Collision Chaos Radio's channel.
Unfortunately, no. The bad future, along with present and good future music, is CD-quality audio. The past music uses more dated, sample-based PCM audio. What that means is, *only the past music can be deconstructed.*
I like channel 4
I adore music constructed of lo-fi samples like these. They sound so warm. Does anyone have any recommendations of modern music that uses them to a big extent?
This ain't lofi chief
@@fordesponja "u-um, the definition of lo-fi music is to be low fidelity, meaning that this is lo-fi by definition" 🤓
@@fordesponja the samples are low fidelity
Yeah, I like it a lot too. Hmm not exactly an expert but if I were to hazard a guess? You might be looking for some 'plunderphonics' type stuff. Maybe some of Daniel Lopatin's creative output. I like this one side project of his called 'Games' a lot. Check out 'Shadows in Bloom' and 'Heartlands'
He's actually kind of credited with inventing the vaporwave genre under his 'Chuck Person's Eccojams' side project.
@@snatcherofpeachsJust gonna chime in and say that everyone should absolutely listen to Daniel Lopatin, also known as Oneohtrix Point Never. He’s one of the best electronic artists working today. Especially his albums “Replica” and “R Plus Seven”

Present and future tracks cant be deconstructed but maybe the unused loops can be deconstructed
Are you going to try do tempest tidal act as well that would awesome
Could you isolate channel 5
Palmtree Panic present, pretty please 😁
The present, good and bad future tracks CANNOT be deconstructed because they are not produced using the actual console, they are pre-recorded songs.
