Surprise 🎉 hahaha 😁 Yay thank you so much you like them ☺️ so nice to see them in good hands and I know they’ll have a better life with you ☺️ so happy to see them at the end all potted up nicely having better soil and under growlights unlike here with me 😬 I don’t know the exact ID of that Mammillaria and the small one I’m not sure if it’s a gymno chiquitanum or a matucana haha. The mother plant looks confusing. Sorry they’re too small, better give them now, I know they will have a big chance surviving with you than here with me specially in the winter. The spegazzinii var. major seeds are so special for me because that’s the one with very beautiful thick spines and rarely seen on sale. Also the Echinopsis pink nymph x pink subdenudata, exciting what they will look like. The stapelia hirsuta I’ve bought loads of that last year and my favourite so thought I share it to you as well. The aloe and haworthias look so stunning specially the aloe Castilloniae oh I love that one. I enjoyed this video so much. Thank you to you and Edith for all the support. Especially to Edith for hiding this secret hahaha First time she had secret to you haha. It’s nice though when we were chatting about this, we were more excited haha. It’s fine they’re small, I prefer that as part of the joy of this hobby is seeing them mature and grow 😊 Thank you so much for the speg seeds, looking forward to sowing those in the spring. That Aloe is definitely one of my favourites, so cool looking. Haha yeah Edith struggled keeping this from me, she did keep saying I should have some potting mix ready to go because you never know, now I know why she was saying that haha. What a great surprise to receive all those baby cactus... I also think that could be a Lobivia ferox longispinus, those two 'Mammillaria' look very challenging at that young stage to identify, there's a few species they look already similar to 😄 hope the flower bud stays put considering its journey and transition in new soil and environment 🍀 Christmas has come a lot earlier this year and Its great how our plants can help keep us smiling 🎅🎁⛄🎄😊

Not been able to ID the Mamms yet either, someone did say it’s called the army cactus in the Philippines but that hasn’t helped to properly ID it unfortunately. Really hope the bud on the Gymno opens, it’s not fell off yet anyway 🤞🏻 Definitely an early Christmas and so kind of Katherine, it was a lovely surprise getting a package I had no idea was arriving. So many lovely gifts, and beautifully displayed together at the end Daz. I think you may be 150 yrs old when some of them are large plants, but none the less it's a lovely surprise for you! I am not sure if flowering plants do too well when you replant them, after all the plant probably makes roots instead and throws its buds. I'm very interested to see how they develop - some of the larger ones were pretty unusual and a very generous present. Thanks for sharing it all with us - will you be stringing some coloured lights over them later on? : )
Haha thank you Marion 😊 Yeah it’s never a good idea to repot cacti if they’re in bud, I have done it a few times in the past and the flowers still opened, but that was in the spring/summer. Will be nice if they do open but we’re almost in December now, they shouldn’t be flowering anyway haha. Ooh! A very early Christmas present! I see Mrs. Claus is starting gift-giving early this year. 😉 Those are really wonderful plants from Katherine’s own collection and that is so sweet of her. Pretty soon you will also have a bed of cactus flowers like Katherine does. 😃 Good luck with all of them. 👍🏼

Wow. Christmas came early. It was amusing that the first one you unwrapped was a ‘dead’ looking Cynanchum ! Some choice species. Aloe castilloniae is on my list. You got them sorted and potted in short order. I’m guessing that you won’t be placing any purchase orders for a bit! 😉

Wow Daz, another unboxing! I remember you saying CLEARLY in the previous video it was going to be your last for the year and yet here we are watching some more unboxing haha. But maybe this can’t be counted as it’s a surprise gift not known purchases haha. Such beautiful amazing cacti and succulents from our friend Katherine. So many of them I do not have. I like how they all have roots so this will make them grow even faster. What is the top dressing you used here, Daz? Love the beautifully potted up plants at the end. Katherine was so kind and generous with all these amazing plants, and several wish list plants too 😊 I used my regular lava rock as top dressing and on some others a different type of lava rock called lapillo that I got from Kaizen Bonsai earlier in the year. My babys are about the size of a green pea and. Are coming up to 3 months old but the warm weather is making them grow

How old are the baby cactus
The baby Echinopsis and Gymnocalycium are more than a year old. The Arctic snow for an instance, it was like an areole size last year.
