Lanegan is the most under-rated singer songwriter of his generation. people will be falling over themselves to pay tribute when he's gone but he deserves more NOW.
@@sBcphotography89 i am pissed that he never was recogenised and now every metal or rock oriented media talks avout him, but oh well, that is how things are
A note to share . . . Mark appears throughout new Afghan Whigs album released Sept 2022. Already the music is up on their YT channel for a week now. Thank goodness Greg worked on new content with great purpose during 2020 & 2021 on new content of which includes capturing Mark to then share with us all.
I remember when this track came out and it totally kicked my ass. And it still does. Hard to believe this week it'll be a year since we've been living in a Lanegan-less world.
Saw them live once. Everyone had spots on them, except for Mark. He was in the dark, and he stood there an hour long just like he's standing in this vid. I was questioning whether I was dreaming or not, but damn man, that was one hell of a show. Been fan of Gutter Twins eversince.
I appreciate that these blokes are jamming. Because, I saw them both, separately, in Seattle in the early 90's, abd both were vital in their own way. And to see what that eventually may or may not lead to...in this case...is a continuation of art. Live with it, ya haters. enjoy, ya fans.
@Wowbagger86 My friend, I know and seen live both Afghan Whigs (1999) and Twilight Singers. I admire Greg Dulli especially for his integration of soul features in his music. Going to Town is one of my all time favourite songs as well as the covers of Creep (TLC) and Come live with me (Massive Attack).
This was my first introduction to the work of Greg Dulli, watched the show having heard Lanegan was on and was blown away, immedietly bought The Gutter Twins plus various other albums the very next day (streaming was not yet a thing back then kiddos).
hell yeah man, and more- check out his solo records (and the Screaming Trees if you haven't already)- amazing singer, amazing songwriter, all-round cool guy. legend.
The backing band is basically everyone from the Twilight Singers, Greg Dulli's new band that Mark occasionally sings and tours with. They are a great band in and of themselves, add Mark to it, and it's hard to beat.
Just got my tickets. Didn't even know they were playing Dublin until I was bored and looked on the MCD website. No mention of it at Death Cab the other night.
Even if Mark's voice is as raw as it gets it's still so incredibly full of emotion.. To me Mark is the man when it comes to writing songs like these. And the combination of his voice with Greg's is pure awesomeness!
Great song. I think Mark Lanegan, the dummer from the chili peppers and Will Ferrel are all the same guy. It would be hard to tell them a part in a police line up.
Mr. Mark Lanegan!! well the band is fucking awesome!!!!.... and about he getting fat well he is married to a super hot women and well..... that happends!!
and I think Mark looks like he gained weight. But that actually doesn't do anything to the fact that these hellraisers can rock the shit out of anything.

Right on. 8 years later, here it is.
A sad day…glad we enjoyed him while he was still here

A real working man's rock n' roll band in an era that is highly lacking in anything tangible. Dulli and Lanegan all day long.
Incredible collaboration. Powerful rock´n ´roll music !
RIP Dave Rosser, bringing some N.O. guitar to the festivities
And now RIP Mark Lanegan 😢
Mark Lanegan is just fucking awesome. Period.
I remember when this track came out and it totally kicked my ass. And it still does. Hard to believe this week it'll be a year since we've been living in a Lanegan-less world.
Their voices fit so well together!

This song is all Lanegan. Sooo talented. To us diehards, we know how great he is, but the mainstream never got him. Thankfully.
RIP to Mark Lanegan.
Will be terribly missed! ♥
Seeing Gutter Twins back in the day was my only live Lanegan experience.
Lanegan looked and sounded so healthy here. What an unreal talent.

Mark is the best vocalist treading the boards.
Just got my tickets. Didn't even know they were playing Dublin until I was bored and looked on the MCD website. No mention of it at Death Cab the other night.

RIP Mr. Lanegan, you were a treasure amongst a sea of shit.
That's what I was thinking! They all look like Hellboy.
wow
wonderful band
that's Ed Harcourt on the red guitar if i'm not mistaken...
lmao
now for the twilight singers as well as Mark Lanegan and Isobel campbell
Mr Lanegan seems to have his fingers in lots of pies, and they all seem to be pretty good.
And Ron Perlman (hellboy actor) amd Tom Waits
@MU51CF4N and he plays drums with the chillis!!!
@kyussgre He gives that look when he's done after a refrein that he's like " I got this shit"
This song rips
Fuckin' Ace!!!
RIP Mark.

Who's the girl @ 2:55?
Well, okay.....if you like a sort of well orchestrated dial tone.
Was that Alain in the corner?
Not a lot of bands use double bass anyway. Unless you play jazz or you're Les Claypool.
Is he wearing eyeliner?
Mr. Mark Lanegan!! well the band is fucking awesome!!!!.... and about he getting fat well he is married to a super hot women and well..... that happends!!
Ed Hardcourt isnt it?
and I think Mark looks like he gained weight. But that actually doesn't do anything to the fact that these hellraisers can rock the shit out of anything.

@jayxmenendez Mark re-married? Interesting...
@TheBlackberryMary ...one of my favourites : watch?v=WBCbqNkb_O0
but still Mark is THE ONE for me...
AWESOME, MARK is the JIM MORRISON of the 90's
Haha, nice. Still doesn't look like he's starving/dying of "thirst" to me...
will ferrell's lost weight
i would love it if i could mute the other singer.. when you have mark lanegan singing.. you don't need another guy singing pretty much the same line
