YANKEE'S uses so far for the ROCKET STOVE -
Base Camping, Bush Hunting, boiling water for chicken processing, boiling maple syrup, roasting coffee, cooking soup and stews, cooking deer roast etc.
so glad to see you reviewing the SilverFire, such a better product not to mention the ethics....StoveTec claims to donate so much, but through some of my sources, "allegedly" they are not going where they say and they have been turned in over this. I'll be reviewing the SilverFire Super Dragon soon. Todd is a great guy with high morals that I appreciate. Thank for this review Yankee
The clay being so fragile and the weight were the two things that kept me from ever ordering a stove tec. This little guy looks very user friendly! Thanks.
The weight and fragility is what really turned me away from the StoveTec when I first saw them. The SilverFire looks like it has really surpassed all the StoveTec's shortcomings. Putting this on my Christmas list for sure. Thanks for taking the time to share. God bless.
This was a great review! I had just found the Stovetec stove earlier today. I was completely unfamiliar w/ rocket stoves. I had my credit card out but stumbled upon your review. I'm going with the Silverfire. I too am concerned w/ durability and weight. You just saved me a potential headache. Thank you! MiF

Here it is years after this video was made, and here I am! I just purchased the Silver Fire Survivor, and it looks beautiful! I haven't tried it out yet, but can hardly wait! It looks like it can also be used as a hand warmer, like a camp fire! Thank you for the video, introducing it for me. When I was shopping for rocket stoves, I decided that if I'm going to pay over a hundred dollars for an item, I should pay a bit more & get the best available! : )

Great vid. I really like that you can use the pencil size sticks. People at campgrounds always disregard those. Great review.
I don't own a stove Yet, but one of the obvious benefits of the Silverfire, which I don't think I heard you mention was the 4 legs supporting the pot vs 3 legs with the other. More stability means less accidents with kids & beer drinking adults :o)

Good vid as a chef I can see it would be great in the field as getting the heat up fast and maintaining it is important. Never seen anything like it here, most people have butane can stoves.

Thanks for the review. Looks like this may be the front runner for rocket stoves I've been looking at. Almost bought the original stove-tec a few years ago like a few friends did, I'm so glad I didn't now. For once putting it off may have been a better choice.

I have perfected cooking on my StoveTec, but may have to have the SilverFire also I totally enjoy cooking outside on these stoves
Thanks, I was wondering since I deer hunt on public grounds in Wis. And it's FREE to camp there. I currently use a outfitter tent, I do have a wood stove for heat, but cook mostly out on a grill or on a cast iron grate stand over the camp fire. So I thought if I could find something to sever as both the heater & cooking surface, it would save a lot of space in the truck.
None the less, still a cool product, thanks for the info.

That's a nice looking stove. They have a couple other products that look promising as well. The "hunter" model has my interest, for a few extra dollars you get a little bit more capability. But I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
I'm sold on this. I saw the little one and want that as well.

Hi, Yankee, I talked to Todd today, he said he sent you out the hunter. I am waiting for your review of the hunter, since I can't decide between the hunter and the survivor. Also as you say, the survivor is not available for a few weeks. Very good review, by the way.

Once again Yankee, you have provided me with an abundance of information. I was about to buy the rocket stove last week but some internal thing was keeping from acting on it. Well today I open my email and find your video on a better more improved stove that I definitely want. However, it is out of stock now. I sent the company an email asking them to notify me when they are available again. I thank you for all your wise information. My garden table is doing fine how is yours?

How would this stove do for heating a tent you think? On their site I saw they also have a design with a chimny and I was wondering if this could be used not only to cook with but also heat a large wall tent. Any thoughts on this after your testing?

When u set water on them stick on the silver fire and the cut in your video the stick sure got short, that made fire get going a lot better. The food looks better than the stove👍 I have one coming. I order mine I thought it was and was told it was 304 steel and found out later it is only 302.. just a little not happy about that no big deal just saying 👍
Just bought a silver fire after watching,always wanted a good rocket stove,glad I slacked off.
Not all the time no..sometimes. why ? Would you ask ? A large enough store of water will be stored in the van if that is any help to your question ??
I love my Bushbudy stove! Did I hear correctly that you designed that? I bought mine a couple of years ago from some very nice folks homesteading in Alaska.
Looks like a great product @ a good price. Would it be possible to rig piping to the top of this so it could heat the tent as well ?

Hi, do you have any suggestions for a wood or oil burning stove that would be suitable for living in a van. As i live in England, stealth is priority. Is there any option you know of that doesn't require an external exhaust/smoke/fume pipe.Regards.M.

Silverfire is lighter will be cheaper to ship to Australia and wouldn't be broken during shipping.
And you can use the chamber door to shave in (mirror).

Will this stove last for a couple of years constantly using it. I'm a believer and totally believe their will be a time to run from persecution.
Are you abel to make lower or hiher heat for cooking fast or slow
As a common rule and one of the laws of the Universe ....Less fuel = slow cooking / More fuel = fast cooking
Can you use them indoor?
Nu B definitely not. The smoke needs to be vented outdoors
If SHTF I'm bugging in so I won't be toting my stovetec.
