Dont mind the haters, you cant avoid her, for your own sake, she is writing history here, keep up the good reactions.
Thank you for your very honest reactions (plural - I also watched your Million Miles reaction). I'm not sure about the Million Miles comments but I do understand your point. Here, with Summertime, we see Angelina finally opening up and becoming the true performer she knows she needs to be. You need to compare this with her audition piece, Gloomy Sunday to see the difference. By the way, that note which gave you such chills - it does to me, too. In fact it's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Like the scent of a wild flower, I can never quite get enough of it.
Nice reaction and great analysis. Thank you!
Wonderful heartfelt reaction! Her voice has only gotten richer as she grows. I never tire of it.
She won Norway's Got Talent with his performance when she was 8 years old
Welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan 🥰
Angelina taught herself to sing and has always created her own arrangements for each cover song. She is a prodigy unlike any other I know of. Angelina is easily the most accomplished child vocalist of all time. Please read the biography I compiled for her.
Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English, Japanese and Swedish.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. Angelina plays the piano and guitar and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
*Why Angelina always performs barefoot*
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on UA-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration.
Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.
A 9 years old, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs.
At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a UA-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances.
When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year.
During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on UA-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On UA-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video.
The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her.
In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song.
Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram.
Angelina has concerts scheduled in Norway in July 2022.
Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be.
I encourage others to use this biography to help educate others about the love, empathy, magic and beauty that is Angelina Jordan Astar and her unique music.
When it comes to Angelina Jordan never, ever assume you know what her performance is going to sound like. Watch her perform, Sleepin’ Jay Hawkins’ 1956 song, “I Put A Spell On You” with an open mind. Angelina was nine years and two months old in this performance. I guarantee that you won’t get past the first five words out of her mouth before you pause the video and look into the camera with a stunned look on your face and then ask, “What did I just hear? This can’t be possible!”
Distracted? - Angelina? When for example she looked at the trumpet player it was the little boss who looked at him. There is a piece when she rehearsed this with the musicans and she directed them.
Thanks for coming back to Angelina again. Your insights into her connecting with the music are right on. Angelina has said many times in interviews that when she sings she enters her own special world that is happy and loving. She finds her own meaning in the songs she sings and authentically communicates the story of the song to her audience. After watching her hundreds of performances and interviews multiple times I can honestly say that she is the most humble and authentic artist I have ever watched. Her interpretation of the Screaming Jay Hawkins original "I put a spell on you" at the age of 9 is jaw dropping. I look forward to seeing your reaction to it.
Fascinating reaction. I like what you said about her natural emotive instincts. She's so empathic it's mind-boggling. Plus she has the incredible vocal and musical gifts that allow her to create a range of expression that most reactors find supernatural. "Old soul" is the common phrase -- and I think it describes the way Angelina feels more than is easy to understand for anyone her age. The barefoot dedication is just one example of a heart that's beyond her years. Thanks for hanging in there! Most of us Angelina fans are kind people. Sorry if you got criticized in another reaction.
“When I sing I go to another world. The world is endless. It's like, full of happiness. I love it. It's amazing. And when I am on stage, I don't want to go [leave the stage]. [laughing]. I just want to be on stage" A snippet of Skaylan’s interview of Angelina Jordan (age 12) on Norwegian TV - November 2018
Shortly after this, the people, the government and the royal family of Norway declared Angelina Jordan Astar, the "National Treasure of Norway".
Angelina arranges, at least in part, if not in total, total control of all her performances. She has since she was 7-8 yrs old. She knows what she wants and gets exactly what she wants out of the artists and musicians she works with, many of them who are some of the most accomplished in the industry.
Angelina has the most beautiful deep voice which is always in tune and quite often in her lower register. I believe she is a Contralto which is rare for a girl especially at this age. You will soon realize she is always Pitch Perfect and always performs at a Master Class level. Her voice was powerful and beautiful at 8 yrs old and today at 16 it is phenomenal! Enjoy the ride. I will enjoy watching you. ♥👣👸🏻
Her first song was Whitney Houston 'I Will Always Love You'? at 18 months. Angelina is the Grand Master of Jazz! She could teach a Master Class at 8 years old.
She grew up singing Jazz and this is obviously her favorite genre, the biggest influence, the origination of her versatility, deep soulful expression and deep emotional connection to her audience. She can sing any song and any genre. ♥👣
She is absolutely fearless in choice of covers. No artist is too big and no song too daunting. Most Artists shy away from singing Acappella as it will quickly show any flaws. Angelina will sing absolutely any thing Accappella and often does on tik-toc just walking around the neighborhood as this video shows. ua-cam.com/video/z5MGeCUjMU4/v-deo.html Just imagine running into Angelina on the street, some park or underground parking lot. God, what I wouldn't give to see that! You have far to go and much to learn. Treasure your Journey. We will enjoy watching it.
A child prodigy who started singing Whitney Houston at 1 & 1/2, Won Norways Got Talent at 8 yrs old singing Billy Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday', 'I'm a Fool to Want You' a cappella, 'Bang, Bang' by Nancy Sinatra and 'Summertime' by George Gershwin! She fulfilled one of her childhood wishes when she sang for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 8, her second wish that you will soon watch was to sing for that 'Simon Show" that she expressed at 3 yrs old when she sang on America's Got Talent 'The Champions' at 13 yrs old singing the most beautiful rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody ever created! ! She has sung for Quincy Jones & Barak Obama among many others and raised millions for Children Charities and Climate Change! No theatrics here, simply the most soulful interpretation of a song and an ability to convey that emotion right down to your very soul! She has made many grown men cry! Buckle up, you're going to need it! She is 16 as of Jan 10th this year and has just released her second original with Republic Records after being protected to allow her to grow up and when they got a deal that gave her 100 % control over her art. The true GOAT in my opinion! She was 9 when singing a song by Screamin Jay Hawkins on the candle from 1956. ua-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/v-deo.html She started studying all the Greats of Jazz at 3yrs old on u-tube. What little girl studies Jazz at that age? The one & only Angelina Jordan, The Velvet Voice of the Barefoot princess of Jazz! I would love to see you start with one of her most recent. Her cover of 'When You Believe' by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carie. Watch the studio version first if you haven't seen it. One of her Best! Never one to show off this simple beautiful rendition shows her mindset in approaching her music. Nothing theatrical, just soft Velvet perfection! ua-cam.com/video/uAlVzI8-5hQ/v-deo.html Also if you loved Amy Winehouse, Check out one of my favorites 'Valerie' with her having fun with her sister Juliet on Venice Beach. ua-cam.com/video/sqmJLkgk2Ik/v-deo.html Perfect again! After that I'ld use Rusty Schackelford's Chronological playlist and jump around to those you are familiar with. ua-cam.com/video/RjQZKBpVaes/v-deo.html You can't go wrong with anyone of them. And you can see her journey knowing her age at the time she sang it and where she was at that point in her and our journey. Another must view is 'Fly My to the Moon' on 'The View' at 8 yrs old & was my favorite among her half dozen versions because of the shear cuteness and her masterful phrasing! ua-cam.com/video/nBGMQ9Kx9iI/v-deo.html Rusty's playlist starts with her first visit to the studio at 6yrs old!
Loved what you did! I absolutely appreciate honesty in reactions and absolutely agree with you that Angelina would be definitely disappointed if she knew that fans were being disrespectful.”I Put a Spell on You”, is really a must see! ( I have several hundred times and never tire of this performance.(black and white version please)). It’s from a child’s perspective from what I can tell and would love commentary on what you can see. Also another prodigy with acting/unique vocals is Diana Ankudinova. “Can’t Help Falling In Love”,”Wicked Game”, “Rechenka” and many others are absolutely captivating. She’s considered the “Queen of Goosebumps”, as well as Angelina. “I also recommend Angelina’s original song “Million Miles”. Written at age 12 after her grandfather passed and she says it’s a song for anyone suffering a loss. It’s very cathartic and healing. Please enjoy whenever you can and so very sorry about “the fire”. My prayers are with you!❤️🕊🍀🌈😇🙏❣️
She's been singing since she was one-and-a-half she recorded her first studio video when she was 6 years old you're at looking at a child prodigy my friend
You should be very scared of hearing Angelina's version of "I Put a Spell On You" when she just turned age 9, as it will change your very notion of Reality and you will be hooked for life.
From interviews I've seen with Angelina she has said that music found her and that singing is like breathing for her. She has also said that when she closes her eyes when singing it takes her to a beautiful place. I think that is when you are picking up on that snuggling down feeling. It's as if she takes us to that place with her. I hope you will continue to react to Angelina.
What a great reaction!
lovely reaction, very honest and heartfelt sincere
Angelina is the barefooted Queen of Soul with a Thousand Voices! She weaves musical tapestries in all colors of the rainbow with her beguiling voice! Her musical artistry is second to none and it not something that can be taught. Soul + Music in perfect harmony!
She was a couple of months into her 8th year here, and this was the last, and winning, performance on Norway's Got Talent. Everything's on the rise after this already stunning performance.
Glad you reacted to Angelina Jordan again. I was hoping you would. Yes, please react to ' I put a spell on you ', the black and white version. Legendary performance ! 🙂🖖
When Angelina was younger, and performing on stage, she liked to look at and engage with the audience... she often waved, if she saw someone that she knew.... 🙂👍
also just to wave back......
One of the best reactions I've ever seen to "Summertime" on NGT -- which I think (given her age) may be her most astonishing performance. Sorry if you were trolled on an earlier reaction. I think you'll find AJ's primary fan base enormously informed and appreciative of your expert and articulate reactions.
You definitely get her! Her ability to inhabit the emotion of a song and convey it is extraordinary.
Don’t be afraid of “I Put A Spell On You” She is 9 yrs old in the video (making her 17 developmentally by your math) One needs to ignore her age to prevent the shock, which can cause one to miss many of the subtleties. Thinking of her as an ageless artist with unlimited empathy will make it easier to fully enjoy and appreciate her work.
LOL.. I just HAVE to. If she's 8 years ahead at 8, if you follow the basic logic, she should be 9 years ahead at age 9, thus making her developmentally 18. Angelina is currently developmentally almost 33 :-) No offense, just thought it funny to comment on. Have a great weekend :-)
@@poolhallshark 😂
You SHOULD be terrified about her rendition of "I put a spell on you". It's scary good, and that she is also involved in the musical interpretation makes it just amazing.
Aweseome reaction and analysis, thank you so much for sharing! 💖 I really like that you adressed negative comments. I also like that you try to keep your review on the positive side. I think you have a lot of insight and smart things to share, and by focusing on the positives you will reach a bigger audience. As you probably realize, most people watching this are big fans of Angelina and her music. You might not always agree on her way of performing, but I am convinced you will find alot of her music fantastic, so I hope you continue exploring her talent. Take care and see you in the next one! 🌹
Your expression on what to expect from children performers, is the exact reason you will really enjoy “I put a spell on you” (black n white version btw)
Angelina speaks three languages English in a third language plays five instruments been reading and writing English since she was five she’s a prodigy he does things not expect it you can’t teach it it’s a given gift
Just watch “ I Put A Spell On You”!🎼👍🏼 I enjoyed this reaction 👍🏼🤗
Also at this time, Angelina is learning the Norwegian language and the English language
Angelina was Devinley Made for the Lords Heavenly's Choir. God Seen Our World is so Full of Hatred and Chaos. So God sent here as a Gift to Soothe Our Hearts from these Angry Times. You should react to the other 3 songs she performed during this Norways Got Talent 7yrs.
At 6yrs her first performance in the Studio was.unreal I Who Have Nothing.
Put a Spell on You are 9yrs Paying Homage to Screaming Jay Hawkings.
Great reaction and insight my man 🙂. Stay with her, you will NOT regret it!!!
Quincy Jones said Angelina has the same musical intelligence that Michael Jackson had, she sang for him on his birthday.
"I Put a Spell on You" is AJ in beast mode at age 9 and a half. Good luck maintaining your composure!
Give Angelina a chance to prove that yes, she can evoke the adult emotions in "I Put a Spell on You" with a passion the likes of which you have never seen before. Yes, she defies all logic!
Angelina's 'secret sauce' at this age is empathy. Of course she has not yet lived through the trials and tribulations of an adult life but she has listened closely and repeatedly to the jazz greats of the past baring their souls on record ... Ella, Etta, Nina etc. She's probably discussed the meaning of the lyrics and the underlying emotions with her grandma, who has added her own lifetime's experience and, according to Angelina's own testimony in interviews ... she hears their pain, their disappointment, their regrets in the voices and absorbs it into her interpretation. Some educators believe a child has experienced most of life's big emotions, personal challenges, successes and failures, love and hate, by the age of six. If Angelina was simply repeating a carefully rehearsed rendition of 'Summertime', perhaps the creation of relentlessly ambitious parents or a voice coach, there would be no magic ... she would not be inducing shivers down your spine and generating millions of fans around the world. R (Australia)
I'm not sure that 'Spell' is believable passion - more a dramatic performance, a more musical Screaming Jay style. I find her real emotional connection comes with her gentler song such as Welcome To My World, If You Go Away, Love Story or How Great Thou Art and many more.
Here’s a suggestion that might change your mind about a child’s interpretation of mature lyrics. Cue up “I Put a Spell on You”, by Angelina-and then don’t watch the video. ua-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/v-deo.html Turn away from the screen and just listen. Then decide whether the singer you heard is interpreting the lyrics authentically-or artistically-or emotionally. Whatever values you want to apply… You’ll see, I believe, that her amazing voice is only one part of the package. She delivers lyrics like no one else, and she does it by inhabiting whatever genre she chooses. Her cover of I Put a Spell on You, with a live jazz band behind her, is her own arrangement, and it’s a tribute to Screamin Jay Hawkins. Tell us what you heard.
You don't get this good if you get distracted. I've watched Angiline sing for over 6 years and I've never seen her get distracted. You will see if you keep watching. She will teach you a thing or 2. This is one of the smartest girls I've ever seen. You will be astonished by her story. 🇺🇲😎👍💯🌟
Everybody gets distracted. It’s human. And so is she. Thanks for watching!
@@tnae I think you might be wise to listen to Angels who have spent hundreds of hours listening to this incredible prodigy. She is never distracted..she becomes the song. I know it’s hard but my advice is for you to park your “rules” when it comes to Angie. This is not a criticism aimed at you. I felt exactly the way you did until I discovered this once in a lifetime prodigy.
She started singing jazz at one and a half years of age she saying I have nothing who have nothing at six and recording studio by Tom Jones when she flickers her eyes she said she’s going to a special place for the music there were the judges called her she has music at all gonna say to you I’ve been a vocal coach trainer for 25 years I’ve never seen a little girl like this with that raw talent and talent now she’s 16 and her voice is stellar
Your reaction was honest, and you seem to understand the super loyalist fans. I agree about Input a spell on you would be next as it is truly amazing. Best wishes to you and Angelina will draw more visitors to your site. Take care👍👍
Well, I am surprised by your report of past experiences of reacting to Angelina. This reaction was very articulate and thoughtful. I agree with your insights regarding her advanced stage persona and vocal performance. The judges in the Norways Got Talent made note of these things as well. Vocal coaches reacting to this and other performances made note of her natural and organic method of emoting as well as her advanced techniques in vocal control. These same coaches often mention that she uses her voice to serve the music and not the other way around. Her sense of musicality is evident in these early performances and it continues to grow. Between the ages of 6 and 16 (her current age), she has experimented with many genres, and her catalog of UA-cam, Instagram, and TikTok performances now numbers over 160. It is almost a bottomless rabbit hole of music. And for me, an old grizzled male of 79 years, she is probably the best vocalist/performer/artists I have ever heard. So...thanks for your time and effort...just push forward fearlessly into Angelina's catalog of music! Goosebumps are served up many, many times...
I really appreciate your kind words. I do try to give as much to these videos as I would were I speaking to a client or a student back in the pre-pandemic days. I am looking forward to navigating my way through her catalogue. I hope you’ll come along for the ride!
@@tnae WOW! This comment made my day! Please give Angelina a few more shots, she is definitely worth it :-) After those shots I believe you'll be more or less self-driven LOL Love from Norway :-)
I love your reactions 💗☺️
It has been proven in scientific studies that there are people including very young children who have a higher empathy accuracy, this I believe applies to ANGELINA. Quote " people who are more accurate at reading another person's emotions are better able to understand what a MUSICIAN is trying to convey through their compositions . those with a higher empathetic accuracy are better able to feel emotions conveyed through music " / source, southern methodist University.
She turned 8 during the few months of the show.. so she's 8 here. She is now 16.
You really need to react to “I Put a Spell on You”. It will blow your mind. It’s incredible. Thanks for a fantastic reaction.
She can do anything with her voice and give you the chills. 👍 Love from Norway 🇳🇴
You need to react to her interpretation of I Put A Spell On You, the black and white version, it will rock your world. It is an Iconic performance that will leave even you speechless. Thanks for your reactions.
There are some people who insist, a kid cannot channel emotions she never experienced yet. Yet she always found a way to connect to the songs and do it anyway, reducing grown hard adults to tears. Of course its on a whole different level when backed by "real" emotions. But I've got a hard time watching her breaking down that way, you can feel her heart breaking, it hurts.
I put a Spell on you is fun to watch for the sheer attitude and mind for channeling the original alone. I've seen pro musicians reacting to it uniliterally getting the biggest grin their face can produce, most others are left with an open mouth, some even stuttering😂.
Great reaction Brandon. Very true about the times she is really “in the zone”, and really feeling the music…I think you will discover the sheer enormity of the way she can sing all sorts of different genres, and make them her own.
Thank you, T! I really hope you like it. Again, I’m sorry it took so long. There were so many moments when she just should not have been as “in it” as she was. It just isn’t usually something you see in someone even a little older than she was here. It was pretty impressive.
@@tnae Hi dear.
if I can I suggest you to watch.
morissette amon.
akin kana lang, live on FM radio 107.5 of wishes.
a performance still unbeaten.🤷♂️
it opens your mind and makes you understand who is in charge today in the world.😉
Great reaction! Also about being kind if one needs to disagree. (Anyway, I agree with most of your thoughts about her). There is a difference between being a fan and being a (intolerant) fanatic! Unfortunately some of the commentators are fanatic, almost agressive! In a way Angelina is an angel, but she is not a saint! But hey, you'll find these agressive people everywhere on the internet ;-)
I do believe she is the most versatile singer I ever heard, and the combination of voice(s), musicality and story telling is absolutely unique! She moved many people deeply with her performances, thus far a somewhat older generation. due to her choices of mostly older jazzy music! But she can sing all kinds of pop music too! Voice teachers are indeed impressed with her technique and voice!
I hope you keep reacting to her. It's really fun and interesting to follow her journey! Doesn't have to be chronologically!
That was a most interesting reaction and comments. Have literally watched 1000's of reactors to this young lady and I enjoyed your insights and comments very much, a bit different than the usual. And yes, many many vocal coaches and most any reactor will talk about her age in video and how far advanced she is as a vocalist. Angelina has said that she is most comfortable being on stage and never wants to leave, she was born with this insane talent and ability to sing to you, not at you. You mentioned "I Put A Spell On You", Angelina's cover of Screamin Jay Hawkins 1956 song at 9 years old. Do not be afraid, as you shall see that she created (her arrangement to honor Screamin Jay) a masterpiece of music the likes of which may never be seen again, at least not by a 9 year old little girl. Hope to see that come up in your reactions, look forward to it. New Sub here.
Her cover of I Put a Spell on You is a true masterpiece.
See her in BEAST mode, black and white version, at 9 years old.
And keep in mind she does her own arrangements.
Watching Angelina sing is is a beautiful thing. :)
Thank you for your reaction. The mayority of Angelina’s fans are nice people. So sorry if someone has criticized you inappropiately.
New suscriber here, hoping you’ll continue with your Angelina’s reaction soon.
Welcome. Thank you. And I think I will.
This was another very good reaction/analysis. I'm glad I subscribed. BTW, it's easy to discern the actual Angelina Jordan fans from the trolls or wannabes. The actual fans may or may not agree with you but they will always be respectful and considerate. That's just what she does to us. It's part of our conversion. 😊 Remember, when you are watching these performances, Angelina had major input into the composition and arrangement, even on NGT (as one of the judges revealed in an interview). Thank you for taking another look and being willing to soldier on.
Yes I’ve seen that in a lot of comments. And it’s amazing that she is that involved at such a young age. This would lend itself to her being a true prodigy. I’m excited to see where her career goes as she gets older.
Unbelievable at that age
"I Put a Spell on You " is the next one you must react to ! Close your eyes and just listen to her voice ! You will be astounded ! If you happen to watch the video you will be mind blowin ! ! The visual video and her voice are so unreal it's unbelievable ! She is an old soul and a fearless sincere and passionate young artist ! Please watch that video at 9 years old ! Thank you for your wonderful and heartfelt reaction and analysis of our barefoot princess ! Get on the train and enjoy this journey of joy and happiness that Angelina will take you on ! 🤗👍🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️
Great reaction my friend, i like it when reactors are honest , and don't just say things that will give them automaticly * Likes * ; )) Agreed with u that Angelina's Voice do not fit her young little body, but that's just makes her even more amazing ; ) What's blows me away the most is her incredible musicality at that young age, at age 8 sing perfect English ....that's her 3rd language btw ; ) Like someone below said * I put a spell on you * ( black an white version ) defines all logic when it comes to what 9 year old girls should sounds like hehehe Have a good one take care an stay safe ; ))
Great comment ! :-)
And loin she’s flat out amazing in pure talent, me and my buddy’s in school, we’re close enough to do killer shows, of big bad era/swing. Not that we were better, even goes back to jr highschool, or just before, yes we were good, the best in the are, just how it was, not that me or them are super amazing, we’re just good, best around and practiced like it, now of we had her singing for us, would put us over the top. We were one of the few 20 yrs ago and a little more, ago, dang big band/swing and all that, 5 of us. On instruments, at times, the full up band depending on song and solo or not.
I will tell you that all of your comments about child singers will be demolished when you hear her do I Put a Spell on You at age 9. It is likely the greatest vocal performance ever recorded by a nine-year-old!
Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction to Angelina. I definitely want to hear more from you!
Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.
She is now 16, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records over a year ago. She is not widely promoted yet, however, as her family has decided to wait until she graduates school, so she has a normal childhood. Here is a link from ages 6 to 16 to all her 165 chronological performances, including five originals.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot?
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina penetrates hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I trust this will cause you to embrace her as millions of others have, and that you will continue down the rabbit hole from which you will not want to escape. Peace and love.

Thank you for your reaction. 3 - 4 years ago it was like a war zone in the comment section. Fans of Angelina, Dimash and Diana Ankudinova terroriest the other. It created a very dificult work situation for reactors. The real fans of the singers worked hard in the comment section to stop it and we did stop it. Back then an attack against a reactor almost always was from other singers fans. As you sayed Angelina would not like it, we "Angels" told Angelinas fans to remember that they was angels, Dimashs "Dears" told their fans that Dimash who has withdrawn from competision because he would not compet against children would be very angry if they attacked a litle girl. I hope it never goes back to that time.
Really nice reaction, her version of “I put a spell on you” will melt your brain and change your perspective.
Lovely reaction and analysis! It is so refreshing with a new take and angle on this little marvel. And yes, you should be afraid of her «I Got a Spell on You» (BW video at 9) - but not for the reason you think. Be prepared to fall off that ball!
Angelina does a live version at age 10 with a full orchestra that is stunning.
That is one of my favorites. Ofcourse anything she sung at 10 was a phenom.
Yes, that one is definitely one of my favorite performances by her :-)
8 years old here.
This is when Angelina was 7-8yo, during the Norway's Got Talent in 2013-14 (which she won!).
Fantastic reaction. And, to your run down on kids and conveying strong emotions, I just cannot way for your go at "I put a spell on you". Have fun :)
She is totally on mood, she can noticed things around and still feel it all while she is singing, because she is too calm, things she noticed around dont call real atention or judging, she is naturally in conection with no need of an act, u cant compare with Lara Fabian, Hua Chenyu, Diana Ankudinova, and others who are actors while they are singing.
Brandon, thank you for looking at Angelina again on your channel. Another view or two of Angelina and you will realize that she is NOT an actor/performer. She is a singer/vocalist. Most of what she will emote comes from the texture and nuance of her vocals, combined with only minimal physicality to support the musical story line. I enjoyed this reaction and I also enjoyed your Million Miles reaction. I totally agree with your last comments here ... the harshness that can come from some Angelina fans would not be appreciated by Angelina herself. And it does more to damage Angelina's image than to improve it. That said ... I did think that YOU were too harsh on Angelina in that particular studio version of Million Miles based on how little you knew/know about Angelina. As with any artist, it is the body of work that matters the most, and droning negativity about any one performance is likely uncalled for.
If you want to hear the judge's final summations and comments about how little Angelina has impacted them, here's the link to that video. It has English CC and is broken down into 4 parts. These include a NGT Spotlight on Angelina, her performance, the judge's remarks, and then the selection of a winner. Here are the time breakdowns: Spotlight 0-1.40 mins; performance of "Summertime" 1.40-4.20; judges summation 4.20-8.00; winner selected 8.00-12.48. I've also linked her audition video (NGT 1) which has English subtitles. I recommend watching all her audition, as it is priceless. Watching the mussy haired, barefoot, snaggle toothed 7 year old try unsuccessfully try to climb into the interview chair shows just how little she is. Here are all the links:
NGT 1 - "GLOOMY SUNDAY" (pre/post performance English subtitles) - ua-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/v-deo.html
NGT 2 - "I'M A FOOL TO WANT YOU" (sung entirely in acapella to judges alone) - ua-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/v-deo.html
NGT 3 - "BANG BANG" cover of Nancy Sinatra's rendition - ua-cam.com/video/cSEO3IMVtCI/v-deo.html

This was the last of her four performances on Norway's Got Talent. She won, of course. If you compare her first and last performances there , you will see a significant improvement in both her confidence and her voice. She grew up very fast.
Don't make the mistake of minimizing her soft presentation of
Gloomy Sunday, for she is actually emulating Billie's rendition
in very 'close to identical' way. If Billie had recorded it with a sense of
more power, I'm sure our little 'vocal chameleon' would have done
it as well. I don't know if we will ever fully understand the extent of
her genius at the very start of her singing career. If I start 'babbling'
about her unmatched by anyone......ever, multi-genre singing ability,
my family will probably have the men in the white coats come to get
me, for once I start talking about Angelina's overall abilities, I'm like a
'non stop' faucet.
This presentation is very much 'on point' with Ella Fitzgerald's version
where Louis Armstrong accompanied her with his iconic trumpet.
Angelina looks like a young 'southern belle' standing on her rich daddy's
plantation, singing aloud. Her vocal delivery is simply mesmerizing !
Actually, at 8:54 in this video you can hear her almost whispering to herself a part that Louis did in that rendition. Well spotted :-)
@@poolhallshark I love the showing of Grandma Mery extending
what looks like a cardboard poster in the audience at NGT that
mentions 'Queen Of Jazz', accompanied by a photo of Louis
blowing his trumpet with his cheeks looking like expanded balloons.
@@ridgemanron Yeah. Awesome :-))
Don't pay any attention to the negative! YOUR channel your reaction not theirs,do what you do , these negative comments by people that don't know what you know are just haters. SWIPE left!
You are on point, sir!
The emotional connection, ability to transmit , emote the inner meaning and soul of the songs she interprets are stunning for a singer of any age - and totally incomprehensable for a little child.
You will probably get to see some of her home recordings, where she is sitting down with a guitarrist, reading the words of a tablet and pulling totally mindblowing performances in one take at ages 10-12 y. She speaks 5 languages, and is the youngest published author in Norway at age 9 - that tells you something?
I don’t know what you reacted to from her first, but from this performance she only improves at an amazing rate. By the time she is ten she can hold an audience in the palm of her hand.
By the way, this is her arrangement, as have been most since, with the exception of some early home recordings to karaoke tracks.
Her eyes weren't wandering. She looked across to the musician to ensure they were in sync, as an accomplished singer should do.
You might be mistaken but Angelina very often goes to another place and her eyes don't look in focus. If you look at a concert pianist they often do it as they remember the score.
Fantastic reaction that's what I'm after, a honest reaction! The reason you see her looking around, she is paying attention for she does all the arrangements, yes at that age! The young male Judge, I forget his name, but in an interview he said he went to the rehearsal of her 3rd song, "Bang Bang", and saw her giving directions to the Base Player, coaching what she wanted. It was at that time he said she is the real deal! When she got in that hug position you referred to, she was entering her make believe world she goes to when she sings. React to "I Put A Spell On You", the Black and White version, you will be blown away. She was 9 years and 2 months old when she recorded it. When watching it you will see her hand a paper to the Producer, those were last minute changes to her arrangement. Stop as many times as you want, I want to see your reaction favorable or not, but honest, God Bless!
Yeah a reaction should be the first time you hear a performance.
Angelina is a prodigy she Aran all the music lyrics and I put a spell on you at age of nine they call her the boss girl she knows what she wants If you watch put a spell on you understand she arranged the whole thing at nine she’s a prodigy she sings was given to her spirit can’t be taught he went to Sanger school to grade school got the lessons guitar lessons flute lessons so on but she did little different you’ve used it I have for prodigy I work with they can’t be taught they have it they’re born with it
I've strolled through other young singers' videos and reactions and none of them are on the same planet as Angelina. It's quite baffling how much versatility of extreme talent Angelina has in every aspect of singing and performing. Apologies to all of the other singers trying to excel but you all can get much schooling from Angelina.
A good advice: don’t look at Angelina as a normal child. She choses her songs herself and she is not formed by anyone else. If you are reacting to I Put a Spell On You, you can se her handing a paper to the bandleader. That is her last minute directions for the arangement of the song. Age 9…
Hey don’t worry, she is amazing, super talented, I just hope she isn’t taken advantage of like most child stars. I won’t say is or isn’t, as I don’t know who’s in charge of her legally, so if can’t say. She can definitely sing to an amazing level, and love anyone heard she’s done, so great, and to am extent beyond her years in performance to life, by a lot.
From 6 to 16 AJ has song like an adult that is destined to be the greatest, not just female, STORYTELLING vocalist of ALL TIME. You must experience the 16-year-old version of this genius with her version of My Funny Valintine dropped on Feb 14 of 22.
Speaking 4 myself- -I tend 2 b convinced that when one chooses 2 ignore as unimportant the artist' flow & deliberate arrangement of their performance, that one has then missed the essential performance necessarily.
This is my objection 2 stopping & starting a 1st time listen.
How could you have heard what she intended/presented? Do u see what I'm pointing out?
This aside, I like ur comments & generous spirit & will subscribe; u're interesting.
Yes, I do see exactly what you’re saying. I am glad you’ve decided to subscribe, thank you. All I can say is that, like each of theee artists as they prepare their interpretations of these songs, I have a particular goal and hopefully and using the most effective means of reaching that goal. I hope as you watch more of my videos that my intentions as well as the reasoning for my methods become clear.
Please know that if I stop a song a few seconds in and have a thought, I am completely open to saying, just a few moments later, “wow, I was completely off base and I’m an idiot, lol”. I defiantly will get some things wrong. No doubt of that. My goal is simply to be transparent in my thought process. To share my observations and opinions as I have them, not only my final conclusions.
Thanks again for subscribing.
I think you can listen to her "Iput A Spell on You" Quincy Jones said of Angelina Jordan when she sang on his birthday, that she had the same musical intelligence from childhood that Michael Jackson had. Thanks
Angel fans can be possessive and protective so take everything said with a grain of salt. Million Miles, while not her first original, it was with Republic records so her presentation would be greatly affected by their coaching. Taking the fact that she cried through the first couple of times recording( she had just lost her second grandfather in a couple of years and was a close knit relationship) and trying to follow their coaching probably had that effect of being a bit off. Just a little Bio on her to help understand how she is where she is. Her grandmother is her primary mentor and introduced her to Jazz at 1 years old. Angelina on her own took to the music and exceled. No one gets that good that young not loving what they are doing. she knows at least 5 languages, first recorded at 6 doing "I have nothing" also at 6 she came across a girl her age in the streets of Iran, a girl her age weighting people with a bathroom scale to make money for her family. The girl had no shoes and scared feet. Angelina struck up a conversation with her and the girl told her she liked her shoes. Angelina gave the girl her shoes and promised her she would not wear shoes while she performed till all kids had shoes. She is the youngest published author in Norway for writing a story about it and has sung at the Nobel peace prize awards and at 16 now she still does not wear shoes when she performs. Quite extraordinary eh. Don't be scared off of "i put a spell on you" note when she does it at the start she is writing. She is doing her own arrangement.
Wonderful reaction,I enjoyed your insights and look forward to I put a Spell on You.Man do I ever look forward to that one!
Thanks for coming back to Angelina.
I'm pretty darn sure this is the last performance on NGT competition... and sealed the deal, wins it (as she states in her performance get to know you with Heidi Klum) that she was 7yrs old when she won... And don't be nervous...the Fans can be very passionate about how Angelina is viewed... But I hope you just pretend you're a duck, and let the water roll right off your wings.. this was a good reaction, honest; hope you listen to the blk/white version of I Put a Spell On You... you'll see/hear what lit up/ started the wave... She was 9 yrs old at the time... Hope you don't back away...
Thank you encouragement. I haven’t decided yet but I really hope I get the chance to move forward through her catalogue.
her first studio recording ( at age 6 ) I who have nothing - will blow your socks off or her Im still holding out for you at age ten..
She is 8. She won Norway's got talent with this performance. She is a true prodigy. Record companies and even Disney tried to sign her then.
A good reaction with some interesting insights. Please do some more Angelina, perhaps some of her current performances, she is 16yo now.
There's a contingent of fans of Angelina who're a minority but extremely vocal and frankly creepy and obsessive. I'd recommend not letting them put you off of reacting to more. I Put a Spell On You in particular is absolutely incredible.
I’ve been watching reactions to Angie for over two years and what I’ve noticed is a small army of passionate and informed Angels who wear their heart on their sleeve. I’ve not seen any “creepy” fans at all.
Angelina's hardcore fans are passionate, that's for sure. And a few might go overboard, sometimes, but she an affect on some people that it's kind of hard not to get excited about. I'm one of those, I'm afraid, although I do try not to be too expressive or, especially, 'creepy.' But I have to say; now that she's a grown young woman, the creepiness is going to start to creep in.
The problem with some reactors is that they forget to do it "weight for age" when reacting to Angelina. They expect her to sing like an adult, which is impossible at age 7,8,9,10.... The focus should be on confidence, comprehension, and emotion. Angelina goes well beyond that. Her voice abilities, her arrangements, and the respect she pays to the originals, along with her songwriting simply sets her apart from anyone else. The only artist remotely close to her might be Faouzia. Your thoughts?
@@murtheblur No, they don't. Seriously, you can't actually believe that. In every one of these cases the reactors go out of their way to make it clear that her performance was extremely impressive. But if they mention one or two things that weren't literally perfect, the mob freaks the fuck out and starts harassing them.
@@grammar_antifa I suggest you look at more reactors.
great reaction! keep it up!
A child prodigy, Angelina began singing at 16 months old. She prefers the old jazz masters, Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Whitney. At 3 years old, she set her sights on performing for Simon Cowell on AGT (a dream she fulfilled 10 years later). She's often seen closing her eyes, to which Angelina responded that she goes away to a special place where the music is. From amongst her 160 covers and 5 originals (all by the age of 15), there are two that stand out in a field of outstanding music. The performance you're reacting to today cinched her victory on Norway's Got Talent. This made Angelina eligible to audition for America's Got Talent The Champions. At 13 years old she auditioned with her own rendition of Queen's 1975 hit "Bohemian Rhapsody". This rendition earned a golden buzzer and Angelina even got a tweet from Queen congratulating her on the performance.
In the next "must hear" song, she arranged the music and lyrics to "I Put a Spell on You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins (1956). Although this song is a standard jazz staple, Angelina skipped the line and went right to Jay's original performance for her inspiration. This black and white studio performance is considered by many as a masterpiece cover of Jay's original performance, all at the age of 9 years and 2 months old. Vocal coaches reacting to this performance are almost incredulous of her ability. A nine year old girl simply shouldn't be able to sing as she does in this performance. She has the vocals, the emotive despair and emotion, the control, and the genius to pull it off, and we just can't say how she does it. They put it down to a gift that Angelina was born with. It just can't be trained.

Angelina is a child prodigy, who began singing at 16 months old. She listened to all the great jazz and blues masters along with Adele and Amy Winehouse, listening to her grandmother's records and watching UA-cam. She learned piano, flute, violin, and guitar at school. Her vocal experience appears to consist of critiquing recordings she performed in the school's studio booth. She's been called an old soul time and again. She signed with Republic Records because they gave her complete artistic license and timing. Angelina has been under the radar as her parents insisted that she enjoyed a normal childhood. Knowing that their daughter is called to sing, they select about 10% of the requests. Angelina turned 16 this January and lives in Los Angeles with her parents, her little sister Juliette, and her grandmother.
- The Barefoot Princess of Jazz -
Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz". She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio recording. The story is that when living in the Middle East, at age 6, she came across an orphaned girl sitting in the street, earning money by weighing people on a bathroom scale. She noticed how really cold it was and that the little girl was not only barefoot, but had scars on her feet. So 6 year old Angelina took off her own shoes, shoes that she said she loved, and gave them to the girl. Angelina decided she wouldn't wear shoes in her performances to remind her of all the children in the world who had no parents, proper clothes, or shoes. She considers her agemate every time she takes off those shoes.
Of the encounter, little 6 year old Angelina wrote in her diary: “The world is very strange. Right then and there I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.” In 2015, at 9 years of age, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter since everyone was asking why she sang barefooted (making her the youngest published author in Norway). Angelina has helped raise over 21 million euros and millions of dollars for children focused charities. Angelina now lives in Los Angeles, CA, with her parents, her little sister Juliette, and her grandmother, Mery Zamani (also a child prodigy, but in poetry and art). Mery has designed all of Angelina's performance attire, including the colorful ensemble for her AGTC audition.

Nice info, but it's not German but Swedish, her dad is Swedish (Christian Slatter)
English was her 3rd language she learned
@@ooshta In a 2014 interview with a German television station we were told that Angelina was learning German in school. So that means 6 languages then.
@@Christian-DH yea I remember, but when she went to Germany for their little big shots show, she couldn't speak it and it was translated or spoken in English, goes for the Japanese too. So she's not fluent in it, maybe she can speak some words but not enough to say she's fluent enough to add as a language. That's why I always say 4+ languages. It's accurate and says she can sing and speak in 4+. Until Angie herself says what and how many. It's best to be safe.
@@ooshta She pretended not to understand German on that show (an easier route for her since she doesn't like interviews). A behind the stage segment showed Angelina speak with the German/Norwegian interpreter girl, in a mix of Norwegian and German. In a much earlier segment on German TV they interviewed her in German and she responded in German (she was 8).
@@ooshta Yes she is fluent in Swedish. Her dads name is Gerry Christian Slättmann (Swedish as you say).
After these comments, I’d say you DEFINITELY need to react to “I Put a Spell On You” - DEFINITELY!
I missed your first reaction to Angelina, but I’ve now subscribed and I’m going hunting for it to see what upset so many. Btw I’ve subscribed.
Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this sweet little norwegian girl (now 16 y old) is imo the best singer on this planet! 🤩
In her style. And Amira in hers.
She is a child prodigy. If you still want to see the end of this performance, there is another video that shows the result of this Final. You did a great job. Don’t let the complainers bother you. As a reactor, you can stop the video as often as you feel the need. If they don’t like it, they can watch somewhere else or watch the original.
Do you have a link for that clip?
Your reluctance to listen to a 9-year-old girl singing to heartbreak is very logical, but if you haven't realized yet that you're not dealing with someone normal, listening to her will definitely convince you. In my opinion, and that of many more people, 'I put a spell on you' is one of the best videos on the net, her performance is as amazing as it's creepy, some define it as ridiculous, as an insult to pride professional of the consecrated singers.
If I could give two thumbs up, I would :D it was great. You HAVE TO react the I Put a Spell on You from her! I have never seen such a performance from anyone. You're gonna throw your hat away...
Oh yes ..."I put a spell on you"...legendary, iconic, who will certainly stay in the Historic Book of Music...and she made the arrangements...
AJ is able to capture the essence of a song, that was one of the. Best versions of Summertime, her cover of Bohemian Rhapsody was soo good that Queen allowed her to copyright her version!!!!!!
