It's hard to find anyone else with auditory tactile synesthesia, I just realized it's what I had when I looked it up a few weeks ago, I figured it was normal for everyone. For me the strongest sensations come from square wave style frequencies (like synths, engines etc). I feel a strong buzzing in my skin and depending on the frequency it moves from my face neck and shoulders into my hands or feet. Most of the time it's just funky and harmless but if the sound is just right and insense enough I feel off, almost ill and I'm afraid I could possibly have a seizure or something lol, it's never happened but it can get uncomfortable. What triggers yours the most?

i know this was commented a year ago, but i just had this same exact experience. i was doing some research and found myself on this channel the same way, and found out it wasn't a normal experience? haha. i experience it most with music, especially alternative or rock music. i also study contemporary music theory, so stuff that's especially theoretically-complex triggers me even more. i find that declan mckenna, twenty one pilots, and waterparks are also specific triggers of mine, in a positive way. other things, like little dark age by mgmt and the scott pilgrim vs the world soundtrack, are also triggers of mine, so mine tend to have quite a range. on top of audio-tactile synesthesia, i also sometimes can paint what music feels like to me, which is heavily present with declan mckenna's music. do you experience this too? or is yours strictly in your body?

@@tyemckinley2200 For me it's strictly in my body, it just feels like my skin is vibrating, my biggest trigger is small engines (like lawn mowers or go carts) but it can happen with any sound that is similar. This is unrelated but I've had weird experiences when I go to bed some nights, when I first lay down and close my eyes sometimes I see shapes in my mind, the shapes are different every time but there is always two of the same shape, one is massive with rounded features and the other is it's opposite, very very thin and sharp but the same shape, it's kind of uncomfortable because the large shape is so large I can't focus on it completely and the thin sharp shape is so sharp it's hard to see. I've never heard anyone else have this kind of experience except that one math guy that sees numbers as shapes, unfortunately for me I suck at math and I don't think there is any function to the shapes I see lol.

i have a similar visual thing when i'm falling asleep, but i always see bright green shapes with red dots. they're mostly just blobs, but sometimes they're circles. when i try to focus on them tho, they move, like i can only see them if not looking directly at them, kind of like really dim stars at night.

Why did I never comment on this? I love that you also have auditory tactile Synesthesia. We should talk.
