    They feel connected
So even them tripping feels endearing or cute /funny sometimes to somepeople that's it
I mean it's good to watch something you feel good to watch
    Whatever it may be
Rather here is a more interesting question why the hell is adipurush's box office collection estm at 354 crore despite being such nonsense
Or why is anime clips so popular
( i have never watched anime so i don't know, so if you didn't watch bangtan you won't know )

Nope. The reason why BTS became huge was they were at the right place at the right time during the boom of wifi, smartphones, and social media around 2016. They were the group that capitalized on the scene when Tiktok was starting, the new IG/FB trends, the 15 second video clips era, and youtubers era where "likes, views, plays, followers" are all that matter to became famous. There are way way more hardworking and talented groups than them. They aren't an exceptional group tbh. It just so happened that their pretty boy looks and gimmicks catered to the US teenagers that time when internet and technology took over. They sell fantasy to them (like all Kpop groups do) and again, it just so happened they came at the right time. If you put BTS on that 2010-2012 era, they'll be completely overshadowed by the likes of Bigbang and Super Junior. It was all luck for them thanks to wifi and internet. Not hating though. Been a kpop fan since 2007 and I'm just stating facts.

The one thing they did well is promoting in korea and internationally well keeping their music good durnibg their popularity era their reality shows too

If that was the case then why didn't groups like Exo, svt, got7 etc benefit from this too when they are contemporaries of BTS? Its not as if they are not pretty boys either, infact they had advantage in the kpop music being from the Big3(except svt). They capitalized the media BECAUSE they didn't have a fking choice since they were constantly cut from broadcasts in favor of big company groups. The audacity to say that a person who is IN the industry is wrong is hilarious, like I'm pretty sure Eric knows more than a random yt user.
Also media can only do so much, if BTS didn't have the music and talent to back em up then they would not be where they are today. Also what gimmicks did they do exactly? I'm curious. Lastly, stop being bitter, it's not a good look.

@@kuntalasen They were the ones who went viral that time and western people didn't know that there's tons of other more male groups. So by logic, they all flock to this viral pretty boy group thinking all of the other groups are the same. Plus, they have a 3 letter name that's easily to remember. And also, not a lot of groups have entered the US market yet coz they're doing well in Korea and in Asia. BTS is not one of them. They're a flop so they targeted the US market and got lucky. I'm 95% sure that majority of american BTS fans are casual and bandwagon kpop fans who only know 2-3 kpop groups. Them and Blackpink, mainly lol. And they have no knowledge of kpop history at all. Just accept it, that your idols are not exceptional in anyway. They got lucky they got billions of fans thanks to the internet.

      No, salty child.
From the beginning, RM, SUGA, and j-hope were specifically targeted for being "ugly" and not "idol material."
BTS (like every kpop group) does have fans that are in it for the looks. But millions of people (myself included) didn't bother checking them out because we assumed that looks was all they had going for them -- only to find I was completely wrong.
K-Con 2014 -- when BTS was rookies -- showed how they upstaged every other artist that year. That venue was full of people who already knew them because in one short year they actually connected with their fans instead of just cultivating the "untouchable perfection" of other idols.
It's a fact that Big Three groups were guaranteed success upon debut. They are tightly entwined with Korean media, so that media only promoted and showed the Big Three acts. Everyone else was D list filler. BTS included. They were allowed to get little awards as long as they weren't a threat.
BTS's success overseas blindsided the kpop microcosm and forced the media to admit that someone outside the Big Three was finding success. To this day that success is always spun with a sour grapes attitude -- which, unsurprisingly, sends a message to the Korean people that they're "not that great, really."
I *have* looked at EXO, Big Bang, Monsta X, etc etc.
They honestly were all the cliches that made me not take kpop seriously before. It felt like it was trying waaaaaay too hard to be sexy or flashy or edgy or saccharine.
Sure, some of BTS's rookie choices made similar mistakes, but that was part of the process of figuring out who they were and what they wanted to say.
BTS changed my mind about kpop -- and then I realized they are so much more than kpop.
