My guess is the first scene in the trailer is the opening scene in the movie, similar to Joe's opening scene, to show the overpass as the tragic backstory as well as what NOT to do
@@MeteoTechWx I am going to warn you Mother Nature watched the original 1996 movie Twister and then did exactly what was going on in that film and produced the most powerful tornado of all time on May-3-1999 so if Mother Nature watches this sequel to that movie she might produce another May-3-1999 like EF5 or stronger tornado
Hey guys, loved the reaction! I was lucky enough to be one the actual storm chasers that were hired to play a small part in the movie! You can spot me in a green hat and camouflage pancho standing behind the red dodge when we shout, "Chase it!" I can tell you the production crew were really passionate about making this grounded in modern science, and storm chasing, and about making a very entertaining blockbuster! Can't wait until everyone gets to see the whole thing in July. A lot to be excited about!! 🌪

If you want classic Hollywood film that make you laugh I would recommend the Sting film.
I believe they’re using CGI but it’s modern times now so the sound effects have been updated to the point where it looks very realistic now and I’m very excited for that
I think the underpass business is meant to be the prologue in the trailer to show that they’re inexperienced storm chasers and show the audience they are BAD. Cuz we can see she’s holding onto her dear life. She’s safe. She’s our new Helen Hunt. But her friends? Prayers.
I watched the original Twister with my 1 yr old Daughter at a drive in movie in 1996 in the Dallas Ft Worth area. There were storms around us the whole night, so that was fun! You and I had very much the same experience watching it that summer. LOL
Great video! We are excited for this movie and made a reaction video as well. If sounds like she had a bad experience chasing previously almost dying so maybe that's the context of them running for the overpass. I'd still expect someone chasing tornadoes with anemometers to know overpasses are bad. Can't wait to see the movie and find out! We'll also be seeing the original Twister in the theatre in Olds, Alberta which has been rented by storm chasers for a conference.
You mentioned that you watched "Twister" during a thunderstorm. I am reminded of an old tale that was told about how people were watching the film at a drive-in. And a tornado struck. But no confirmation whatsoever about whether or not it struck during the drive-in scene from the film. I have heard different whispers of rumors over the last few years about this new film "Twisters" but we can only wait and see. I too, am not all that enthused about what seems to be an overpass scene. Keep up the excellent work here on this channel. I'm fairly new here but enjoying evenings and late night binge watching here.
Twister got me into meteorology when I was younger (had a meteorological book my mom had bought me to read and learn from. No idea where it went. Pretty sure now it's out of date as it was a book made back in 2001 or so. Was meant to teach kids about meteorology and how storms function.). Wish I had gone to college to study and earn a degree in it. Watching you guys and other meteorologists has me contemplating going to get a degree in meteorology to finally do what I dreamed of doing when I was younger. I'm really hoping Twisters does good. So going to watch that in Theatres.
I have to satpy that the movie Twister is my all time favorite movie. I actually bought the Twister pinball machine. I cannot wait to see this one ! I would do anything to go out for one day with storm chasers just to get the full experience.
This movie looks amazing, just from watching the trailer alone. This and Godzilla x Kong the New Empire are the two movies that I'm most excited to go see.
@@MeteoTechWxyeah I heard that the tornadoes are based off some that Reed Timmer has chased. He actually was involved with the movie. Yes I’m excited too this looks amazing I definitely want to see it in theaters I wasn’t even born when the first one came out.
I was 12 in the original came out and my best friends and I used to pretend we were storm chasers. Now we live close by each other and our kids love the movie, so we're all going to together to see this one. As I really hope I'm not disappointed. The original is a tough fact to follow, and these actors have big shoes to fill.
The first Twister is without a doubt my favorite live action movie of all time because of how much of an inspiration it was to me.🌪️ I sadly got so caught up in finishing college I didn’t have time to go on UA-cam much but this was a great video to come back too now that I finally graduated
One thing i actually would think is i get it those storm chasers are trying to survive which usally hiding under highway passage does have consequence i felt like what they probably would done is if that EF5 tornado chase them i think they would run straight for the ditch since they probably would be fine
I believe this will be a good tornado movie. Maybe not as a Twister sequel, but as a general tornado movie I have high hopes. But god damn it if *"IF YOU FEEL IT, CHASE IT!!!"* doesn't become a famous qoute, i'm gonna be mad. (Also those are actually CGI tornadoes in the trailer! Fooled me first time I watched it too)
Ok there’s an old video of a tv camera crew trying to out drive a tornado, then they come to an overpass with a couple other people and tell them “hang on to the girders”. Tornado comes, they hang on, and they’re all ok. So what, were they just lucky?
Best way is to learn from a storm chaser who has been doing it safely for years! A meteorology degree definitely helps, but the NWS offers a Storm Spotter class if you’re not looking to go to school. You learn a lot about what to look for in storms in that class and you get a certification after completing it.
You can tell people to not hide under an overpass all you want but the truth is in reality if it happens to you you are going to instinctively go for a shelter rather than a ditch.
To be fair there is a ditch under the overpass, in a vehicle you aren't safe under there but it may very well have been their best option as they were in an open field off of the road
I love Tyler Owens’s character is badass I love his truck and how it’s a reference to Bill’s legendary 1994 dodge ram 2500 , he reminds me of Alec Baldwin’s Zane character from supercell and desert jack from tremors 3 back to perfection owner of desert jacks grabiod adventures
Remember, in 1999 Reed released his footage from Moore that he and his fresh meat storm chasers took cover under an overpass and almost regretted that decision.
Hiding under an overpass is extremely dangerous as the overpass tends to funnel the winds and debris under it. You would be better off laying down in a ditch and hoping for the best.

Ooooh that’s a good theory!
@@MeteoTechWx If that is so, then the tornado that they are going to use is the Bridge Creek-Moore F5.

Try it during a tornado emergency next, cause that's obviously the best thing to do in that situation

There is no actual tornado footage in this trailer
and still when the winds blowing her hair isnt blowing in the wind just as the original movie.
An overpass probably would be an option of extreme last resort, if there was nothing else available.
