i have a new favorite song ❤ This brings up such a mix of feelings.... transitions of endings and new beginnings... possibility ahead, reminiscent of the past, solemn, embracing, melloncollie, hopeful. transfixed... not to be negative, but when i do eventually die, i would want it played, or covered, at my funeral...
My father just passed away and I too thought of this song. xo I don't think it's negative to think this could be played in the final stages of life on earth... Its so moving. Sarah is a treasure. It's been a joy to follow her since her High School days.. So much talent. Peace.

Beautiful as always. But, Sarah is best when it is her voice and whatever instrument she is playing. All the stuff producers add, flutes and obes and such, are all just distraction from the Beautiful music Sarah is making.
i understand your perspective, and agree to an extent. the only part i would keep the woodwinds here is maybe during the interlude. overall would be just as powerful of a piece as a full acoustic version.
I cannot argue that Ms. Jarosz has a captivating and magical presence while performing pieces solo. However, I would like to add that there is a very good chance that she has ultimate control of the product she releases for us to enjoy. Perhaps she created this piece with all of these embellishments in mind, and despite her obvious talent, is physically unable to create the full effect without involving production. As already mentioned, her future solo versions of this song will be amazing; equally amazing. Thankfully, we are all entitled to select a favorite version of her music.
