- When the video starts the baby elk is about to be wounded by the wolf but gets away and some distance. Soon after hearing the baby Elk crying the grizzly bear decides to go after the baby elk and no regard for eloquence or the wolf. At the end of the video the elk gains some distance but ends up on shore with wolf waiting on the train tracks and the grizzly bear eventually catching up. Not sure exactly who wins but its definitely not the elk.
What would have been funny is if the bear was just like ¨To hell with this baby elk, those two dumbasses above that bridge look like easier prey.¨ And the bear would have been 100% correct in that observation lol

Nature is amazing, and EVERYTHING has to eat, even baby bears. (I'm assuming since it was a moose calf, there would be bears cubs too)
I live in the country, and there are critters everywhere out here, but only once have I seen another animal kill for food, except one day, a coyote grabbed one of my free-range chickens. It was in the late spring, so I believe she needed to feed her pups.
We have a cougar that lives here and a gazillion of coyotes, but since I bought my farm in 1996 they have NEVER snatched one of my farm animals.
There's plenty of deer here too, so they have plenty to eat.
But, if I witnessed a "kill", I would find it interesting, and a fascinating part of nature...I would never find it funny.
Brother in law lived in BC years ago. Let his 2 little dogs out in the backyard to pee and a cougar came and got one.
There must be plenty of food where you are. Usually wildlife will take the easy way when i comes to food

The bear was right under them on their side of the river at the beginning of the vid. They are lucky. Bear hunting food for a reason. It will almost always go for the easiest source.

Thirty-five years ago my daughter and I explored Alberta from Banff to Jasper. It is indeed spectacular. "Awesome" fits it, or at least what the word awesome meant for centuries before it was trivialized by people with no past. We canoed on placid, emerald Lake Louise. This water is not the lake. It may be the Athabasca River, which has swift currents and a cataract along the Icefields Parkway, which I'd guess is this road.
