I know for a lot of people it can be hard to imagine how good past players were compared to current, but you simulated it perfectly.
They don't ALWAYS win, but they always make one hell of a showing.
They're both amazing passers, and they're playing 1 on 1. Hard to showcase what makes them both great. I know they can both put the ball in the hoop with the best of them, but tons of players can do that. Their passing is what makes them unique.

Magic Johnson is taking this one easily. Magic was taller, more athletic, and may be even more skilled. Magic Johnson was the closest thing to a Lebron James back in the day. He could play all 5 positions.
But could he space the floor?
He’s taller and more athletic but not a great defender, so he’s definitely not gonna slow luka down and on offense it’s not like he’s gonna use a mean handle to blow by luka. I think it could go either way because magic has that hook shot in the post that’s kinda unstoppable against luka, but luka could also win if he’s hot from 3 or just gets to his spots in the paint.

I am pretty sure that is no longer the case after yesterdays' game, even though they won.
Such is why that comparison kind of lacks scope, Doncic hasn't played anywhere close to a whole career yet. Though it's great that he can set such a high precedent so early in his career, that does feel plenty rare all the same.
