- My review of the Yonex Nanoflare 1000Z badminton racket.
This is a brand new, top-of-the-range racket and will therefore attract a lot of attention. The big question is how does it play? How does it feel compared to other rackets in the Yonex range? In this video I answer those questions detailing my experience of the racket so far.

I got this racket today. I could already see the difference in power, touch and control in comparison to my other racket. Top class racket.
Oh my oh my.. Sir Paul is finally back for his badminton racket review. I have been waiting for your videos for soooooo long. Keep up the good work again, Sir Paul.
That’s very kind of you to say! It’s been a tough three years since Covid
Nice to see the reviews back Paul. I'm on my last ZSlash (still have the V70 as a backup) so will be getting something new in the next while. This one looks nice.
Great to hear from you! I needed time off from all this stuff, I just didn’t have the heart for it after 2020. I am writing coaching articles again but it’s hard work at the moment and should be easy. Obviously not time to release yet
Can't wait for the 1000game review. I saw some comments on forums "NF700 with lower price", "High End Killer", "Low end feeling when you hit the shuttlecock.", "If looking for a mid-flex shaft, an aero frame, a 1000z outfit, go for the PLAY." Thank you for reviewing not only the flagship model.
I have recorded a comparison video. I prefer the feel of the z but would love to combine the head with a medium flex.
Your review was really well done👍 I instantly bought the 1000z after read your review on your website. I've been trying out so many yonex rackets since the z-speed was no longer available. Among the those rackets I've tried, the 1000z ranks as one of the best for sure.
I'm really glad I came across your youtube channel. Keep up the great work!
Many thanks for your kind compliment. Good luck with your new racmet
What's your racket weight? How about backcourt clears, hard or easy to generate?
@@RaffMo12 I love the racket and don’t have an issue from the rear court.
@@TheBadmintonCoach and you prefer this racket than 100zz? For 4u weight sir
@@RaffMo12 I've just changed from 100zz to 1000z (4u). I feel like 1000z gives me more control, yet the power is still there. However, it is highly dependent on the player's ability level.
great review sir. keep it up.
Many thanks.
Looking forward to Game comparison.
It will be released soon
Hi Paul,
Nanoflare 1000z vs Jetspeed 10,
Which one will you choose?
Since we couldn't compare with LinDan Force or 100zz (different line up).
Many thanks for sharing.
Both are great rackets. I would have to choose Nanoflare for my preferences
Not related to 1000z but would you recommend Astrox Nextage for intermediate players? Great video btw!
I love the Nextage! I have recorded a video but need to re-record as there was an issue with the first.
Thank you Paul. Which one you are using 3U or 4U? I heard they feel totally different. Which one you recommend 3U or 4u? Thx
I have 4U. Don’t expect we will see 3U in the U.K.
@@TheBadmintonCoach Thats a very heavy 4u. 87 grams without strings is about 91g with strings. Which is more like 3u.
@@endgamep I recently tested a 3U and there was very little difference.
Hi Paul, i am currently using Arcsaber 11 pro, the control aspect is all good, but there is a lack of repulsive power.... will it be a wise decision to switch to nanoflare 1000z.? considering the technical adjustments due to compact head, stiffer shaft, faster swing speed etc. Also, i don't want to loose a whole lot of control in my shots. Basically i want to know if i switched to nanoflare, would i be getting more than i would be loosing or not, thanks in advance. bye
I suggest you test different strings before giving up on your racket
Hello sir, mind if I ask a question? I'm looking for advice on a selling pre-owned racquet in the UK, excluding eBay. Any suggestions?
There is a Facebook page Badminton Market. See if that’s of interest to you.
Hi Paul, thanks for the video. I don't know if you tried/ remember the NANORAY 900 (also head light, stiff frame)? Mine broke recently and I am looking for a replacement. Would you recommend the 1000z? I've heard it is difficult to play with in terms of the stiffness and very high repulsion, but you didn't seem to flag these as issues. Many thanks
I remember Nanoray 900 very well. Closest in feel is Astrox 77 Pro.
1000z is a completely different beast.
@@TheBadmintonCoach Thanks for replying. I'm surprised a head heavy racquet would be the closest comparison! It's also supposedly medium flex? Would any of the new Nanoflares compare e.g. 800pro? What makes the 1000z so different? Cheers!
@@Hocko22 I have restrung many 900’s and played with them. The feel on the head is closest to Astrox 77 pro
1000z is an aerodynamic frame with a lot more mass behind the shuttle. It feels heavy and won’t manoeuvre like the 900 did which is why I discounted that racket. 800 is very nice being lighter than 1000z
Hi Sir Paul, any recommendations for picking between the 3U and 4U? I'm lost.
There isnt much in it. We are talking min 1 g to maximum 9g in weight. I have 4U
@@TheBadmintonCoach Thanks Sir Paul
sir, why the fastest smash recorded by using this racket, im curious what is your opinion about this racket stands within the astrox series which is obviously they call the astrox as a head heavy racket
This racket has head weight but is more aerodynamic. Test conditions are different from playing conditions and that’s why players cannot generate these speeds on court. I suspect the distance measured is also different
Hi Paul, you mentioned it was 87 grams before strung. Is it a 3U racket?
No it’s 4U but included the grip and cellophane
At defense clear area .... Which is better for intermediate badminton player..... Nanoflare 1000z or astrox 100zz ?
Mmm good question. Both are fast but in different ways. 100ZZ has less mass but 1000Z has better aerodynamics
Is it fragile? I just ordered it. And I'm an intermediate player. i saw some comments from other videos that it's quite fragile
I haven’t heard of any players breaking them.
How would this compare to the Arcsaber 11 Pro? Would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Good question. Nanoflare has a bit more head weight so for me I generate a bigger hit with it. For some players, they generate more power from lighter headed rackets so ensure you select off your preferences, not mine
@@TheBadmintonCoach The only way to find out is a field test I guess. For the record I generate more power with a Victor Auraspeed 100X than the Arcsaber 11 Pro (Both 4U) so I might fall into the group you've described for some players. Thanks!
@@HanWeiLim I haven’t seen much of Auraspeed 100 in U.K. I have restrung one. Victor rackets have a different feel but I suspect this racket is slightly heavier than Arcsaber 11 pro although please correct if you consider it’s incorrect
Being so stiff It is a bad pick for someone who plays matches more than 8h per week.
All my stiff frames are on sale now including the precious CX9000J, I need to take care of my body and prevent injury if I wanna keep playing.
That depends on the player. I’m on court for way more than 8 hours a week and have no issues with it. I do consider the Game version is more forgiving but doesn’t have the feel in the head, although it’s still good
@@TheBadmintonCoach The Game versions of yonex models are pretty forgiving.
In our case we combine the "slow shuttle problem " with poor technique so it is stressing to play some shots like backhand to the backline. Gestures end up forced increasing risk of injury.
Nice to see you back btw :)
Feel free to post some sneak peak of your coaching class.
@@ari-athbadminton0301 thank you. There are more videos to follow.
Hope you're well sir
Yes I am. Thanks for asking. There’s more video releases soon
i searching data balance point this racket between 293-310 i dont know that real or fake?
Mine is definitely real! I’d be surprised to see such a wide difference in balance but that could legitimately be the spread between 3U and 4U. There won’t be additional weight in the head, so it’s more likely to be in the handle which will change balance point
I am just worried about durability, what some people are having issues with - especially as it's a wide body frame.
I am always looking for more head speed, though I wonder if getting a headlight(er) racket would be a better idea.
I haven’t heard of breakage issues. It may be you would suit Arcsaber 7 Pro as it is ridiculously fast.
@@TheBadmintonCoach Currently have an Arcsaber 10 which feels good, would you say it's still worth trying the 7 Pro?
I've heard of breakage issues on various forums but nothing outside that so take it with a grain of salt. I don't personally know anyone with the racket, and it's still a very new(and expensive) model after all.
@@Koozwad ah the wonderful Arcsaber 10! You will find the 7 Pro has a faster frame and may also feel more rigid. Arcsaber 10 tended to have a softer frame which sometimes resulted in the strings pulling through the carbon frame
@@TheBadmintonCoach Oh that sounds intruiging. I will see if someone or a shop has one available to try out. Thanks for the tip!
@@Koozwad you are welcome
NF1000Z vs ArcS7Pro, which one is more nimble and fast from your POV?
For pure speed, Arcsaber 7 pro wins. But I never judge a racket on one criteria
3 U or 4 U version ? Have a big difference !
There can be also you would need to find weights on the low side for 4U and high side of tolerance for 3U to notice the difference
88D pro vs Nanoflare1000z who is better for smash?
This depends on the individual player. Where possible, I simply recommend players test them both to see which suits.
Is the 4U stable enough for singles?
Of course. Carolina Marin is a user of this racket and also Laksha Sen
@@TheBadmintonCoach Sen is using 3U :-)
@@piotres6566 I suspect he will be.
How does it compare to 100zz?
Very different feel. Faster frame.
Sorry it’s not strong broke 2 from the side of frames in a month
