A few things on the obvious Clare free - it was a free but it shouldn't have gotten to that point. 1: 4 minutes injury time called. Quaid pucks the ball out at 74:00 and Will O'Donoghue shot was hooked and dribbled wide at 74:11 mark. 2: Clare Keeper took a short puck out immediately with Clare and Limerick players in the 20m line which some refs ignore, some call it back while I have played matches where the ref will call a throw in for it. 3. Even if he allowed the quick puckout, time was up. On the puckout it should have been time 4. The game restarts at 75:15 and he allows a puckout for which Limerick gather and attempt to play it out. 75:25 is when the collision between Casey and Kelly happens. So that is an additional 10 seconds on top of the initial 10 or so seconds he has allowed beyond the 4 minutes. There was no stoppages or subs in that 4 minute period so the additional seconds were not necessary. I believe he should have blown the whistle on the puckout as he seemed to do inititally. It should have been time then.
That's just dumb It completely misses the point there. No doubt we were architects of our own defeat with the chances we missed but that's not a marginal call
@@adrianmacgrath5814 what i would say to you is that it is a pitty that the referee was so bad that everyone hates him. He ruined what would have been a great match and both sides deserve at least better than that but every Limerick supporter feels that way. It is a mostly bitter and little bit empty of a victory.
What about the frees limerick didn't get, yellow card for Gearoid.??come on Ciaran, Clare had bad wides In the last ten minutes,lost well before the last minute.
Good Man Ciaran very honost as a Clare man I felt really sorry for Limerick in the two finals of 94 & 96 Ciaran was an fine hurler one of the best of his era pity he never wo an all Ireland
The ref was giving clare so many chances but because of that one mistake at the end that didn't even matter (and because it was against limerick) clare where apparently "robbed"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sport is sport. Never a truer word. That’s life. The most positivity a ref can get is no negativity so psychologically, refs have to be very resilient. Up until the 74th minute Liam Gordon played an absolute blinder and needs to be commended for that. Up the Banner.
Nope he did not he gave frees to Clare that were not frees , one of them around the 54 minute Limerick player touched a Clare player on his shoulder, and he gave a free to Clare , 100% was not a free ,,,, swings and roundabouts, he gave Clare way more , and two yellow cards to Limerick players for nothing , and we had the usual Clare diving , hands out on the ground to get Hegerty the yellow, after the Clare player decided to get tough with Hegerty while he was on the ground ,

Brynes was pulled down and tripped just over 75 mins before Casey and Kelly are even in the same postcode.

Ref was more than fair to Clare throughout the game, so it balanced out, Clare man.
Not true Clare got 15 frees Limerick 12 but when Clare & Limerick meet its a very physical battle could have given 30 frees each
