@@knickknack675 tbh the game is made for the slower characters now... you might need to make more reads... parry nd dodge are clutch mechanics in this game don't be afraid to dodge your bar to low. just watch for a character trying to cap on it. Jason nd superman feel really good, they happen to be the slowest in the game besides iron giant
For me, jason is decent, it depends what type of players your fighting againts, and how good you are, but i agree fast charachter more advantage then jason.
I main Jason and he 100% is a bottom character, he def needs some kind of armor on his moves cuz he just gets outclassed by everyone. The crazy part is even though he’s one of the worst characters he’s still completely viable in tournaments, which is a great sign when bad characters can still perform at the best levels.

I’m glad you’re playing this Bee. It wasn’t on my radar until I noticed the Gremlins characters, but I’ve really been enjoying it.
I’ve found a cool combo where you do your first 2 jabs, mist step and right when you come out go into a jab again and do the same thing, then 2 jabs, stomp and use the axe grab move. It works most of the time and is really cool.
I main garnet and i cant get behind any tier list that puts jason behind Garnet. Hes just a better character

im not that good in the game but i have noticed how its hard for jason to rlly get an opening against characters with faster attacks without using his side basic combo , even then its hard for me
Bro I'd love to see you pivot into some Multiversus, or the next Smash game. NRS has kinda shown everyone that they're not taking their pros seriously.
I mained morty in the beta, but after labbing Jason, man his combo game is amazing. Jab -> dodge cancel -> (reverse direction) jab -> air down attack -> ground up attack -> air up attack, looks so flashy and kills light characters at low health. Just big and slow, u need to whiff punish a lot to make him good.
jason is basically combo food in 2s but hes got great kill potential and kill confirms. i dont think hes top tier like bugs or joker but prob high or mid tier

The way you play with him makes him look decently strong

Good players will make him work but you're going to get mauled in most matches especially if they speed up the game more

been trying really hard to have fun with jason as in the beta i made it a habit to play almost every character and get max level, and compared to everyone else he really struggles at times. he’s just too slow and it’s hard to get going. the range on some of his attacks are also abysmal and he definitely needs some buffs. when you’re not getting pummeled in 2v2s tho when he hits he HITS i just wish he was better so i could have more of those moments
Day 1 I cringed pretty hard from seeing people saying Jason needed to be nerfed. He isn't that good, pretty decent advantage state but as soon as you're getting hit I think he falls completely apart.
Yeah, I've noticed he kinda gets mobbed in 2v2.
jason feels like a glass cannon, he does great damage but the second he gets hit he falls over so hard

I’d like to say Jason is good…. When compared to tank characters from other games, his kit is so special compared to the commonly super slow characters and I’m betting if the characters in this game were faster Jason would find some way to lock someone in a combo.
As an IG main I think the match up against Jason is heavily skewed towards IG unless I've only been facing bad Jasons for the past 30 hours of launch playtime.
they should add King Of The Hill and Reptile from MK
My jason is lvl 9 and my account is lvl 17.
Ive been playing pretty much all these 4 days, and am a jason main.
Jason is low A. Hes balanced. Hes combo food for sure, but hes an absolute monster when he finally gets in there. His colosal damage and knockback couple with his great vertical combos/kill potentiall makes him a amazing threat. But as soon as you catch him hes in big trouble.
Ur not wrong, that’s good rank for Low A. Against fast characters is challenging but you gotta learn how to bait them and punish them. Gray health is key for Jason tbh
I will say the finn/velma spam is nice not havinng... tho some of the smaller characters for sure have an advantage over the bigger ones, the up hit imo should have the weakest effect for small characters to ring big character out through the top... would make more sense big characters easy to spike, small characters easy to vollyball lol. Tho these Ariya nd Harleys always get top ring out...

As a Stripe main, seeing Stripe so low on the tier list stings a little.

Jason is FUN. Bugs, Finn, Harley all seem to consistently outhit and then avoid his delightful machete work.

I had to drop him unfortunately. Too slow and no real combo game. I'm enjoying morty, but i'm down to see other people pick him up. I miss him already.

I think Jason is garbage. does rage hurt himself? he big and he's slow and his main tools seem to hurt himself. Perks resirrection is borderline useless and Side Step is likely to get you killed.

Hmm, i dunno where i would want to put jason on the tier list. Not bottom, that's for sure. Not top tier either. Might put him mid range to top mid range of the tier list. He got grabs, good knockout potentional, decent range and is pretty tanky.

@@lamarpalmer25 Well, not hard to play but easier to do missinputs on. You are right though, his armor and attack speed is great. The reason i don't want to put him in top tiers is just that the top tiers are imo all easier to play, got super good abilities, movement and got smaller hitboxes.
His hit/hurtboxes are quite bad for someone as slow as Jason IMO. It's possible to whiff your attack despite your machete going through the enemy, and it's VERY possible for you to get hurt by the opponent attacking the tip of the axe or machete as Jason is swinging it. I'd say he's pretty cleanly bottom tier despite being capable of killing at rather low percentages.

If you are a aggressive player Jason will not be the pick, u will have to slow your whole play style down
this works for me as I mainly play slower characters in smash so it feels natural playing jason, he's kind of a ganondorf type in my mind, hits hard but gets hit harder

I play him aggressive af lol cam be annoying but I try to have an aggressive dodge style of playing utilizing the side neutral into combo reads
Jason is generally an easy character to play and he can even get an early knockout if he gets the chance to. But he has 3 problems:
1) His attacks are kinda slow, which means most characters can outmash him in a face 2 face scenario.
2) He has a big body. Not as big as Iron Giant, but big enough to be a combo food.
3) The top tier characters are counters to Jason. Harley Quinn,Bugs Bunny,Joker,BananaGuard,Batman etc can just run away from him the entire game and outrange him with their tools. Wonder woman on the other hand just denies your dmg and then combos the hell out of you (she does it to everyone tho).
Generally speaking, Jason isn't terrible. In a tier list I would put him either in low A or high B. You just have to be smart when playing him and exploit your tools properly. If you mash with Jason just like when playing bananaguard, you are going to lose. You need to learn how to space yourself, dodging (or parrying) properly and understand your range of your axe and your machete.
