- "In one hilarious act, the action supposedly in the dark is illuminated; when the lights are to be on, the stage is the dark. Lovesick and desperate, sculptor Brindsley Miller has embellished his apartment with furniture and objects d'arte "borrowed" from the absent antique collector next door hoping to impress his fiancee's pompous father and a wealthy art dealer, Schuppanzigh. The fussy neighbor, Harold Gorringe returns just as a blown fuse plunges the apartment into darkness and Brindsley is revealed teetering on the verge of very ripe farce. Unexpected guests, aging spinsters, errant phone cords and other snares impede his frantic attempts to return the purloined items before light is restored"
Pity the set isn't pitch black in the beginning - it's meant to be to contrast the light coming on when it becomes the blackout
I did this play for my GCSE drama production I was clea suprisingly I remember every single word haha I'm almost 34 now! Haha
The one that I'm going to go see soon it's going to have the lights pitch black
Omg this is amazing!!
Wonderful
wer doing this soon. who is this troupe? where was it?
Y’all in my schools play this year and we are doing this show in 3 weeks!!
Also I’m playing Brindsley and I have no acting experience, :| anyone got any good advice?
How'd it go
lol i got cast as brindsley as well and i've never had a role like this before!! how'd yours go?
It went great actually! We didn’t have as much time as we normal would have (7 weeks) and there was a lot of drama behind the scenes lol but the show itself was great and I had a lot of fun even though I felt like I was gonna have a panic attack before each show. Overall it was a fun experience and I got to meet a lot of great people but it took A TON of effort inside and outside of school. uhhh 7/10
nice!! i'm glad it went well!! i just started rehearsals yesterday and i only have 2 weeks to get off book, and then we're performing 3 weeks after that so i'm pretty nervous lol
I also got Brindsley, any advice on actually learning these absurd amount of lines
