Part that but it also keeps my kit companies happy. NRS look after me really well and I like their gear so try to make sure it is shown in the videos. But yes it does emphasise the need/normality of wearing a pfd.
Some years ago i watched a great documentary of Ray Mears going on a canoe journey with you - since then i watched many of your videos. So i have to say thank you for all the work and time you've invested to create this very helpful piece of advice. And also for your calm way of teaching all of this helpful tipps, tricks and details. The more i watch them - the more i found theese little details to think about and apply them to my own paddling. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
There you go, and I was introduced to the C stroke in its less subtle form. Thanks for explaining the correct and more subtle version. Again you show it in a variety of situations that really shows the versatility needed for canoeing.
Thanks Ray another great UA-cam video, clear, well demonstrated and informative, I especially like the demonstratrions of combining the C Stroke with other storkes
I'll be honest I'd forgot about the C stroke ray. I've been out paddling alot over the last few weeks and will try this next time I'm out. Thank you Ray 😁
Hi Ray, thanks again these short videos are a good way of getting revision done prior to seeing you with frontier next year, no chance of practicing but it's like doing the theory before the practical test. Many thanks. Nige.
The Outside Pivot Turn is covered in my latest video: ua-cam.com/video/9jPUYqAzCs0/v-deo.html It is combining the cross bow draw and a sweep stroke. Hope that helps.
Ray, you are right, loved doing this on the water, ok not very good 😂😂, but we all survived 🙏🙏👍, Take care of your family my friend, Will be in touch for lessons. Nige, ☕ ☕
Not being one that always uses the correct term, I feel rather stupid at times. I always just used the C stroke as a small correction like you mention to get started and never put much though into it. I have misrepresented the C as a sweep. I am so foolish. As usual nice directional video.
Far more important that you use the techniques rather than be able to name them. Do you use it to keep power on through an arc? Lot of good paddlers do but never teach it as they are unaware of their own performance. Glad you liked it.
It is the Venture Canoe's Afon. Really designed for white water with a lot of rocker. I tend to use the Afon and in some videos the Venture Prospector. Thanks.
I like that you have on your PFD even when on land demonstrating! People need to get use to wearing their PDF!

Wow, thank you. That is appreciated.

Yep and it really does work. And thank you for your kind comments.
I’ve bing watched your site now and look forward to reading your book for even more detail.
The book should tie together nicely with the videos. Thank you.

Very welcome. Glad you liked it.
Very impressed with the C stroke combination, can't wait to try it myself.
Thanks .
Thank you and have fun with it.

Good stuff. Yep it may to forget things over time unless you are constantly using them. Loving the carvings you are doing. Keep well.
Thank you Ray! This was very helpful to me. Keep up these videos coming! Have a nice summer and greetings from Finland.
30 degrees. I hope that makes the difference
Nice one Ray. Clear as ever.
Thank you. Just moved over to Final Cut Pro as an editing tool so this was a real challenge. But I will be able to do far more. More to come.
An excellent resource to refer to.
Thank you.

Glad you like them! See you next year.
Ray, I appreciate you so much, you reply to everyone in a very positive way, I can't see what lina sees in you 😂😂😂☕☕😷
Stay safe my friends.
Nige.
Thanks for sharing. This will improve my turns. I would be interested how you do a turn to the off-side.

Shame I can only like the video once Ray, still watching, still confused 🤔😀 hope you are all well, be careful in these new times of freedom, 👍👍☕
That has made me chuckle and smile. Thank you. It only really makes sense once out on the water. Keep well.

Ray what is the angle of your kneeling thwart? I made one but I think it may be to flat as it seems to cut the circulation to my legs.
30 degrees. I hope that helps
Very nice. Im curious as to which make and model your canoe is? I think you may have said it, but I don't aways hear so great. I enjoy your videos.
