Irene Paredes was also massive. What a game she played. Hats out.

Totally agree. She stepped up bigtime, and also basically showed the world, she's better at defending than anyone on the Lyon side is at attacking, which was pretty eye-opening!! Congrats to Barca on a great run this season!!

These sorts of games you have to watch over and over if you want to understand what happended.
Don't underestimate what Aitana and Mariona (and Walsh) did in the first half. They ran rings around Horan, VdeD and brought Demaris to tears.
It's not just about the goals works for Aitana as well as Lucy.

For sure... I've watched the whole match twice now (Dino) and I agree, Aitana, Keira Walsh, and I'll also say the Paredes/Engen combo all really stood out on rewatch. As always, really appreciate you chiming in with your thoughts!

One of my absolute favourite moments of the Final:
      ua-cam.com/users/clipUgkxWnEAKQ_XzoIiOG6wk_nLgIe92PdKA1U6?si=ZwKqeqDb7rFLOtsE
Lyon in charge after Cata Coll (of all people) gives the ball up; Keira picking Cascarino's pocket; Aitana then Keira turning into trouble; then Patri, cool as you like, solves all problems by finding Lucy when she's nowhere to be found.

He absolutely crushed the call in this one, and that Alexia goal (and the call) will go down in history so I'm glad we got Chris to open up a little more about that moment. And thanks for the kind words Carlo!!! 💪

Dino's analysis of what a great job Barcelona did defensively and wearing down Lyon's players was for me also the highlight of the match.
They looked exhausted at the 60th minute till the end trying chasing ghosts. The players of Barcelona mentioned that also in many interviews. Guys we had a sneak peak of what is coming at the Nation's League Final against France.I told you then that Barca now has the physicality and stamina and intensify to go toe to toe with French players. The only difference from that match to the match against Lyon was that Lyon had more chances in front of goal.,as excepted because of the players they have.
Nice interview guys with Chris, continue what you are doing.
    Great stuff.

The English are very patriotic. Neutrals have seen that with English commentators on DAZN Football channel, most of whom are from WSL. The love for their favourite league WSL and its players, is on display when they commentate on games not even involving English clubs. Anything remotely connected to England is praised highly. Understandbly they believe that anything that is English is the best in the world.
Brann is the team to look out for in the future provided they can keep the players. They were the only team, other than Lyon, that moved the ball around quickly to trouble Barca.

      100% on point regarding Brann.
Not sure if you’re talking about us praising Kiera Walsh and Lucy Bronze but they both did have incredible games, along with Aitana, CGH. Paredes and Engen were solid as well.

Im reminded of thierry henry pointed out in an interview that they don't press Busquets when he was playing at barcelona because you'll just waste your energy so i think perhaps that was one factor that Bompastor did not account for. She only used 3 subs and late at that so im wondering if she didnt see how gassed out her team was and really needed fresh legs 🤔
Do you think it was another mistake to not signal to Endler to fake an injury to get them a technical timeout and have a team talk?
People noted how it was overwhelmingly barca fans in the stadium and it felt like a barca home game. Do you think UEFA or DAZN or whoever should have ensure tickets go to equal amounts of each team and set it up like at wembley for WSL FA cup final where one entire end stand was spurs white and other end United red. Would have the crowd atmosphere helped Lyon?

If you follow Spanish League, yoy should see how Graham Hansen didn't give Basha her worst evening; she is capable of much more, especially because she didn't join with Aitana in the first half for defensive reasons. The two of them are imaparable

      @IntoTheChannelPod  23 дні тому

Pretty much agree with you. Didn’t feel like that was CGH’s best game, but for Bacha, I think that was the most she’s been outplayed by this season. Graham Hansen is a certified legend so it’s understandable.

6:30 CGH was injured and reappeared just for the first leg of the semi-final against Chelsea, so she wasnt at 100%... at 2nd leg she was better.

As much as I hope to see the inevitable fall of Barcelona (the sooner the better), Alexia’s moment was a thing of beauty. Congrats to her and the other goal scorer, Gilles. That’s not really fair, i like Gilles and she had no choice but to make a play, but that was a cross and an own goal, not an Aítana goal. Lucy Bronze was def the POTM. And it wouldn’t be a crazy argument to make to say that our girl Lindsey was Lyon’s POTM, not as clear cut but for sure a sound position.

definitely a shot but the deflection helped. We shall enjoy your american hater tears cry now cry tomorrow, keep crying cause barca are here to stay and have more football heritage than the whole of the US

Totally agree on the Alexia moment. It was pretty cool talking to Chris about calling that moment. With regard to Aitana, like I said on the show, she may have just sent that ball into the most dangerous possible area knowing that was the right play. Either way, turns out it was the right play lol
Always appreciate you stopping by Blue!
