Thank you Brenda for this video. Your focus of making leader enders endlessly and then pointing them out in your charity quilts is so wonderful. It is very helpful to me when making something from my squares. I started quilting years ago but got rid of the material as I finished the quilt. Now I am back and trying to sew but have no material, so I purchased some inexpensive fat quarters and cut them up into squares and as I sew your blicks I got better. Now I have made your paper piecing blocks, which I love, and have made some small and some ling table runners. I am having so much fun! It is silly but I am doing this and find I now have scrapes to make leader enders. I loved webbing my scrapy placemats for gifts. Thank you again for this new block. 😀😍😍

That’s a great way to use orphan blocks whether pieced blocks or strings. If you put sashing on the other side with a cornerstone opposite the small square and set that on point, you’d have a chandelier quilt like the one I did a video on. I’m going to try this (or at least put it in the long line of quilts I want to make! Lol Thanks for the ideas you share!

Maybe it's about time to turn all those leader enders into 4-patches instead of starting too many more first? Congrats on getting through one shoe-box full. Those 4 - patches will be great for nine patches, so quick once you've got all the littlies done. Pat sloan uses similar colours and does all 4-patch quilts, like green tones or pink tones, she turns the leader enders into 4-patches after she's got the usual, sewing session done for the day, then sews 4 of them together for a 16 patch, which gets bigger quickly, then stores them until she has enough. About 4 or 9 of the bigger blocks makes a quick baby quilt, because most of the piecing is already done. I like that you've started out with pairs of scraps, and web 2 rectangles together, so the next step will be easy for matching pairs. It will be georgous, if still simple piecing or not. Your output is impressive. Well done, all the best.

Great job! I understand the sharp point match, but I need to ask..how does the clipping not make that point weaker? My quilts get used and washed a lot, so I press those seams open. I also don’t like 1/4 seams, I use 3/8. Every quilt I have had to repair, I have had to give those points attention.

Thank you Brenda for this video. Your focus of making leader enders endlessly and then pointing them out in your charity quilts is so wonderful. It is very helpful to me when making something from my squares. I started quilting years ago but got rid of the material as I finished the quilt. Now I am back and trying to sew but have no material, so I purchased some inexpensive fat quarters and cut them up into squares and as I sew your blicks I got better. Now I have made your paper piecing blocks, which I love, and have made some small and some ling table runners. I am having so much fun! It is silly but I am doing this and find I now have scrapes to make leader enders. I loved webbing my scrapy placemats for gifts. Thank you again for this new block. 😀😍😍

I really really like this block. It is very versatile. I can use up my 2 1/2 inch blocks and strips. I changed my storage of strips and squares and this will work with them. I like that you showed us a variation in the quilt. What fun thanks

That’s a great way to use orphan blocks whether pieced blocks or strings. If you put sashing on the other side with a cornerstone opposite the small square and set that on point, you’d have a chandelier quilt like the one I did a video on. I’m going to try this (or at least put it in the long line of quilts I want to make! Lol

Maybe it's about time to turn all those leader enders into 4-patches instead of starting too many more first? Congrats on getting through one shoe-box full. Those 4 - patches will be great for nine patches, so quick once you've got all the littlies done. Pat sloan uses similar colours and does all 4-patch quilts, like green tones or pink tones, she turns the leader enders into 4-patches after she's got the usual, sewing session done for the day, then sews 4 of them together for a 16 patch, which gets bigger quickly, then stores them until she has enough. About 4 or 9 of the bigger blocks makes a quick baby quilt, because most of the piecing is already done. I like that you've started out with pairs of scraps, and web 2 rectangles together, so the next step will be easy for matching pairs. It will be georgous, if still simple piecing or not. Your output is impressive. Well done, all the best.

Another great block! I have a lot of 2 1/2” strips that my friend gave to me. I’m making quilts for Foster Care kids. I’ll also make a pillowcase for each quilt using these squares with a plain band. I’m already subscribed to the Idiot Quilter. So nice of you to make referrals to others. 💕💙

Great job! I understand the sharp point match, but I need to ask..how does the clipping not make that point weaker? My quilts get used and washed a lot, so I press those seams open. I also don’t like 1/4 seams, I use 3/8. Every quilt I have had to repair, I have had to give those points attention.
