I have had numerous requests for a tour of our Pacific Parrotlet Beaker's Cage - so here it is! Beaker lives in a Hagen Vision cage (unfortunately I do not know the model) and loves all of his toys and the space it provides. Beaker spends most of the day on his play gym while I work (which I will be featuring in an upcoming video).

Thanks for stopping by!
It's the first time I've seen this Pacific parroted species. It's pretty. I love your bird and toys and cage and perches. I love this.
You're tips are always reliable.
Lots of fun toys for Beaker! He must be really happy in there :) I do miss keeping birds x
+AnimalMadCait Thanks Cait! He loves to play in his cage but quite enjoys play time too! x
thanks so much budget bunny for the cage tour. I absolutely love your videos mostly the bird and rabbits ones. you have shown me what proper animal care is. thank you so much!
+GolIath Lover1510 Awwww thank you and thanks for following! :)
:)

hey there
is beaker's wings clipped
+BudgetBunny hey do you recommend getting there wings clipped? i want to train my budgie to play and fly around the house but i dont want it to leave
+101 Parakeets I know you are asking Budget Bunny this but I thought I would give you my opinion. I would not clip the wings fully but if you clip 2 or 3 they can't fly as far only few feet at a time but I would just like to warn you clipping the wings can change you birds personality it did for my bird and many other birds and if you don't want your bird to fly away keep the doors and windows closed and for your birds safety please bird proof your home
GolIath Lover1510 thanks so much this means a lot!
No problem :)
Great Video beaker is absolutely adorable!!!! I love his coloring!!!!
+Madi Vandenakker Thank you! He is a cutie pie and has beautiful colours! :)
Oh. This is superb ❤️
Breaker, is adorable
Great video. Where did you get that roller toy he likes so much?
Will the L12 work for budgies/parakeets? Does anyone know the EXACT measurement between the wires? I hope it's 1/2" or less....
Thank you,
Terri
looks amazing!
+My Precious Pets Thank you!
Awesome cage.. and I love your voice..
Awww how did Ella pass? Rest her precious soul. I love beaker, he is so beautiful. My dream bird
I watch all your videos because im looking forward to buy a parrotlet (pacific) and need to know how to care and you are always reliable!
+Savannah Zagar Thanks for watching and following! I have been very busy but hope to have more bird videos up soon! :)
@@BudgetBunny this was a great video, thank you. Was thinking of getting a vision bird cage but I don't think I'll like having to remove the cage from it's base to clean it every day. I wish they created a removable tray that doesn't require lifting the cage.
your parrotlet is cute!!
+DaNcInG BeAvEr123 Thanks!
Love the cage!! Have you thought about putting some fruit branches (or other non toxic branches) in as perches? Would be something different for him. When I used to own budgies I used to put eucalyptus branches in their cage as perches and they loved to peel the bark off for fun.
+Lulu loveski Thank you! I have seen people do this however I don't know where I would find such branches. We used to have a hibiscus tree that Ella loved to play in but sadly didn't make it through the move last year. I will have to find out if apple branches are safe as we do have organic apple trees here.
LOVE this cage perches stink and the plastic space is a bit large jump for a parrotlet but otherwise I LOVE IT!! Thanks!!!
Are pacific parrotlets loud ?
I have the same cage 😂 I plan on getting a bigger one tho, because it is quite small
Parakeet World• Yeah it’s definitely not suitable as a flight cage. I’m home all day so the second I’m up Beaker is in his own room. 😘
I believe you have a vision mo2 I believe this because the L12 comes with red perches I am not sure if this was the case 6 years ago but if it is this might be your cage!
Or even the m12
I think this is the m12 model (medium sized, double height, with large bar spacing) not the l12 model like some people are saying. The l12 would have red perches and food dishes, as well as four clips holding the cage to the base, rather than two.
+Georgia Honestly I'm not sure what model it is. I know I mentioned it was the M12 in an older video and was told it was the L12. LOL! It is also about 5-6 years old now so they could have changed the style of it since then. Either way I absolutely love this cage! :)
+BudgetBunny That is true :) Beaker's cage looks amazing & it really shows how well he's looked after!
so awesome!! :)
How do you clean his cage without frightening him? My new parrotlet is still easily perturbed by hands, which presents a problem whenever I need to clean his cage.
+Angela C. He spends all day in my office with me on his toys and play gym. When I clean his cage I put him in his play area first. :)
Hi, hopefully you reply to me because I noticed this video is about a year old. I am getting a cockatiel this summer from a breeder and will be buying the Vision bird cage L12. Which is the largest one.
I found the long rope perches on amazon but I am wondering what size I should buy. Do you happen to remember the length of the ones you bought?
Thanks in advance!
You can get any size you want won't effect it.
I would also get some bridges and swings
where did you buy the toys, especially the spinner toys?
Do you think it's okay to upgrade to a bigger cage for my parrotlet? Or would he just miss the cage he was already used to?
I know it was 2 years ago lol but it should be fine if you use familiar things such as their toys, their dishes and stuff like that.
it's the L12 model
Will the L12 work for budgies/parakeets?
I realy like your bird but everyone say that they have to live together waht did you think about that ?
+Frost Schatten Birds are social but they are also extremely territorial and aggressive. Parrotlets (the type of bird that Beaker is) are actually recommended to be housed alone for this reason unless they were siblings who have grown up together (and even then there is no guarantee). If you have an opposite sexed pair then you run the risk of continuous egg laying which puts a lot of stress on the female as well as certain health risks. I also mentioned that Beaker was a rescue bird. He was being rehomed because the family was keeping him with other birds, they didn't get along and he was being picked on (also mentioned in a previous video). He was being adopted out separately and I am not going to put him at risk to try and pair him with another cage mate. I don't have the space to have two separate play areas and two separate cages to house a second bird if they didn't get along which wouldn't be fair to either of them. If you want a good example of this very issue then I would suggest checking out Peekaboo Parrots. She has two adorable parrotlets Koolaid and Smokey - Smokey has had so many issues including chronic egg laying because she lived with Koolaid (a male). Koolaid has also bitten off many of her toes when being territorial and they are no longer housed together.
Would 2 parrotlets live comfortably in this cage?
Kelsey Bordeaux Parrotlets cannot be kept together in the same cage because they're very territorial and will fight each other. I hope it helped.
okay, I love all of your pet care, buuut.... why is beaker alone? and why was ella alone? These birds are social animals like bunnys and guinea pigs. And the second thing I am worried about is the cage. It is kind of small... I know that he sometimes gets the chance to fly around in the room, but would you like to live in such a small area?
I really do love all your pets care, exapt for beakers...
he isn't your bird and she does the best she can.
I know that he isnt my bird xD I just want the best for him, I do not want to be mean. I also have a youtube channel and know how people can be, I just think he would be better of with a partner and I do not understand why she kept two birds after each other and not together
even some animals that should have friend can't because they still might be teritorial
+Pia Ella was sick so it could be contagious
+Pia I have to say this comment actually surprised me. Beaker's cage is more then 3 feet tall and two feet wide by 1 1/2 feet deep. He is 1/2 the size of a lovebird to give you a comparison of his size. He weighs around 38g which is 1/4 of the weight of our hamster. I also work from home so he spends all day every day in my office where he has access to lots of toys and can fly as he wishes (as was mentioned in the video). Birds need height to their cage, not width as they naturally want to be higher up. Having a wider cage would not make any sense. When I mentioned that this wasn't a flight cage - what I was referring to were those very large 6 feet tall cages that people house groups of finches or canaries in and where they spend their entire lives confined to that space. As far as them being social animals - you are right birds are social but they are also extremely territorial and aggressive. Is the M02 large enough for one cockatiel?
Leonor Sotto Mayor I don’t think so😬 personally I think the m02 is a minimum just for a parrotlet
It's the L12 model. my budgie has this cage and it is very roomy for 1 budgie good for 2 but I would do no more then 2
I have the same cage for my 2 budgies!
+Sleepy Puppy Yay!
Hey guys I need your help! I'm getting another bunny but I don't know what to name it so leave a reply on what it should be, also it to young to tell if it's a boy or girl so you can just put boy or girl names..thanks guys XD
Don’t use mirrors in a bird cage unless there are other birds that stay in the same cage. Your other bird slept by it every night cause she was addicted to it
i like this vidoe
Please get rid of the rope perch because they are clearly being chewed on so get rid of it because they can die or get an expensive surgery
hi just subscribed
luy ur vids
+Iman Wardina (warspidey) Thank you!
Are you that you need this not sure the parrots :-))
Dont use mirrors to birds.
can you do a give away
Mirrors are not a good idea according to bird experts.
Good job on the video!!! #1st comment

L02
в этих тряпках заведётся всякая гадость типа клеща и пухапероеда
i'm the 90th viewers
It is way to small an there's way to much stuff in there and why is he alone this is just cruel
Tom they need loads of toys or they get bored and I’m sure she takes him out to get exercise
Parrolets should be left alone because they are territorial
i stoped whacksing your vid when i moved
