Just talking about the red mirage isn't enough to fix this stupid issue. Just make it mandatory that states wait to report their numbers until 90% of votes are counted, regardless of the type of ballot. We do not need a play by play for hours on end, we need to know the winner, period.

That's not a bad idea, but maybe a better one would be to have states start counting mail in votes a few days in advance. Then you might not have this red mirage.

I just want to say, in the 2014 gubernatorial election in Texas, the then attorney general Greg Abbott purged thousands of voters off the roll. And I was one of them, purged by “mistake”. Because Texas requires voters to register 30 days before an election, I could not re-register in time to vote. So, my vote was actually stolen from me. This happened to lots of voters in Texas. This is a common practice in republican states. So is gerrymandering. So is voter suppression laws. But republicans get away with it. The sheer audacity of Trump and his supporters to believe that the democrats committed election fraud is unbelievable. Democrats have fought poll taxes, restrictive voter id laws, they have always encouraged every legal voter to cast a vote, regardless of party. Because that is the democratic process. Win or lose, democrats want you to have your voice. Republicans only want republicans to vote.

I think it is totally disgusting that as vitally important as these hearings are, local television listings only listed regular programming on the schedule and did not list a starting time for the hearings. Our local news never announced a time when the hearings would be shot. They can do better than this. This particular video had 17 minutes of silence except for some soft music in the background before it even started. This information is too important to be hidden behind technology screwup‘s. Every news broadcast in America should have specifically announced when the hearings would be shown in their local area. We need to get this done, the Justice Department needs to prosecute Donald Trump, and we need to take this country back regardless of which party ends up in power before it is too late. And stop screwing around with our voting rights!

It is the mainstream media that has got us here and the gullibility of a large percentage of the world's population whose understanding of politics and culture extends no further than the daily tweets and instagram material they thumb through each day. Trump operates on creating an ominous fear of everyone who is not a supporter of his. He makes it so that his supporters feel they can only believe him and that everyone else is the enemy and a threat.
If he gets re-elected it will not end well.
If you listen to his speeches, you will realize that his incomplete sentences are actually delivered that way on purpose. He leaves out key elements so listeners will fill in those gaps with their own thoughts wishes and ideas because that is what they assume he means... That way people feel he supports everything that is important to them. When in fact his speeches are just empty shells, designed to have people project into them whatever they want or need to hear.
All within a general framework of us vs them (unclear of who "them" actually is) and fear of "them" and everyone who is different in any way (not just opinion but sexual orientation, gender identity etc etc etc)

I’m a Brit so a little uninformed on matters such as Presidential Pardons.
I understand the concept of a Presidential Pardon on a conviction proved in court and a PP for charges laid before a court hearing. I understand that by accepting a PP then guilt is admitted.
Can a PP be issued pre-emptively and cover multiple potential charges? Can a President issue a PP to himself? Any knowledgeable contributions welcome.

OK, this isn't a criminal prosecution, but persons are being accused of wrong doing in public. Here are my Q's:1) How many protesters on Jan 6th were Dem operatives in Trump Garb? 2) Were the Dems "praying" (wanting, wishing & willing - even egging on Trump supporters), to have another accusation to bring against him? 3)Were Dems covertly inciting this event? 4) Why didn't Pelosi bring the 20K National Guard (NG) to the capital that Trump asked for? 5) Why didn't the D.C. cops come out in force? The protesters could have easily been stopped from entering the capital by the NG & D.C. cops. The Oath Keepers (OK's) & Proud Boys (PB) didn't have official membership rolls of names & @/s. Dems could have pretended to be them fooling even the OK's & PB themselves. Totally plausible & highly likely. How many protesters were there? Over 20K profession soldiers & more riot police against 5K (A high est. - many were spectators) rag tag protesters? They could have been easily blocked & put down. If this was an "insurrection" it wasn't a very good 1. Cheney (A RINO) the only Repub (1 other I cant name) but is definitely biased with political aspirations perhaps even the Presidency. How can any person especially senators & congresspersons do this with a clear conscience? Its a show trial, a cinematic production of soundbites without context, a complete smear, a travesty. Naivete, overt political biased & partisanship. If the public buys it... it shows how far we have fallen. The truth no longer matters.
