Bree... To master an instrument, it takes 10,000 hours. So don't be dissapointed if your not a master after 1 year. Keep at it you will do fine. Cool changing table, and baby room overall. I can't wait for my Friday night Mylittlehomestead video. Garren please put on glasses when you run a circular saw! Trust me it's not down to "if" one gets you, it's just a matter of when. Eye injuries are the most common on construction sites, and the most easily avoided. I've been a foreman for years, and saw many, even on myself - close calls, like I have had will make you more careful, but if you're not lucky, you'll get careful after it's too late.

Friday night and what time is it. MLH time. Great to hear about Gary in his recovery. Bryson you should contact Cody from Cody'slab about getting the seeds softer. He just posted a video today about doing certain ones he is working with. And as far as the sax. The moringa tree matures quickly. Im sure you know how amazing it is for us. If its planted in a big enough pot to keep it happy you might be able to start harvesting in the first yr. it would help your dad keep his energy levels up and the vitamins and trace elements might help his fight xx
This really is just such a special youtube channel and family. I'm just repeating what everyone else here says, but you mean the world to us and you have a huge extended family that thinks of you even when we're not watching your videos. Wishing you are in good health Dad!
My older brothers 2 girls were both born on Jan 17. They are 2 years apart. My niece got her sister for her second birthday. They both are really artsy and super smart. They both graduated from community college before getting there high school diploma. They both got their bachelor degree at the age of 20.. I think that date is reserved for greatness. Congrats on finishing the babies room!!
Knowledge of an instrument is one thing. Practice is what makes possibilities. People are always telling me how "talented" my kiddo is. They have no clue at the amount of practice he puts in. I had to plug my ears at the beginning but now it is such a joy.
This was a great episode. The changing table turned out great. I really like the idea of learning a new instrument each year. Just a thought, On I lLove Lucy, she played the saxophone and her goto song was “Glowworm”. A fun plant to grow from a seed is a mango. I’ve had success with both mangos and avocado growing up to bare fruit. Gary is looking great (still in my prayers and thoughts) but do you have to torture him with saxophone ‘music’? Really liked the peak at the hydroponic but the puppy halloween parade was GREAT. Did Shea make the dress?... impressive! Thanks for sharing!

I have just finished your vlog and love.....the 2 saxophones (I played the Alto Sax in on our Jazz Band and then during marching season I played the clarinet while in high school), love it how Bree & Bryson are committing to learning a new instrument together, love it how Bryson helped out with getting a plant started the easy way AND how you are growing your own from seeds, love the baby's room and how Garen and Ellie worked so good together in creating a beautiful place for their baby, AND MOST ESPECIALLY love it seeing how positive Gary & Shelly are and how well he is doing! Aww the dogs in halloween outfits are just so darn cute!
I like the weekly peak coat you have on Bree. Love the plants! A great use of water for the plants. Prayers for your family on the loss of your grandpa and prayers for your Dad. So many uses for the pallets. Ive seen them used for raised garden beds.
I highly recommend having a railing around your changing table pad. Babies can easily roll off the second you turn your focus elsewhere. Even just 4-6 inches can make a huge difference.
Dear mylittlehomestead family, watched your latest Friday night video. As always, it was so enjoyable to watch. Each member of your family have such strong, gentle sweet spirits. You are all so industrious and seem to never waste a moment of your time. Each week I look so forward to new projects and endeavors (saxophones). But, lately, I have waited anxiously to see how Gary is progressing with the challenges of his illness. My prayers are with him and the rest of the family as your patriarch forges on with such a positive and victorious attitude. I thank each one of you for all that you do to inspire, we, your viewers and supporters to be more productive and love one another more every day. As in dealing with seeds ... i've found a few ways to hasten germination. When the shell it think and tough I will do one of two things. One , place in a match box with 120 grit sand paper and shack like a maraca . thinning out the wall. And 2, soak in water till it sinks, but no more then 24 hours because you can "Drown" a seed.
Gary my family will keep you and yours in our prayers for sure as it is always beneficial no matter what or how it is done. Your family is so talented and fun to keep up with. I love the way that if you needed a room you built a home for each of your children and your office is fantastic. You have so many talents and have done wonders for your kids to continue to learn and grow within such a wonderful setting, with a couple of parents who truly understand the way to help children these days is to help them figure it out but not to do it for them. You do so much, and the way they built the changing table was amazing. Such a wonderful room for their baby to grow up in and two parents that have learned from you how to emulate that great way that you have.
Regarding the gaps in the changing table, take note if the gaps are large-small enough to trap and pinch baby/toddler fingers, especially the gaps by the mesquite legs.
Thank you for this video. The changing table is unique, functional and perfect in the room! So many young couples spend hundreds of dollars creating a nursery. Yet, yours is AWESOME and FREE. Plus, how loved your daughter will feel when she grows up knowing Mommy & Daddy BUILT her furniture especially for her. ♡♡♡ Aww. Thank you for the GaryUpdate too! Yerba is the beverage (separate from tea or coffee) and the national drink of South America, it’s caffeine is less harsh to the system . Mate is the gourd cup the Yerba goes in.

I played alto sax for 7 years! As well as many other instruments, but alto is my favorite! It has the most buttons out of any other normal orchestral instrument!
I would like to say about your plant - - the Moringa tree- when it grow a little bit bigger you can cut some of its stems diagonally and plant it again and re grow your moringa tree even without seeds

Hi, I'm from Argentina. We drink yerba like a tea sometimes, but It is more common put in a "mate" is a kind of glass with a metal straw.
So many plants to look at now green all around is a sight to see. I was really late to see last weeks weekly peak I had to double up this week. Good thing I waited before commenting on getting the Moringa tree. The comments on Bryson great with plants echo so much with me, its the same thing family say with me .... I think I'm just good at learning from my errors. Good luck on the journey of one instrument a year, sax is a fun one.

Hi Bree and Bry! Congratulations on picking up your new instruments! As a musician (classical vocalist) myself, I highly recommend keeping a practice journal! This will help each of you to track your goals as well as documenting what went well in your practice session as well as what didn't go well, so you can better determine a better game plan for the next session. Also write in what time of day you started and how long you practiced, so you can determine what works best. Best of luck!!

A) Gary looks better and better every week, and I know it won't be short and quick, but my dad got through it with lots of love and support. I'm sure you will too. B) Omg Shae that gown looks AMAAAAZING! Is that a full hoop skirt under there??? C) They're gonna be SO READY for that baby! Quick tip, though: be careful with the change table. It's incredibly common for babies to roll off the sides, and it only takes a split second of inattention on the part of the parents. It's a real big risk that no one talks about, so just... be vigilant!

I'm so happy to hear that Gary is healing. I wish I had some medical advice to give him. I'm a breast cancer survivor and I can say pray a lot and worry as little as possible. Surround yourself with a good support system, which you already have and eat healthy, it will help in your healing process. I'll be praying for you and your family as you go through your healing process.🙏🏾

The nursery is adorable and January 17 is a very good day, it's my #1's birthday... of course, he was due December 25, we won't discuss that. grrrrrr.
Bryson, you'll probably have to lightly crack all the seeds, then refrigerate them for about 7-10 days to force them, that's what you have to do with seeds that have nut-like seeds, cherries, walnuts, etc., they don't have to be frozen just brought down to 40 f or so. It tricks them into going through the dormant stage and right back out. Good luck.
