oh Ive missed you! It's so nice to catch up and see how the kitchen is coming I love all the shelves and of course all the vintage items I have a green enameled basin that I believe is the same green as that tea pot you have! I've already packed it away so I can't get it out and get a picture ... I can't wait to be settled on my new land and designing my own kitchen! All the furniture looks so lovely! I love the little fur rug you have in front of the woodstove that looks very cozy the mascarpone with strawberries and the vanilla and little slivered almonds oh my goodness I love mascarpone! I can't wait to see how much maple syrup you're going to be making! I can't wait to taste it! Love you sweet sis and the beautiful doggies❤︎

Oh sweet Lisette ❤you never cease to amaze me. My morning is so calm after watching you and how much my mom was like you . I’m 77 almost 78 and she was self taught on everything. She did plumbing on our house and built a wall and all because my dad had passed so young. Back in the fifties this was unheard of. She was a seamstress and everything she had to do she achieved. Love your gutsy spirit and thank you as always for sharing. Your home is such an amazing journey. Love your ❤fur babies.

Lissette, most crosscut saws cut in only one direction, forward. Take the pressure off the return stroke and it will be half as tiring. Also, put your index finger alongside the handle as if to point the direction. This will lessen your grip and make the cut straighter and again less tiring. A tight grip makes the saw turn to the left. Make a fist and watch the more you tighten it the more it twists to the left. Make a fist with your index finger out pointing and it will stay straight even when you tighten it. Don't fight the wood. Let the saw do all the work on the forward stroke. Go slower and relax. If it still doesn't cut well, get the saw sharpened.

It is coming together Lisette! I love it you inspire me so much! I'm turning a barn to a house, and I got some of the inside walls finished and things hung on them this weekend too! It feels so good! Part of the new wall is a new door with a window and it feels so lovely to have some light on that side now! I love the shelves and all of your beautiful China!! Lisette the kitchen is coming along very nicely. I have a feeling that you put a lot of thought into your projects so that you accomplish the look you are after. You might look into getting a portable table saw to help you rip those long boards and save you some aggravation with that hand saw. The mounting hardware for your bifold door should give you insight into how you will frame the opening, there isn't really a lot of parts to it. Purchase the parts if necessary...they have kits with everything you need in them.

Speaking of tapping maples, our temps here in Maine were perfect this last week, freezing at night and above during the day. I carried 5 gallons buckets of sap overflowing. Started boiling Saturday and will continue into Tuesday. I’m glad I prepared for this year on a larger scale. 👌

That sheepskin reminds me of the blankets I have made with them, 2 hides long and repeat 4 more times, for a total of 8 , or 72"×96", all hand stitched, 8 count. The hides came from New Zealand. It also has fox tails, legally sourced, that go with two other tassels on each corner removable braided ties. It's very warm, it also can be washed in a large machine and air dried, and brushed to make fluffy again.
You will want a dog brush for yours when it gets matted.

Hello Miss Lady Lisette. Things seem to be progressing very nicely in your kitchen. You mentioned doing some kind of trim in ceiling like you did in the corner, well you can use something called a "Plinth" block. It looks something like the corbels you used on your shelf over the stove. NO mitering involved. They would go in corners & seams where 2 pcs. of crown molding meet. Real time saver. You can space them as you like. Now I'll let you go back to finish your wonderful strawberries. Hugs to all. 🙏❤
Maybe I should've mentioned they were a big thing back in 30's & 40's in baseboard at bottom of doorways. When you go to your lumber yard to get your molding, they should know what you're talking about. Addendum. Just a reason to get more hugs. 🙏❤❤😊
