In our experience though, there are certain games that are definitely out to get you, tipping the scales when the opportunity arises to really screw you over. Your job in Tetris, for instance, is to tessellate an allegedly random selection of falling blocks. I say allegedly, because sooner or later in every round of Tetris you end up with the perfect vertical gap for a one by four tetromino.
If the game would just dish up one of those shapes you could clear four rows in a single, satisfying deletion. Instead, the game serves up all the other, more awkwardly shaped pieces.
By the time a 1x4 does show up it's too late to rotate it and wiggle it into position because you've already panic-stacked a bunch of dumb S-shapes randomly on top of that skinny crevasse. All that's left is to curl up and slowly wait for Tetris death.
When you consider that Tetris scam alongside the way Mario Kart mucks around with the racer in first place, which is surely always you, the way Street Fighter Alpha 3 lets its boss M Bison cheat seven ways from Sunday, and the way biased WWE 2K referees have a soft spot for AI-controlled fighters, it's starting to look like a conspiracy.

*Only* 4 hitmans? I've never played the game myself but I regularly watch OXBox play it and I'm sure you can get 2 or 3 hitmans tops.
What about when you are about to knock out a guard who can't see you in any way, but when you go to make the move they psychically notice you, spin around 180° and try to punch you while making the loudest noise ever known to humanity.

I can think of several stealth games where I'm escaping a pursuer and they go an illogical route to look for me, not even pretending they don't know exactly where I am. Sometimes I'll see their head track me trough a concrete wall as they come around the corner. Might as well have dialogue accompany it. _"Oh gee I wonder where he iiiis"_
Like in Ghost Recon Wildlands, when a random npc sets off the enemy npcs, and they investigate where you are, two towns over?
I call it psychic game bullshit. Same thing when fighting game AI just reads your inputs instead of reacting AFTER a reasonably decent human-length reaction time. Nope, he reacts to your shit before you even see it happen on screen, reading your buttons the millisecond you press it. They mainly do this because they're pretty lazy with "AI" design in games, especially fighting games where the prevailing "logic" is just "oh well the main point is fighting other people or going online, so what's the point?" The point is not to be lazy and cut corners just because you think it "doesn't matter" lol. You could make that excuse about *a lot* of different things but that doesn't mean you should start doing it.

Alien Isolation was actually meant to be like that. The beginning of the game its not hard to hide but throughout the game the Alien learns and picks up on the actions you take to avoid it, checking areas more thoroughly making it more difficult.
Well, surely that means that if I don't know what I'm doing, it doesn't learn how to counteract me.

The ai is bullshit and pissed me off many times before I beat it. It learned that I was damn good at the game so to make it harder it made it impossible. Wanted so much flamethrower because i literally couldn’t progress without it all the time.

That's why whenever I played, I would constantly mix up how I play to confuse the AI. It worked half the time... for the Alien at least.

The cougars aren't so much a problem, it's that they always seem to spawn the moment something else is going on.
That reminds me of the funniest thing that's ever happened to me in RDR me and my friend were bored and assholes kept killing our horses so we ran out into the wild to get away from that we get near a train track next to a water fall when I say "Alright I think we're good" as soon as I said that a cougar came up from behind me and ripped my asshole wide open and my friend is panicking shouting "Oh shit! Oh shit!" shoots at the cougar with all 6 rounds from his revolver and missed every shot you can guess what happened next. We couldn't stop laughing for hours. And about 5 years later I'm playing GTA 5 standing next to my friends car which he placed on the train tracks I'm standing next to his car to scare him because he was messing with his phone I tell him to look up and right as he does I hear a train coming turn to see how far away it is and as soon as I did I turned into a red smear on the side of my friends car I laughed so hard I woke my neighbors up. I learned after that night though I should never stand by train tracks in a video game it always means deaths cold embrace is coming
I had two saves, on one I was nearly 100%ed and the jackalope was one of the last things I needed. I scoured the West high and low, and couldn't come across it. On my piss around and shoot everything save, I was riding between towns and randomly got the point when I accidentally ran it over with my horse.
The alien AI uses a simple system that utilises 2 AI`s at the same time. The first AI or the 'Body'can only control the aliens body and its movements. The second AI, the 'Brain' always knows where you are but will only give hints to the body controlling AI. This usually follows the system where the brain gives the body a hint every 20 seconds or so and you can see this in-game when the alien will suddenly change direction. Hints are also given when you make a noise or when you run. After the section in the infirmary, the time between hints decreases to 10 seconds and later on to 5. To stop the alien working like a heat seeking missile, a third AI is introduced to give false hints. This is also why you can see the alien go up into the vents to look at another part of the level. Difficultly doesn't really change these values, just adds more detail to the hints making you easier to find.

Thank you for pointing this out.. I was thinking of the video explaining this when they said something along the lines of "it's unclear if this is intentional or not" in the video. This group constantly makes claims that can be thrown out the window after > 2 mins research.. apparently cheesy comedy in the form of ignorance beats facts and proper information when it comes to their priorities.

The developers said the xenomorph had two programs, one that knows where you are, and gives hints to the others, and one that searches for you using said hint.
Yea, i always chalked it up to ai cheating when it found me and shouldn’t have because really the game knows where you are all the time so it has to pretend it doesn’t.
Yeah. The part that knows where you are tries to give hints but it's the ignorant part that gets to drive and use environmental clues like noise makers. It's why the pacing and tension of that game are sublime.
I think someone at EA tracks my happiness levels and makes me lose whenever it gets too high

Lol. I remember doing a Pacific Standard heist months ago and we decided to use the bikes and go on the highway (a glitch we were doing didn't work). A van literally drove across all lanes just to run me over and kill me. I just went to bed after that.

You know that inconvenient tiger got me an achievement in Far Cry Three, to take out a stronghold without any of them realising I was there, I found a hold with three pirates and marked them, about to go out, then I see one of them disappear, then another, turn around a corner to see what happend and tge tiger ran towards the last guy and killed him, then it gave me the achievement

That pull at the end of the Alien section made me jump out of my chair, even though I knew it was coming... and that's why games like that in my nope list.
Oh, the Alien in Alien: Isolation absolutely cheats, at least on the hardest difficulty. I once counted, in exasperation, how many times it came back looking for me. In that large medical/operation area I was hiding in a room, of course, and I heard the alien leave. So I slowly sneak out and the alien comes back into the area, so I hide back in the room. A minute later the alien walks by, then comes back into the room. After looking around it leaves through a vent again. So I'd sneak out and once out of the room it came running back! It did this NINE TIMES IN A ROW! I'd swear It felt like I was hiding in that room for a full hour before the ridiculous game let me finally leave that room and continue on.

I saw in other comments about the same game that as the game progresses, the alien begins to learn how you act so it can counteract more accurately. That's probably why the alien kept doing that. It was learning your actions.
Alien isolation the only game that has stressed me lut
It's been a while but if I remember right, it's more aggressive when you get to the medical area. It calmed down again once I completed an objective there. Which might have been a gamey mechanic to make it seem as though the alien calms down after a while.
If you read the messages in the computers at the security office, it tells you about some incident that may have contributed to the alien's sour mood.
There is some randomness regarding the experience you have. My friend had no problem with some of the areas that troubled me. And I made quick work of some of the places he had a terrible time with.
Not listed: EVERY GAME WITH NON-COSMETIC MICROTRANSACTIONS EVER.
How about that moment in any racing game ever, where you're a few seconds from the finish of a very hard race and an ai truck just happens to turn in front of you, costing you the race and your sanity :/

I hate the rubberbanding that occurs in 95% of racing games. It rarely does it to your benefit (ie if you're in last place, the leader goes slowly). But if you're in the lead with a record breaking time, the second place car is right on your tail.

This was the most frustrating part of the Burnout series. Suddenly, not only was the AI rubber banding, it seemed like the traffic was all out specifically to murder you like you'd run over their dog this morning.

Actually surprised pokemon isn't here. I swear ai has a vastly greater chance of inflicting status, hit through stuff like confusion and paralysis. Basically RNG in their favor.
Michael Berresford if Pokemon was on here it would be for not being able to be defeated by ohko moves. I discovered this was in leaf green( against blue with a kingler with goitine and in heart gold I metronomed a fissure against Whitney's clefairy in heart gold too . Then they metronomed a shear cold and it worked on me.
Dunno about the gameboy games, but definately the AI cheats (A LOT) on the original pokemon stadiums (1 and 2) for the N64.
Zorua Fox ohko moves work like this: if the pokemon being targeted is a higher level, then the ohko move will never hit (that's for all games) and if the targeted pokemon is lower leveled, then the ohko move gains 1% of accuracy for each level. If the pokemon are the same level, then it's always a 30% chance.

Michael Berresford they actually don't have increased chances, it's basically a dice roll or coin flip everytime. Human nature makes people always want it happen but when it doesn't, it annoys them. Kinda like gambling. But when it comes to Pokemon, it's all in the values of number rolls: from damage, buffs/debuffs, and even getting wurmple to evolve into silcoon or cascoon (don't get me started)
WWE2K17 is the worst offender of any wrestling game. My opponent is flat on the mat, no health left, bleeding like a stuck pig. If wrestling wasn't fake I would be arrested for attempted murder. I feel a rare stab of pity for the pile of raw flesh that was my opponent and pin him. The Ref? He wanders aimlessly towards us and slowly lowers himself to the mat. At this point he says One! Then the ref forgets what he was on the mat for and stares into space. Remembering that there is still a match going on he says Two! Then he thinks to himself, did I leave the stove on? No I must have turned it off before I left. Do I need to buy milk on the way home? The grocery store will probably be closed by the time I leave here. What was I doing? Oh yes I was counting. Thr!! He kicked out at two and a half!
There's this WWE wrestler, Xavier Woods, who plays WWE2K17 on his UA-cam channel. At some point he faced Seth Rollins playing as himself, and after giving Rollins a bloody face and hitting his finisher 4 freaking times, Rollins was still kicking out like his life depended on it. Hilarious to watch.

That's not a far fetched idea. In the GTA world you can track cellphone signals and some unspecified government object, with an app that any jo-schmo can download onto a smart phone. I don't see it being all that far fetched that the police have the trackify app and follow your cellphone signal, since you can never turn it off.
It's a lesser known game, but how about IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey?
If you play the campaign on simulator mode, the best fighter aircraft in the game that you've spent the whole game that you've been looking forward to the whole time are almost useless. The Mk XI Spitfire has an unreliable engine that disintegrate when any part of your plane gets hit and breaks completely for no reason if you take a randomly selected amount of time too long. The legendary P-51 Mustang has an engine that runs on stupidly low power the whole mission, a poorly balanced fuel load that makes it handle like an 18 wheeler with no tires except when it doesn't - at which point it instead flips upside down or goes into a spin as soon as you so much as breathe on the stick - and the engine drops its power at a random point of its own choosing to about a third of whatever nothing it gave you in the first place. Oh, and that's not even counting how the missions in the Mustang are at least partly ground attack and in the second one you're given only enough ammo to have like two shots left over if you hit every shot, which is to all intents and purposes impossible since you're not even guaranteed a hit if you fire so close you nearly ram the target, land the rockets *on* the target, and have to fly through the flames of the explosion to pull up: and of course when you pull up with surgical precision from your 10 to 20 degree dive it flips upside down and plows the fields below with your face just for giggles.
Oh, and did I mention the I-16 Type 24? It was a perfectly capable aircraft when it was built, if rather hard to fly as a very early monoplane, but what the hell does Birds of Prey think it's doing serving up one with the world's most fragile engine in the fifth mission to fight multiple squadrons of *not outdated* fighters and bombers while backed up by forty-odd other obsolete planes who love nothing more than to shoot through you, ram you, and waste fifteen minutes or so all chasing a single fighter so that they can finally hit and shoot it down at the exact moment you engage it for no discernable reason other than to keep you flying from point to point for an hour to waste your precious little fuel supply so that you lose power when the bombers arrive and crash when you try to glide the rickety twitchy rust bucket down onto whatever field you find only to have the landing gear collapse every damn time.

Yea the police in gta5 infuriate me. Not only are they really hard to get away from unless you happen to be near a tunnel or go far off-road before being spotted prior to 3 stars, but their cars also seem to have rocket engines when chasing you and are able to ram your increasingly fast super cars with their decidedly not even sports car patrol vehicles at a speed roughly double your own. That is what gets me extremely angry at the game. I can be going around 200 mph in a Lamborghini lookalike, and the can still ram me in their Crown Victoria lookalikes. The f gta? Seriously, the f.

Top speed Is about 120 in game on the vic. Top speed of the fastest cars are around 130 140. So it makes sense they can keep up.
Yet they are super easy for me to dodge no matter the wanted level, double easy near Franklin's old house
I've always found it odd in certain games where when enemies turn into allies, they always seem to be less powerful or more stupid. This also includes cutscene interactions.

Every multiplayer game ever made in the history of ever has been specifically and maliciously designed to put me and very SPECIFICALLY ME on a team of cross eyed brain dead drooling infants who've had both their thumbs amputated and every sane and competent player on the opposing team. I have made LITERAL (not figurative) graphs and spreadsheets showing that I statistically suffer more "bad luck" than my opponents so don't try to tell me I'm "paranoid" or "a sore loser" or "George seriously it's just a game put the hand grenade down!"

It's the most annoying thing ever, being the only one on your team to get any capture or defense points in CTF games.

But then I was forced to leave office because Lalilulelo didn't take kindly to my whole "Attempted coup" deal which only failed because SOMEONE (not naming names, but it rhymes with "Blocelot") decided to betray me for absolutely no reason! The reason why the alien gets harder is because it has an adaptive ai so it adapts to your play style
Austin Stewart yea I was starting to figure out the aliens moves in the game so I started avoiding doing dum shit. Then I started realizing that the alien was starting to catch on to my moves and by the time I knew I got fucked over few times and had to come up with something different to finish the game.
Huh that’s interesting. Think that was that shooting one can’t remember, but well, when it comes to games where I have to aim. I can’t aim properly, so I came up with the smarter idea of shooting in the opposite direction and it works, that game probably would be hell for me.
Actually it doesn't. There are two AI programs: a director which always knows where you are and gives general hints, and the xenomorph who follows the hints according to a skill tree which gradually unlocks.
I have been able to lose the cops easier in real life than in gta 5. And I said too much

FIFA isn't really much rigged, stamina and player stress takes hold and you forget that the AI has a scripted amount of getting things done. You're job is to prevent it, but millions of players get nervous and then blame the ai for screwing you over.
The AI is SUPPOSED to beat you idiots, just like a real life team. I understand what you guys feel, but alot of the times we blame the ai's instead of yourselfs. The best FIFA players in the world know how to control these things from happening, and if you mean how does ai, or other people score impossible goals? its because the game has an unrealistic ball speed which often is too fast of an animation for the goalkeepers to even begin a save animation (its not the reactions of the gk itself) also when it comes to crosses and header, for the longest time Goalkeepers didnt even have save animations for particular headers so thats why it goes in and people think it's rigged. They didnt even have defending wing animations for lobbed ball defending until 16 think. one of the reasons why wing running was OP in earlier titles.

A classic of course was the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy text game, which had two tools of which you could only carry one to a specific location - and would require you to have whichever one you hadn't carried.
That's why you were supposed to find all the fluffs to grow the fluff fruit and eat it after drinking both your "tea" and your "no tea" so that you could get a vision of what tool Marvin would ask you for.
The alien one isn't cheating. It actually learns how you hide n run n play. It's a learning alien, that's what makes the game much harder the better you play.
So in other words give SovietWomble the first half and the second is a cakewalk.

From what I've heard, there are two AI brains in control of the Alien. Fun note: In the Mario Kart Wii game (for the original wii), you can avoid the blue shell. I've done it twice. If you have a mushroom boost, you can hit it just as the shell is about to dive and escape the blast radius. Or if you have a bomb-omb, you can throw it in front of you and the shell can follow it instead. But I think those might be bugs. The best way to avoid the blue shell is to go into a cannon.

how about on skyrim and its archery, Ive lost count of the amount of times I've shot an arrow where someone is/going to be only to have them stop for no reason halfway through their patrol, turn on a coin and go the other way or randomly burst into a sprint/speed slide out of the way of the arrow while you're in sneak mode and there should have been no reason the npc acted like that. Hell I even had one moment where a bandit was standing next to a chest and as soon as I let loose on the arrow she turned around and used the chest making herself duck and the arrow went over her head. -_- Its not just me either Ive seen this stuff happen to ESO when he does his skyrim videos.
i have that happen all the time! i usually go for a sneak archer and sometimes the npcs will literally slide sideways in order to evade my arrow. keep in mind IM LITERALLY SNEAKING
That happened to me a lot in The Last of Us, when im trying to clear a room with the bow and I'm trying to headshot everyone for a clean kill. Clickers were the worst. Call me a perfectionist but I restart at last check point everytime those fuckers suddenly decide to move out of the way. It's like they had spider sense. It's like they knew I was aiming for their head. Fucking annoying.

Half Life 2 Episode 1. This is a bit of a game-breaker but do-able. When you arrive at the train station for the final fight, use the gravity gun to manually move RPG rounds (the loose ones lying around the ammo crate outside) to the passenger escape area. Take as many as you want over, but make sure you have enough to bring down a strider (5, so 3 in your inventory plus a couple of spares). Go back, kick off the ending battle, take down the Combine forces, escort the citizens out, trigger the last sequence of dialog with Alyx.
The Strider that chases you through the shipping container area will show up. Use your carried RPG rounds to take it out before it can fuck up the gate and force you to cross over the crates and duel it along the way. Yay! You won and can just walk out without that tedious firefight on the gantries, dealing with mines, the ever-present Strider, and so on, right?
*WRONG!*
If you take down the Strider before it traps you into said tedious fire-fight...the computer spawns another. Oh no, mister, you're _going_ to do this fight _our_ way! - Valve Software (probably). Just for shits and giggles I turned on cheats, god-mode, and gave myself another pile of RPG rounds and it spawned a _third_ Strider.

Wyatt Roberson It's even worse on a pirated copy of Fire Red at least. Maybe it's just me but a friend handed down his GBA and LeafGreen and FireRed recently. The FireRed is pirated based on the cartridge label and the whole "The save file is ok" message upon selecting 'Continue' that I've never seen in a legit copy. I swear to God there is an obvious bias in favor of the AI throughout the whole game what with how regularly the AI (Wild and Trainer battles) land critical hits. At first I thought the RNG was just uncommonly unlucky but then I began to see a pattern and I'm assuming it's an anti-piracy measure to troll people courtesy of GameFreak.
This particular bit's truth is multiplied by 15 when you are doing a nuzlock almost as though it magically knows you're doing a nuzlock.

Okay, can I just say that I *HATE* the Mario Kart Blue Shell! It serves no actual purpose other than to screw up the guy in 1st. I've never seen anyone get it in a position where it could actually help the person who throws it, making it a completely useless item to get, and on top of that, it screws up the guy in 1st and likely the one in 2nd as well. It is the game almost literally saying "screw you" to the person in 1st. It seems like Nintendo kind of figured this out when they made the horn, the one item that can defend against it other than a perfectly timed mushroom, but that's hardly enough. If you ask me, it should just be removed from the game entirely.

You can be half a lap ahead for the whole damn race, then an Escalade appears out of nowhere as you drift the last corner, with no way to steer around it as you slide sideways at 150mph, which allows every other racer to pass you within sight of the finish line. especially prominent in pink slip races, just to make sure you lose all of your cars trying to get the other guys one. this game is also severely guilty of the "rubber banding" you spoke of. there is no way a Mitsubishi should be able to beat a Lamborghini consistently.
Max Power I raced the hard difficulty constantly mostly for the dub edition cars and if I was doing well, the ai had no chance of catching up

Using the same "Hold button while selecting character" secret that lets you play Shin Akuma when used on normal Akuma, you can actually play as Super M-Bison by using it on M Bison who locked into X-ISM and most definitely able to use the Super Psycho-Crusher.
Company of Heroes: Fogs of war doesnt apply to A.I. at key moments. The map was divided by a river with a destroyed bridge and theres zero options available to the AI to see the far reaches of my side, yet the AI knows exactly where my elite units are hidden to randomly fire the Calliope rockets at. I initially accepted this as a good guess and move them to another part of the map. A few minutes later, it fires its next barrage into a totally different area, hitting my relocated hidden units again. This happened multiple times proving the fogs of war are not applicable to the AI.
And if you play on the highest difficulty, the AI produce units from nowhere, for no resosurces, doubles the outcome of the production AND can build units from buildings that can't build units (tried with panzerwaffe AI)
I've never played an RTS game where FoW applied to AI.
You think GTAV is bad, remember GTA San Andreas? Get the highest wanted level and say goodbye cop cars, hello infinite tanks, and unlike GTAV in San Andreas you cant hide until they go away. I've literally used a flying car to get from San Feirro to Los Santos and as soon as I landed on the ground, infinite tanks.
YPP luckily you used a flying car but if you try to fly in a legit flying vehicle, like a helicopter or a plane, and you got 6 star wanted level they send jets after you.
On the plus side if you get in a jet before getting that wanted level the ensuing dogfight is quite fun. I loved doing that. I had one time where I was in active combat with them for over an hour. It’s like Ace Combat gta edition, lol.

As with GTA V, it's the same deal with the 5'o if you decide to.. say, hide in an alley. Cops decide to stop their car a few meters away and DECIDE TO JUST SEARCH THAT ONE ALLEYWAY or maybe even climb that one ladder to the roof that you're on.
That's why the newer Tetris games use a bucket randomizer. It throws each piece into a bag, and pulls them out one at a time until you hit one of each before shuffling them up again.
Also I've heard the Alien has two AIs, one that controls movement but doesn't know where you are, and one that knows where you are and feeds the first one hints if it's stumped.
ufc undisputed 2010 was messed up in the career mode. If you enter the championship fight with a really good record (i was 7-1, 7 KOs), the champion just rushes to you, takes you down, and gets you in a submission. Submissions from the computer are virtually inescapable and this was all on the easiest mode

Gandhi was just a bug. His aggro was so low that if he picked some religious traits the parameter would go below zero and that was interpreted as a 14 (in a zero to 12 scale. So he could nuke you before you could even build one nuke)

Playing Rainbow 6 Vegas on coop my buddy and I found that the AI always knew where at least one of us were. For example I could actually watch an ai aim his weapon and follow my buddies movements even when he was behind a wall. Even if the AI was behind a wall they literally knew exactly where he was.

I Hate rubber banding on NFS games. You can see them sometimes after a AI wrecks or just falls way behind, you will see their icon travel thru the map without using the roads.
You hit 3 finishers in a row and the enemy wrestler kicks out and hits you with his once, proceeding to instantly win
The best example in my experience of the game screwing you up is Megaman ZX there is an optional boss called 'Omega' and if you have life hacks he will literally do a move where he disables your hacks or simply ignore the coding(not really sure how it works) and damage you not regarding the hack plus the fight is hard as as hell in any dificulty.
i once downloaded mario party onto an emulator to see if the dice rolls were actually random. turns out theyre all decided at the beginning of the match.

Kevlar Moneyclips A computer can't actually randomly generate a number the way a person does. A simple RNG system has a long list of numbers the developers created that it runs through as number rolls are required. Thus, a person could theoretically play through such a system, memorize the rolls, and then go back and know ahead of time what the rolls will be if its position on the list is saved with all the other data. That's only for a really basic system though, and I'm sure modern developers have a more sophisticated process that gives you different results every playthrough.

When you move a soldier right next to the last remaning alien to finish it of with a clear open 95 % shot... and it misses... or the enemy dodges so you do to little damage to kill it... or the move happens to reveal yet another enemy squad that was lurking at the edge of the map. And then that soldier gets butchered and your remaning soldiers panic.
Reminds me of a GIF I saw of a dude in X-COM running up to an alien, at POINT-BLANK RANGE, with a 97% shot... and the guy shoots a bush that's like 2 feet away from the alien. >< WT actual F, game.
This is even worse if said soldier is using a SHOTGUN. Which is literally the best weapon to use in close quarters combat. And really should not miss at point blank range.

The Tetris part hit a chord with me because I’ve played an obscene amount of Splatoon 3 Tableturf, and it sucks when I have the perfect spot to play a specific card and get a ton of special points, and either a. The card never comes, b. The spot is filled up when you do get that card, or c. When you play the card, you get none of those special points because there’s still one empty space bordering the special tiles.

I forget which wwe game it was (maybe 2007) where you could spam the reversal button and almost always reverse the ability unless you didn't know which type of move they where going for. I also prefer the button mash to avoid a 3 count rather than the stupid minigame prompt to get the line in the colored spot. There should be an option to return some key features to the older format

Actually, I loved that. It made the Endor: Hunt mission nearly impossible, since the Ewoks won like 100% of the time. Winning it was just about the hardest thing to do in that damn game.
(Also, a crouching Yoda could hide under the swamp in Dagobah, becoming completely invisible. My brother fell for it so much, it was wonderful.)
Stevethebarbarian I figured out how to win the endor hunting mission with the empire, order as many troops to follow you as you can (you don't really need them for fighting it's just that the more troops are with you the less likely they are to get themselves killed) then fire away at the ewoks also plant a turrant sense the direction of the fire will often help you find ewoks which is hard sense they are tiny and their weapons are completely silent
Re: GTA V, I swear that assassin's Creed 3 did the exact same thing. I would spend over half an hour sometimes trying to run away, hide in a bush, and then turn a corner and someone would recognize me and the chase was back on. Frustrating AF.
What about in Watch Dogs 1 where they do the Ctos scans? any "blackouts" i used would run out just before they give up the scan, which starts building it back up, and new ctos scan circles appear in front of you just as you are about to escape the one currently scanning you, with that scenario repeating indefinetly until the scan reaches 100%
You guys forgot FarCry 2. It had a weapon jam/malfunction system to mimic supposed real gun failures. Except-when you're about to shoot at an enemy-your gun just mysteriously jams or blows up. Oh yeah, your gun would in fact blow up and you don't have it anymore. So you purchase a new one, let's say a brand new pump action shotgun. Fire off 5 or 6 rounds to make sure it works. Then go about your game. You come across some enemy, aim and squeeze the trigger-'click'. Jammed. Brand new from the weapon shop, and just happens to jam when you face an enemy. Very nice. Once you buy a gun you can go take as many as you want for free though (also it's been a while so I don't remember but I think only explosive weapons like the rpg blow up, shotguns and stuff only jam)
I didn't like the whole thing where you would kill everyone at a checkpoint, turn around to get something, and they were already back at the checkpoint. I also thought it was crazy how much the AI would intentionally smash a Jeep or whatnot into your vehicle and unload from the mounted gun into you. Like, head-on collision just to stop you.
+Cheyenne winter yeah, almost all guns/rpgs would either malfunction and eventually blow up in your hands. You're right, you can always pick up unlimited ones at the weapon shop. Point was the AI seemed to determine your guns NEEDS to jam, right when you're in a firefight. Rpgs couldn't jam, but the grenade would flip out of the tube and plop to the ground...spin around...and then blow up. Real nice ubisoft

I've actually broken away from rubberbanding, you have to hut every turn precisely but it's possible to drag them farther and farther back and start lapping them but you gotta be on point I've only done it a handful of times in my ENTIRE 30 years of life.

Not only was he impossibly strong and fast compared to all the other enemies you fought but you were also forced to rush atacks against "it" because you were against a damn timer!
Pokemon Sun and Moon's Battle Tree is a nightmare. Computer players in Pokemon usually get better chances at random status effects/buff/critical hits, but the Battle Tree takes it up another level by specifically picking any and every Pokemon that can perfectly counter your team while getting a buff to those better status effect chances. And it doesn't stop there because every iteration of the game since Emerald has had some battle facility with the same cheating way, getting worse along the way.
Howza bout that "Fatal Four Way" where the game LITERALLY TELLS YOU to wait while they study your team and make one of the cpu's have the exact kryptonite.

The Kid Heem emerald frontier can be predicted and isn't too difficult if you have half decent IVs and can be arsed to EV train your pokes, that said, back then there was no simple way of checking IVs or EV training, making the competitive scene niche as getting good pokemon stats was an utter ball ache.

The Kid Heem IV "training" is only possible in sun and moon with the introduction of hyper training, which can only be done to a pokemon at level 100. In previous games IVs cannot be manipulated and are determined the moment you meet a wild pokemon. In all games post gen 2, Perfect IVs can only be obtained through breeding as hyper training is registered as a power up and doesn't actually increase any IVs and therefore does not affect breeding.
In Super Mario 64, there is an instance where the Penguin that you race in cool cool mountain swerves off of the track and never comes back. It ticks me off every time I race this penguin.

Any "random number generator" is really just a highly complicated program designed to appear random, but it's not actually random. It's been a long time since I played Red Dead Redemption on my PS3 but I remember this bird flipping moment all to well. When you lasso a horse and you are riding it back to your house at the MacFarlane Ranch decide to take a break and you camp out by a cliff and some trees. You know once you lasso a horse it's not yours until you save it by one of the homes you own?! So my camping trip is up and I decided to get back on my horse from Reno and start galloping to the MacFarlane Ranch. When all of the sudden I hear " Hey mister care to give a lady a ride?!" And she is on her way to you and your horse, pulls you off of your horse and starts to leave you in the dust. You get up and fixing to call your horse back when all of a sudden a cougar appears growling, clawing at you and starts to eat you while at the same time trying to get up from the fall you just had?! What the F@$%k! I swear that was just planted for me to screw me over?!?!!😒😠😠
I will say that on some home versions of SF2 Turbo or higher, it was obvious that the computer reacted not to the movements of your character, but to the motions on the controller. I had a controller that was slightly worn out, and I would occasionally fail an attack in spite of using the correct input. In response, the computer opponent would perform the perfect counter for the maneuver had it gone off.
