That shifting back on the Waku reminds me of the much sportier looking Nissan EXA Sportback, which the back could be configured in three different ways, plus the T-top.
@@RazorSharp75426 By that logic you couldn't say "NSX" to the current one, since it's a turbocharged 4WD. Anyway, not much except the concept status and the participation in the Super GT Series was known about the HSV-010. Yes, it was an FR (at least the GT500 Model was) and just like the GT500 Model, it had a V10.
OM goodness the Yamaha OX99-11 was an amazing machine for it's time geez. I looked up the specs it did 0-60 in 3.3 secs and had a top speed of 217mph bac in 92!!! Not to mention it would have had great handling and reliability that far surpassed then and to this day the exotic brands. If they lowered the price to about the same or 100k higher than the exotics of the days it should have easily sold if rich buyers were smart that is. My faves out of these are... Yamaha OX99-11 Mazda RX500 Mitsubishi HSR-II The other were neat as well. Another awesome and fast Japanese concept car(not featured in this vid) was the Mazda MX-03 Concept.
All pretty interesting, but you might forgot Jiotto Caspita and some others . My take on Japan was it's kinda ironic that Japan has punished people morally for standing out, while Japan itself has becoming a stand-out nation for years until now
5:09 From this angle, the Honda J-VX looks a bit like the Honda CRZ, another Hybrid vehicle. Honda could have easily skipped the dull looking Insight and brought something exciting like the J-VX.
a (not licensed) Mitsubishi HR family was appear in GPX Cyber Formula just sayin, some concept car also appear in that anime, Love how Japan autoworks doin concept car and reach anime Industry too
"Japanese brands have made thousands upon thousands of cool concept cars" Really? Just how many thousands is 'thousands upon thousands'? Because that sounds like some of the most overblown, unsubstantiatable hyperbole ever.
Ive always loved Japanese concept cars from the past.
Amazing video. Mitsubishi has to bring that car out sometime. Absolutely beautiful
The Honda JV car was obviously the basis for the CR-Z

Nissan's 2013 throwback to the Datsun 510 The IDX Nismo Coupe, everyone wants them to make it but no!
always loved the RX500, EX-III, 4200R, HSRs
Toyota Pod baybeee
Does anyone else think the rear grill and lights on the Yamaha look alot like the Mclaren F1?
1:59 300* not thousand.
Real pity is not producing HSV despite of being racer not prototype for the road. I also liked Acura ASC would've been something if real
If not for the financial crisis, we would've seen the HSV as the new NSX
@@NexxOmega just what I thought.
@@NexxOmega but HSV is front-engined isn't it? Technically its not really a new NSX

1:19 - the nose also reminds me of an Esprit crossed with an FC RX7

3:08 similar format to the Europa 😎

1:57 - Never heard of a 3000zx? But ok then 🤣 I'll let it slide.....😆 🤣 ..
HSR... Car of my dream.
I'm surprised that there was no mention of the Honda CR-Z, considering how similar it looked to the concept.
Madza furai?
3000zx? Lol 1:58
was going to say. Only person that can say that with a straight face can't possibly know anything about cars.

Thanks for reminding me about how many Japanese manufacturers (I lost count) there are compared to the U.S.
I can't believe this list doesn't have the Mazda Furai and it's tragic ending.
What’s a 3000 zx? 🤨
It's 300ZX actually

Amazing cars !!
ah yes the 240sx super car, nice
waku waku ワクワク
So Huayra stole HSV concept with those flapy-thing then?
5:56 that's filth
Veilside RX-7, anyone?
OOH THAT'S FILTH 😮

And “they’re all a little…interesting” no need to sound condescending too.
Why is there no Suzuki gsxr-4 on list? You guys should fall on your sword for this lack of honor
AWD, not 4wd, come on uk, you know the difference.
It's just that japanese car companies don't know how to take the risk.. They're just boring..
All of those except the Honda look awful, but the Honda is an EV so it’s also trash
I see Japanese, concept, and car in the same sentence, I *_insta-like._*
(edit): That JV-X looked like something out of 2016. Just wow 🤦🏾♂
4:27 that sure does look like the CR-Z :) its cool though
10:43 Civic EF hatch vibes
