The Content is a GREAT show on the BBC Bill!
Bill was all dressed up, tie and jacket, PLUS his hair was groomed! Outstanding Bill.
This podcast is great. Keep it up
Hello. I'm a republican who is respectfully trying to find decent counterpoint conversations to listen to and i appreciate you folks. My goal it to better understand why anyone would vote for Biden and I mean that genuinely. I hope to gain some insight from you that is better than the argumentative and downright disrespectful folks at MSNBC and such.
I just felt like saying keep up the good work and i look forward to listening to more.
Thanks! Having done a lot of cable tv, I believe this space generally allows for more time and nuance. Glad you found us, and thanks for commenting!!
It's pretty basic why people would vote for Biden:
A) Only two people have a chance of winning this election and Trump is the other one.
B) He's the most progressive candidate that has a chance at winning
C) As a progressive there is nothing the Republican party has to offer on the issues I care about
D) I genuinely believe Trump (and Republicans in general) would make the problems we have worse. The threat of Project 2025 being implemented is horrible for anyone that believes in effective governance.
In a winner take all election all it takes is the other guy being worse. I could ask the same things about Trump but as a Conservative I'm guessing the policy positions I find negative about Trump you find positive (tax cuts for corporations and wealthy, abortion restrictions, isolationist foreign policy, ignoring climate change, wanting to guy public health care, anti-worker policies, etc)
I will happily vote Biden.
Not voting Biden or Trump. Voting RFK, Jr. There's a reason they won't allow RFK, Jr on that debate stage. There excuses are simply that. Just excuses. If he makes the debate stage, he's are next President. That's what I believe.
Top notch analysis here backed up by PBS and BBC cred. Nebraska 2 sounds like it could be the Maricopa or Waukesha counties of 2024...
Matt, didn't your dad watch Ken Burns' Civil War when it was first on (I think in the early 90's)?
We don’t have cable, and believe it or not, I don’t think we could get pbs.
@@MattLewis whoa, we didn't have cable either (still don't now either) but we got the PBS channel on regular TV.
Congratulations on joining the PBS News Hour, Mr. Lewis. It warmed my heart to see the pleasantries between you and Mr. Capehart.
I want to return to that era of political discourse where opponents could be both civil AND friends . - Ezell Lundy

@@lundy3719yt thanks!!
The debate will never happen. Donald will find some excuse to back out. The only question is, what form that excuse will take.
