    He was Josephine's angel that day and she returned the favor...!!!!! Chief J Jonas I'll never forget him and what he said, " I can't leave her and someone said no one will know and he said I'll know...."

    I can't think of anything that the Firemen of 9/11 could have done different. You all went in to not only do your job but to save people. You all deserve the upmost respect. RIP to those who went into the building to rescue but lost their lives in the process. You all have my respect and I feel you are all heroes. Thank you.

      Joyleen Poortier the truth is that we were completely unprepared. WTC had some major design flaws which made the process more difficult. Issues that arose during the 1993 attack were not resolved making their job more difficult. These men went above and beyond God Bless all first responders who responded to 9/11. R.I.P. to all those who were lost ❤️

    Awesome account. Most people never realize that while they run away from danger, Fire, EMS and Police run TOO IT. No one knows how you would handle an emergency until you are in the middle. I have 39 years EMS under my belt and dont regret a second of it. God Bless those who gave their all on 911 while trying to save others.

    I am not trying to be mean in any way shape or form but he looks a lot older as if this had been recorded longer than 10 years after 9/11.

      Severe stress like that and then having to shape a new fire division because of the great loss of 343 fireman at one time certainly will age you. It's a miracle that he stayed so steadfast to be able to still be a leader!

      zully87 stress will age a person. He’s had a lot to live with

      It’s also worth noting that if he went back at all to ground zero for any length of time, there was exposure to heavy doses of many different hazardous chemicals. That alone plus the stress has aged many of the workers there.

    I thought he said at the start of the video that he was the only one that survived but then at the end he stated he was happy to see his men make it?

    • @swimxcd
      @swimxcd 4 роки тому +2

      The men from his ladder (or whatever the proper term is) that went into the North Tower with Jonas did survive with him. In the beginning of the video he mentioned a fellow fire fighter said something along the lines of "we may die today" these were firefighters he knew but not the ones he directly worked with. Hope that makes sense!

    FDNY on 9/11 ... a brotherhood that will go down in US history along with other hallowed groups x events, like 8th Air Force in WWII European theater; 16th and 116th Infantry Regiments on Omaha Beach D-Day; 7th Cavalry at La Drang Vietnam; the 23rd, 25th, and 27th Marine regiments at Iwo Jima in WWII Pacific theater; Mission Control & Crew of Apollo 13; The Sullivan Brothers on USS Juneau in WWII; Navy Seal Team 6 at the final justice for bin laden; and so many more like Chief Jonas. My God, where do find men like this? Our country is so lucky there are men like this because I don't think it's common in others.
