Ingredients
Drizzle of oil
2.5 pounds of ground beef
2 cups of water
2 cans 8oz tomato sauce
6 tbsp of McCormick taco seasoning or Views taco seasoning recipe- • How to make TACO Seaso...
2 medium bay leaves
4 tbsp ketchup
2 Tbsp white vinegar (same time as soy sauce)
1 Tbsp Soy sauce
1/2 Tbsp Knorr natural chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp fine black pepper or 1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup oatmeal
3 Tbsp AP flour
2 blended fresh tomatoes
1/2 blended yellow onion
1/2 tsp sugar (zulka)
Tortillas
Toppings- sour cream, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, Clouds salsa
Clouds salsa
Can of Pato sauce
1/2 Tsp Mexican Oregano :)

I worked at taco bell. I didnt know how to cook AT ALL (i was 18) but I loved taco bell. So imagine my shock when I found out the taco meat and sauce was in the fridge already made/processed in bags-we just heat it up. At the end of the shift we were supposed to throw everything away. Of course I didn't. I took home whatever I could get away with. It wasn't much . They thought I was taking home drinks but I was really putting the beans and taco meat in the extra large 32 oz drink cups and putting 2 lids on top. Some mexicanos use country crock containers-i used 32 oz cups🤣😂

I also worked at Taco Bell in the 70’s, the taco meat was made fresh back then, we browned the meat then added the spice pack.
Yummy! Also: the beans were made in a huge vat, then a commercial size drill was used to grind the beans, we always took out some beans and put them in a bowl w/cheese…so good. Back then the toppings were fresh and chopped daily.
This made me laugh so hard. THANK YOU for sharing this story haha. I love that you did this. No sense in throwing the food in the garbage!!

I found this video about 6 months ago when I was wanting to recreate Taco Bell tacos at home and it has become a staple in my house. I literally ALWAYS have this stocked in my fridge or freezer because of how delicious and easy it is. Everyone I’ve made this for loves it. It takes like 10 minutes of prep and then it practically cooks itself. Also, the flavor is so close to Taco Bell’s ground beef but way fresher tasting and with more depth of flavor. I used to go out to eat when I felt too tired to cook and would probably eat out at least 3 times a week… but having this pepped in the fridge has completely eliminated the impulse to eat out. It’s quicker than leaving the house to get fast food, budget friendly, EASY and so satisfying.
I have been craving Taco Bell for over a year, as I have been isolating at home with my elderly parents who are high risk for Covid. I read through many recipes today and I am SO glad I decided to make yours! I think we each ate about six tacos, the meat was that dang good. As others have said, your personalities are wonderful too, so you have a new subscriber in me! Thank you for making my evening.

Made this tonight. Very good recipe. I have been craving crunchy Taco Bell tacos but have given up fast food. This really hit the spot. I would say these tacos are better than Taco Bell tacos and healthier too. First time I ever have fried corn tortillas- I didn’t know they need to be fried quite longer than flour tortillas, mine weren’t quite as crunchy as Taco Bell’s but that didn’t stop it from tasting amazing! I made my little son a taco pizza from a flat fried corn tortilla instead of a taco and he loved it. Thank you for the recipe!

Nailed everything thank you for the video! Wife and my boys enjoyed them, my younger son said it was good but they were smaller and skimpier than the ones from Taco Bell or Jack In The Box sell, he went and saw the video again and said we missed the taco shell maker that's why the taco shells were closed and we couldn't stuff them LOL. So I just made this and it’s definitely Taco Bell consistency, so big props there. And I’d be interested to compare it to Taco Bell meat directly. It’s very similar for sure. My kids think it tastes *exactly* like Taco Bell. Very good! I’ll be making this again! (If I ever run out of what I’ve got... this recipe makes a TON)

Love crunchy tacos. It’s the texture of crunch, freshness of tomatoes, lettuce and salsa, and richness of filling, cheese and sour cream. We travel to Japan annually and tacos and enchiladas are what we crave when we return home to Bay Area.

Fun watching your cooking videos! Made this tonight and wife/kids all loved it… it’s a keeper. I used 2 cups of water per recipe in description but noticed at ~ 9:40 you mention to use 1 1/2 cup if using same day (didn’t catch that the first time). I’ll try that next time so there’s no need to simmer past 45 minutes to thicken up. Such a great recipe, Thank You Stephanie!

I love you!!! I work with Spanish girls from Guatemala, Dominica, and Mexico City. They bring lunch ( super to me) everyday. I ask for recipes they laugh. I can eat Mexican everyday. I would love to master a great corn taco. I have tried but nothing compares to a taco from California. That good corn smell Ohhh sooo good my favorite smell. I have followed recipes but, I feel the Masa Hadrian isn’t what I’m looking for. Do you know of a good brand? Do you have a video how to make corn tortillas? Love your videos. I just found your videos and am super excited. I grew up in Southern California as the only white girl on my block. I was welcomed into the homes of so many friends and enjoyed food from so many cultures. As a teenager my parents moved us to be close to my grandparents on the east coast where all the foods were southern savory comfort foods. While I love this style of country cooking I really miss all the flavors from my youth. Flavors you can not find in taco bell or even local mexican restaurants. They do not compare to watching my friends in their homes with their mom and grandma and aunts making everything with their hands with love and tradition. I can not wait to try your chile relleno recipe! As for this recipe, I'm definitely going to try it.

I could eat tacos 🌮 every day… I have to admit, I do love Taco Bell tacos but I’m sure your recipe is much better. Also, do you remember the Encharito that Taco Bell made back in the day?? (You’re probably too young) but those were my favorite Taco Bell item. A cross between a enchilada and a wet burrito 🌯. They’ve been discontinued, so sad 😪😥
