I tried it on my board! After only one session i can think I can conclude: 1: earlier and easier -more automatic- planing 2: better planing in between gusts 3: more control 4: Maybe a bit less topspeed
I wonder wich type of glue would resist to the salt water and lots of stress??? How long it will hold is nobody guess. I think... BTW .. Rob I have a rumba 310 board and I need to replace de straps and the rubber (gaskets???) of the daggeboard.. Could u have any ideas? The rubber has a particular shape to fit the trails in the board not easy to get, coz the board is old. The same as for the straps. They are made of aluminium and are corroded. Gotta to drill new holes, but the board is made of kevlar/carbon. That what says in the board. Thanks in advance!!
Great. Thanks for the feedback Rob. I'll do this also to one of my boards. Happy Xmas. All the best. Cheers.
Wow cool! I'd like to try that on a kiteboard.

After more sessions: too much drag.
So starboard and fanatic will copy this in 2021 😁

That it planes earlier and runs better upwind is to expect but I guess it's very tough in turns?
Not realy with that width, you just put slightly more weight on the back leg when jibing. I sail large slalom boards and its really easy.
How short can we make a Surfboard without losing to much Performance?
Do y think 1,2m to 1,5m is to short?
1.2m is is approx the distance from the tail to the mast, so that is your natural limit, i guess ;)
nice
goood idea but is some minus ? interesting why no one company make this ?
Are the aluminium profiles parallel?
Yes.
Thank you very much I will try it
