Market crashes come along with equivalent market opportunities if you are well informed and equipped, I've seen folks amass wealth in the midst of economic turmoil and even pull it off easily in favorable conditions. Invariably, the collapse is getting somebody somewhere rich

Choose quality stocks and follow them up. If you're not one for such complexities, work with an Advisor to grow your portfolio. You can't go wrong with a sound CFA.

Overall, 51% of traders think this year would favor stocks, mutual funds, and other equity-based investments, despite Treasury yields and other safer cash-like investments paying big. I’m looking for opportunities in the market that could fetch me $1m ahead of retirement by 2025

the strategies are quite rigorous for the regular-Joe. As a matter of fact, they are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skillset/knowledge to pull such trades off.

Risk mitigation is indeed something to consider well before setting out on inveestments. Most often than not, CFAs take care of this perfectly. People downplay the role of CFAs until being burnt by their own instincts. I was in a similar situation a few years ago; Took my chances but stocks went crashing. Realizing I wasn't good at timing the market, I started working with an Adviser, which helped me build a $1.6m portfolio.

Used to think investors lose out amid crash, meanwhile some make profits. I also thought folks went out of business during the great depression, but some went into business. Bottom line, there's always depression for some while others amass wealth gains.

Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. its important to seek the guidance of an expert

There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. As long as you know the ins and outs of what you're buying, you don't need to sell when the stock crashes.
Ins and outs here means the nitty gritty numbers, the sales, the revenue, the market size, news related to that particular market, news that isn't related but could somehow still affect that market, what that stock's competitors are doing, etc etc.
Today's investers just want to buy whatever's the hottest pile of shit on the street at that moment.

But, I don’t really like ETFs because they take the worst aspects of equities and Mutual Funds.
Equity pricing fluctuates separately from what the actual business is producing (ie. Tesla being worth more than the entire American car market?)
Mutual funds are priced once a day based on the underlying assets. But they are over diversified because everyone thinks that’s the key to making money.( the top 5 stocks in the S&P will always out perform the entire S&P. But there is less diversification in those 5 stocks.)
ETFs over diversify and over price because of market speculation.

My portfolio is very much diversified plus i don't do that by myself was guided by SEC regulated investment adviser, Suilian Mai Wilson, she's quite the genius in portfolio diversification and guidance, my portfolio just mirrors what she trades and not just on some particular industries of my choosing, my portfolio grows by averages of 20% on a monthly basis

It's far too easy for investors to lose perspective. whenever something big goes wrong, a lot of people panic and hold on to money that should be working for them. Looking at history, the markets recovered from corona virus, 2008 crisis, the dotcom crash.

I believe now in 2022 it is a totally different story. In the past US dominated the world, but it is no longer holding this position. Once US economy goes down, it is very hard for it to go up as in the past. If everyone think they can get rich by just buying US stock, it is just a big bubble !!

Invest only what you can afford to lose. For low income households, disposable income isn’t much. Ultimately the stock market is geared for the rich. The little people need strategy and tact if they are to survive.

He grew up in the time of the federal reserve and central planning. This strategy he uses only works with a fed to bail out every recession. It’s easy to make money when the printing press is on your side making inflation causing asset prices to rise. It’s when that bubble pops when kings are made. People who follow this kind of logic will have paper profits that are big but those dollars will buy little.

Never getting out of the market mentality seems to have backfired this year though...
I came in with that mentality and now I'm down -20% with not a lot of cash to take advantage of the bargain prices,
Whereas if I sold in early January as soon as rate hikes were announced, I might be better off..

    It's all subjective...
If the company has value and good housekeeping. If it's undervalued and has a good market cap. If the sector is coming into rotation. You can send me a check. Start buying it. When it goes down keep buying it. If it keeps dropping wait a little longer and buy more. Eventually it will come back up and eventually become valuable. All those places you bought on the way down will add value.
