  • This is the same description used for videos 11A, 11B and 11C.
    Fake Book Hieroglyphics: C = C69 = C Major7 = C Major 7 w/9
All of the above are symbols for Roman Numeral I or the Tonic chord.
Fourths voicings that work well as a tonic or one chord:
    3 6 9
    9 5 1
    7 3 6
    6 9 5
Play all of these and use the numbers to transpose your favorite sound into other songs and keys. There is no right or wrong sound. This is entirely up to you.
    For example:
If your song is in the key of C and you play 3(E) 6(A) 9(D) for your I chord
Then lets say you have a song in Eb major - simply find 3(G) 6(C) 9(F) and that is your voicing for Eb Major7.
I broke my 4ths voicings into two groups.
    Group 1: 951 and 369
    Group 2: 695 and 736
I hope this will get you started with greater freedom and greater organization.
    Love,
    Mark
