Thank you everyone for giving the video over 100 likes!!! Talking about the Skylanders series has been so much fun and I'm glad the gaming and Skylanders communities enjoyed my work! 🙌🥺
Not enough people appreciate the sheer amount of character design that went into these games, as well as the amazing banter between the VAs and the soundtrack. Up until Imaginators, the amount of passion the devs put into this franchise was unparalleled. I never quite appreciated how immersive the universe of Skylands was as a kid, but after replaying the series during quarantine I realized that the devs not only created something memorable but also fresh and new - and surprisingly mature for a children's series. All of the other Toys to Life (such as Dimensions and DI) catered primarily to nostalgia in order to sell, but Skylanders will always be unique in that it forged its _own_ success thanks to nothing but the sheer ingenuity and creativity behind the dev team. That feeling when you put your first Skylander on the portal can only be described as magical....I'd like to personally thank the devs and the Skylanders community for all the memories we got to share!
@@Mikeinoid I love all the Skylanders game they are all my favorite, I have so many idea and imaginations creating Skylanders that just popped out of my own brain by drawing them. Skylanders Cosmics (Skylanders from the future) Skylanders Titans, Skylanders Dreamers ( Night's & Reala ) Skylanders Freedom Riders (riding animals for mount's instead of cars or air crafts), Skylanders Pirate (Zack & Wiki, Zack Storm & many more) Skylanders Pokemon Masters (I've been inspired by Dollightful, Diana dollfairy, & Dollmotion for creating humanoid pokemon so I thought putting their doll into good use bye turning one of them into a skylander character) Skylanders Lightseekers, Skylanders Dimension ( other world's like Tak, Sonic, Crash, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Daisy, Rosalina), Skylanders Warrior's of Rock, Skylanders DarkStalkers, Skylanders Ancient's, Skylanders Ghostforce, Skylanders TimeForce, Skylanders SoundBlasters, Skylanders Pagemasters Skylanders Adventure's of Sleepy Hollow (Headless Horseman, Pumpkin Jack, Medievil sir Daniel Fortesque I gave him a bottom jaw and no crooked teeth, Jacko & his girlfriend Jill o Lantern from chalkzone, Scarecrow from Batman the series) I wish Mothra, Godzilla, Bravestarr, Silverhawks, Extreme Dinosaurs, & StreetSharks, hunter x hunter cheetah, colt, Meruem, Rammot, Kite, killua, & gon, Twelve Forever, become part of future Skylanders games. I wish there were more Skylanders game for the future.
For reference on superchargers, Kaos even turns off portals to skylands until Hugo connects the new portal. (Basically the old portals could have not worked in this game until after you beat it, and it'd be lore accurate.)
Honestly, if Skylanders released now with updated characters, collabs with TikTokers and UA-camrs would honestly be a giant release. If they played their cards right, it could create its own series and comeback. I still play Skylanders and still buying them. Love the video man
@@drewskidewsk altho it is sad i kinda agree with this because when you buy a 60$ game and find out you also have to collect the toys its kinda of a cash grab but yeah as a kid when i didnt understand money it was really fun
God, I miss this series so much. Chop Chop was my favourite, he had all I wanted from a character: An undead medieval knight with exposed skeletal parts; A design choice like that was right up my alley.
When I briefly tried toys to life Lego Dimensions was my go to thing - but I saw skylanders and am glad to see it had some cool stuff in it. Thanks for rundown of it all
Giants was literally my entire childhood. I played it every second I possibly could. I had a huge collection of toys, too. My dad always bought them for me at a local used bookstore. Eruptor was my favorite, and I wouldn’t let ANYONE touch my precious eruptor figurine. God, that theme song will be forever ingrained in my brain.
I just realized something, for every element when they were first introduced, they always had at least 1 dragon, Spyro, Cynder, Camo, Warnado, Bash, Zap, Drobot, Sunburn, and the core Light and Dark Dragons
Dang, the last Skylanders game I played was Swap Force and I remember grinding the crap out of that game with my brother. I still have a bunch of the figures somewhere in my basement and I have no plans on ever selling them.
What I got from this was that having started with Giants then playing Swapforce and missing out until Imaginators, I got to experience the best of the franchise. Its a real shame they didn't space a year between each release to give longevity to the games, if anything they would have gotten more money.
You don't know how much this means to me when even in 2021 Skylanders is still going strong. Keep up with your stuff my friend and hopefully 1 day Skylanders will rise again.
I was never more excited for a series than i was for Swap Force. Me and my friend were absolutely obsessed with Slylanders and would hang out daily to play the games, talk about how certain things could be improved and we would even design our own figures at times. Now I’m 20 and studying game art and design haha, some things never change
Oh wow this brings back so many memories. When I was a kid my friend had got Giants for x-mas and we would occasionally play it together at his house. That was the first time I was exposed to this series. A year later my parents bought me swap force for the 360. This was huge for me because I really wanted to get the game for myself and actually told my parents of how fun I thought it would be to wake up every Saturday morning and play the game (I used to wake up at 8 every Saturday, before anyone else and I just watched TV and had my own alone time in the morning). It was also the very first video game that I every owned. I had played mariokart and some other stuff on my older sister's DS but Skylanders was the first ever game that was actually mine. I still remember the sheer excitement I got from placing Washbuckler on the portal for the first time. For a really long time I had never owned a video game outside of the series and my friends and classmates sometimes made fun of me whenever I said my favorite video game was Skylanders. As the years went on I bought Trap team, Superchargers, and Imaginators. I could only buy about 6-10 other characters per game and yeah there are ones I wish I got to own but I was happy with what I had. My favorite in the series would either be Swap force (partially because it was my first) or superchargers. Even though I felt there were a lot of problems with Imaginators and I could feel the series was dying in terms of sales and quality, I still felt sad when they announced the series was ending. This series gave me so many fond memories as a kid and is very likely the entire reason I got into video games. I did play Disney Infinity 2.0 and 3.0 but Skylanders will always be better to me because of the impact it had on me today. I realize as I am typing tall of this, my entire collection of skylanders is 5 feet from me. I don't think I can ever get rid of my collection because of how much the series means to me.
Skylanders Trap Team will always have a special place in my heart, as it was the first game I got to play early. My brother managed to win a competition when Trap Team was announced, and he won alongside some other lucky people. I would have been around 8~ years old when this happened so I can't remember the specifics of what happened when we played. All I really remember from it was being even more excited for the game to come out. Great video mate.
I literally own every single skylander of the first 4 games... I used to be totally addicted to the games. This video inspired me to invite an old friend to play a Skylanders marathon.
Man, a Skylanders marathon actually sounds like fun, I stopped playing after I got the dark edition for Skylander's Superchargers Racing. I'm still kinda mad, a family member got it for me for my birthday and was excited to play Bowser in the real game, and then it was racing, worst part is it was like $100 USD
I have recently been interested in the Skylanders series again. Considering buying swap force. I wanted to find content on the Skylanders games to be able to re-enjoy the franchise. Most videos were not the best production wise and the creators' personalities weren't my favorite. But this video was insanely well made. I was engaged for the whole 2 hours. Thank you very much for taking the time to make this. I'm happy to have been able to re-experience Skylanders again, and experience the titles that I have not played before.
I was a pre-teen when the first skylanders game came out, I played it with my brother and we have a lot of fond memories of the series, we even played with the figures creating stories. This was a nice look back and made me smile remembering the hours of gameplay. However, Superchargers was our last game, which honestly I’m kinda disappointed about. I would have Loved the character creation aspects of Imaginators and would have loved to try that thing where you could get it 3D printed. But oh well, I’ll still remember the games fondly and we still have all the figures we got along the way. We played almost all of them on the Wii so we never noticed the graphics, but we also had glitches with Trap Team, though I can only remember 1 clearly. During Chef Pepperjack’s challenge to get the colour variant (something about cheese) we were almost done and it froze, making a loud continuous buzzing noise. A bit disappointing but not too bad, we just reloaded and restarted the level, only for the same bug to occur on our second reload, so we never ended up beating it. But still overall, really fond memories of the series and I kind of wish the market hadn’t become so oversaturated.
Loved hearing about all your fun memories! Sorry you encountered that annoying bug, Trap Team was a bit rough 😩 Glad you enjoyed the video! Means a lot to me 😁👍
It wouldnt be an understatement to say that skylanders raised me, i remember seeing my first lets play of spyros adventure and how the toys were made in a factory, my mind was blown at the time and i kept on begging my parents to get the game, and when my uncle finally brought me skylanders giants, i never forgot my excitement, i played that game day and night and completed it in the same week. I Ended up following the series until trap team for the 360. Now i can look at my shelf and see all of the memories encased in little figures. I'm sad to see this series go and that children of future generations wont be able to feel the way i did.
Bro the effort you put in this 🔥 Also, I’m glad I found this literally when I started having nostalgia thoughts about this franchise. You did a magnificent work buddy. Keep it up! 👍🏻👏🏻
This gave me the biggest nostalgia trip I’ve ever had, seriously loved all the games and I’m still waiting for another installment even though there are very little chances of another installment
Skylanders Spyro's Adventure was actually also released for PC. I'm actually playing it using a backup ISO, with my Swap Force wired portal and a bunch of Series 3 figures, because I don't feel like setting up my PS3 and getting batteries for the wireless portal. The other games in the series that I like are already on PS4 so hooking up my PS3 for Spyro's Adventure seems a bit pointless.
I’ve only played trap teams but holy shit the nostalgia. I’m sad, sky landers is dead but it was an amazing era and I didn’t realize it until it was over. Rest In Peace sky landers. We will try to always remember you, you made my childhood great
Would be interesting to see this series attempt a new entry now that the toys- to- life era has ended. I always thought it has some unique character designs.
I think it would be cool if they implement the figurines but in the game they were redesigned for a more mature audience since we have all aged into young adults and adults since the games released. Like if you could use the portals still or the giants and play as them (keeping the toys for life) then add better graphics, plot, and villians. I think the game could come back too. I just hope if this does happen they don't release now figures for there are already enough
I'll always love skylanders. I had almost every skylander up till trap team, still remember going from store to store looking for wham shell but finally finding him was an experience. I'll never forget how sad I was to not see any announcements for the next skylanders game, still hope they bring it back someday.
Sometimes I'm surprised at how dark and mature the backstory of some characters could be. Like Ignitor, a proud and brave knight tasked to slay a dragon he had no chances of ever defeating who asked a witch (some people theorize that the witch is Hex) to make him an armor that could protect him from the dragon's fire. But instead, the witch tricked him and the armor had the opposite effect of instantly igniting his entire body and binding his soul to the armor forever. Like... That's a level of tragedy we'd expect from a fucking Dark souls Character right here.
With the holiday season nearing us, I decided to treat myself with some nostalgia by buying some of the figures! And then seeing this video just made my whole day, watched it while extremely happy. I haven't gotten imaginators yet, but superchargers is my go to and I can't wait to start playing it again. Great video, my guy!!
I legit have my (admittedly small) set of Skylanders figures within 10 feet of me most of the time. Legit some of the weirdest, funkiest and most beautiful stories I've seen out of any game, at least in terms of character lore.
I have no idea how kids or parents kept up with any of this after the first couple of games. Props to you for doing all that research, I had no idea there were so many sequels!
This was such a fantastic walk down memory lane. I'm a die hard fan who loves all the creative characters over the story. Swap Force in my opinion was its peak, it had a lot to do and the graphics were amazing. I also agree that Imaginators was the weakest one. Not just for the story but how much you can do in it but length and missed opportunities. Story felt too short for me and the fact that old skylanders where weak in this game was such a middle finger to fans. Also as some one who owns 25 creation crystals I feel they could of done more with powers but the creation part was the strongest aspect of the game. My first creation was a Water/Knight. He was a frost velociraptor who I named Slasher. Although years later I regret not naming him Frost Bite lol. Over all this is a series that will always be in my heart till I die. I'm trying to make a story currently and some of the side characters are actually based on Skylanders. Specifically ones that were my favorites or had interesting concepts.
Playing this series was one of the few ways me and my dad bonded when I was a child. He even enjoyed the game more than me when it came to finding all the collectibles and buying all the character upgrades. Now I’m about to move away for college and I’m starting to realize how dead my childhood is and how these innocent times have long come to an end. Growing up sucks.
Skylanders was literally my childhood. That game was what I grew up on. I played every game got a load of skylanders, and dumped a lot of hours playing it. I played it on the Xbox 360, then the PlayStation 4 when I finally got that. I loved the games, and remember them fondly as one of the best times of my early childhood
This game was a huge majority of my childhood, I had every version up to imaginators and currently have like a total of 87 sky landers just sitting in a green tub in my closet, oh the nostalgia
After watching the whole video, it opened my eyes to stuff I never knew before when I was younger. It makes me sad that a few years ago I sold all my skylanders and games. I missed playing them so much and I wish I could get my hands on some again. Luckily for me, my friends gave me some of theirs from a collection. Even though I can't use them, they look damn good on my shelf!
My literal childhood, I remember playing this with my cousin, friends, and my little brother 24/7. You deserve like a million subscribers, this video is so high quality!
I remember visiting my family in germany a few years ago and was dumbfounded when i saw skylanders figures selling for 1-2 euro a piece, 3 packs being 2.5 euro, to bad I gave my cousin the game and my 360 at the time cuz I would have bought all of them and replayed swap force for old times sakes and when I realise its been almost 9 years since I first played one of these games, what a time to be alive.
Great shoutout to Skylanders Characters List! They have probably the best source for looking up Skylanders and comparing prices, and they have pretty good sales on figures regularly. I rebuilt my current collection from scratch recently and they were super helpful.
my dad worked on all of the skylanders and was even lead designer for some of them except the very last one so skylanders was really a massive part of my childhood and seeing someone actually remember the game but making a 2 hour about it just warms my heart and really made my day so thanks man :)
Makes me really happy to have a pretty much complete collection, except reposes, and variants, I have all of the original characters, minis, cosmetic items, & the vehicles, I might get the reposes and lightcore overtime, but I'm not worried about the variants as they are just diff colors of the reg color, whereas the reposes atleast have something new to them
@@Mikeinoid I'm gonna try and go for all lightcores and reposes, as for variants, those I would get based on if I like the color palette more than anything, not worried to much about em! I can get most of the reposes I'm missing for probably 1-3$each on skylander Matt's website
@@Mikeinoid 2 years later, I collected all the reposes and lightcores! I consider my collection complete! anything else is bonus, all I really want right now is a Eon's elite Ghost Roaster
I'd probably still be playing if they had found a way to make it so when an old character got updated for a new game the old figures still got the new abilities that the new version had. I would have loved to take my man Bash through all the games. I love the whole idea of being able to just bring your figures over to your friend's house when you wanted to team up with them. It gave the figures so much personality and emotional investment.
This used to be my first ever video game aside from Minecraft pocket edition on my moms phone, I feel so nostalgic watching all of this. I remember playing it on the Wii and being obsessed with them! I still have a giant box full of em‘.
I will never let go of this game, I love it. It’s the same amount of nostalgia as avatar the last airbender, I cry seeing both of them cause of how much the nostalgia hits
Skylanders out of all the toys to life games was the most unique. I mean all the other ones had house hold names like batman, jack sparrow, and many others. But Skylanders had all kinds of unique and original characters with there own movesets and personality quirks.
Ahh yes, Skylanders! I remember having most of the characters, and had all the games (except the racing one. I DO hope that Toys For Bob, or some other company will make a brand new Skylanders game! #Skylanders Forever!
1:29:23 fun fact....the wii version is the reason my parents bought me a wii u, i had every game.on wii up untill then and my mom even pre ordered the wii version of super chargers....but in store when i heard it wasnt the full game i LITTERALY starter cryinh and thus, my mom started looking into getting a wii u
Skylanders is definitely one of those game I will always love because it was a huge part of my childhood. I can distinctly remember going to a Game Stop when Giants was still the latest version, and struggling to decide if I wanted a 3DS game or the color variant Jini they had. I ended up getting the Jini and I don't regret that decision. Also ended up collecting every single giant figure because as a kid I just found them to be insanely cool.
Wow nostalgia just hit me hard. I remember when I first got this game years ago on the 3ds. Then I got giant, swap force, trap team, superchargers and imaginators. Spyro’s adventure, swap force and trap team are my favorites.
Man. This franchise lived a long, healthy life. Sad to see it go. As well as the rest of the Toys To Life genre. But, happy to know I at least experienced it.
I own like 80 Skylanders, and I have played Swap Force, Trap Team, Superchargers (Wii version) and Imaginators I played them all on the Wii exept for Imaginators on the switch, I don't know wtf happened to you Wii but that's not how the games looked on mine, That Swap Force gameplay was extremely nostalgic (I think it's also one of the best games in the series) I loved the at the time new dark and light elements with Knight Light being my most powerful and one of my favourite Skylanders also I'm my multiple playthroughs of trap team, the only glitch I remember is a single enemy not spawning that I needed to kill, so I reset the level _this happened only twice_ You can reset creation crystals in the switch version, just go to change Skylanders find the imaginator and press the reset button
@@Irish_Enderman Then you probably didn't save them to the crystals. The only games that can do a complete reset are the 3DS games and Giants on the Wii
Fun fact about wham shell, he never actually was released almost half a year after spyros adventure came out, and this was when giants was announced, he was included with this sky landers giants case that you can put your sky landers in, I got him back at Toys R Us when I was 8 and finally seeing that you can get wham she’ll was awesome
This video hit me with Nostalgia. I played Spyros Adventure, Giants and Trap Team, all in Multiplayer. Favorite Skylander was Enigma because invisibility. I also remember Tree Rex being really op. Some memorable moments were the pvp mode from giants, the challenging difficulty of the first game, the air villains chapter in Trap Team crashing so many times we never returned again. Thank you for bringing back the memories of my childhood and the amount of money our parents spent on the franchise.
I remember this game franchise very well, I never played past giants though because I played the 3ds version, which apparently are completely different experiences then it's console counter part. Dark Spyro who was exclusive to the 3ds one is the one I mained all the time. His electric attacks also worked while jumping mid air. (Very broken move considering once you get it you can just spam it over and over) Also I heard that the console versions you couldn't freely jump? You had to be at like a jump panel to do it?
1:12:29 thanks man, sunburn was and to this day, is my favorite skylander, and it made me upset when he was THE ONLY OG skylander to not get another figure, so thanks man
i remember the exact feel of the skylander toys, the resin like material on water towers, the grooves on dark towers and the gears on tech towers. I vividly remember the feeling of holding these for some reason.
This game expanded an entire generation for my family, and I loved it as a kid, I always got the games, didn't get everything but got a bit much, I still got an entire bucket load of Skylanders at my Grandma's and I still remember the franchise from time to time. I was real sad when it ended but it got me out of my comfort zone and made me play some more games that Skylanders just wouldn't made me do if it didn't stop (just kidding, games are games). Story time, when I was little, my brothers go Spyro's Adventure. They were super stoked about it and when they got Giants, I got in the action as well, Eye Brawl is still one of my favourite Skylanders to this date and I've never grown out of him. I may be 12 and not have a good memory, but my long-term memory is astounding, and this franchise and informed me of so much, like math, good strategy, realising I'm probably gonna be poor in the future, but after my brother's fallout on the games, I continued it until the end, Swap Force (which was the last game they played, I don't blame them.), Trap Team, Superchargers, and Imaginators. I gotta say, Looking back now, I think Swap Force is the best by an unbiased opinion, this game fell into that timezone where it's graphics will be hard to outdate and it's still so fun, I remembered we got a Swap Force Skylander (Boom Jet) and when I got into the car, I opened it in excitement...and it broke the bottom half, the most useful bit, I cried for a solid 30 minutes, and my parents understood, It was rare for me to get a skylander and when it broke, they felt bad because they wasted money and wanted me to be happy, luckily the top half was still usable, so it wasn't a complete loss there; but as you see, this game brought many memories, I still remember so many things my brothers and I loved, my favourite Trap Master was the Lobster one, and even one time, I looked at the skylander section for so long, I got lost at Big W, I had even a security guard with me until my parents found me. Again, I credit Skylanders for giving me a massive childhood, A SALUTE TO YOU, OUR FELLOW COMRADES, AS WE REMEMBER OUR FALLEN HEROES... -Guy who should probably make some money .-.
26:41 Disney Infinity was repetitive each figure came with their own world and levels and they all felt really similar and the Sand Box part of the game that let you create your own world felt really limiting.
In SSA my levels always took 3 try’s minimum; 1 to just play the level while getting anything on the way, a 2nd Togo out of my way to collect what I didn’t and go explore, and a 3rd to speed run it. Although, some ones like the ones with an enemy goal took more than 10 attempts at times…
Bro, this video is the best. Around November of 2021, I was starting to rediscover skylanders after years of being away from the series. And around that same time, I had to get rushed to the hospital for extreme dizziness (recently found out I have Virtigo) and while laying in the hospital bed waiting for a doctor, I found this video. And I got through the entire thing while I was there. This video made me feel a lot better, just knowing people were still talking about skylanders
Honestly, he's meant to be hateable at first but gets character development as you play. He fits the typical Patrick Warburton character archetype of "jock guy who's full of himself" that you typically get from him.
Unfortunately I had the Wii versions which especially in Swap Force showed the lacking power of the console that however was needed for the game. So I couldn’t really enjoy it, as it was far off from smooth and good looking. Especially when you compared it to the PS4 version. Nonetheless Skylanders is my childhood and I will alway cherish it :D
Ah, my childhood feels wasted. The characters feel like something out of World of Warcraft(despite Spyro's design in this series smh), and it's amazing. We got Kronk as a furry and Zim personified within *I'M GOING TO KILL CHAOS.* The Darkness in Superchargers became sexiness galore similar to Ansem, Xemnas, Vanitas and Young Xehanort from Kingdom Hearts. Man... The nostalgia's f*cking killing me softly! Btw for Swap Force, the name "evilizer crystals" sounds childish imo. A better title for them should be antagonite(evil mixed with ite, the name for minerals). First of all, Trap Team is basically Final Fantasy(no literally, why is it with franchises dedicated for children and crystals in a fantasy setting?), with the final boss Kaos to be exact gaining archangel wings, gem blades, and intercepting reality as a whole(One Winged Angel form am I right? XD), in Superchargers the actual final boss is the Darkness(which I nickname as Dark Daddy due to his sexiness)which pulled a Kid Icarus Uprising Hades on this mediocre game, and lastly in Imaginators, Kaos went full out Super Saiyan for all the weebs who bought the 6th game to create characters based on their favorite anime! Let's just say, I'm happy Spyro returned thanks to the Reignited Trilogy. The Crash Bandicoot expansion to Imaginators was incredible! If only it was a separate Crash game unfortunately...
I LOVE SKYLANDERS. I was so into them when I was young and have so many fond memories of the games especially giants and swap force. Even now as a college student I love them.
I’ve loved Skylanders since I was a little kid and I have many fond memories of it! My favorite Skylander is and has always been Whirlwind. One of my favorite chapters was the chapter in Swap Force where you get the Illuminator (I forgot the name and number) because it was the first time I saw Whirlwind have a presence in the world. I was so happy to see my favorite Skylander getting some recognition in the games! I loved swimming in the first game, especially with Zap the water dragon! I loved it so much that I would go to levels with ponds, lakes, rivers, and seas just so I could have Zap swim in them! I was really bummed when they stopped having the swimming mechanic in the later games, so much so that I would desperately look for any water that was even a few inches deep and put Zap there just so I could pretend he was swimming (I also did this with Echo in Trap Team). Call me weird if you want, but I just really liked seeing Zap swim! I haven’t played the games since middle school (I think) and I’m planning on playing them all again soon. I’m even considering doing a Let’s Play.
Thank you everyone for giving the video over 100 likes!!! Talking about the Skylanders series has been so much fun and I'm glad the gaming and Skylanders communities enjoyed my work! 🙌🥺
Yes sir! 👀👍
Hah. I got a game with 6 characters and a lightcore whamshell for $20 back then. I was a dumb kid that didn't know what it was worth.
Giants was my first
When i was a child,i thought spyro's adventure was a spinoff of giants,lmao
My personal favorite is giants, but trap team is good aswell.(swap force is my least favorite)
I don’t think I will ever forget this series, and it makes me sad that a lot of kids now don’t get to grow up with the series
Yeah I was lucky
i mean the entire series was a cash grab and they stole Spyro from us spyro fans, i for one am glad the franchise is dead.
I still have my wii-u, and I wont sell my Giants and others for 30 bucks together
@@tumage8592 i still have my wii and will not sell it along with my trap team and giant characters.

I couldn't agree more! Those memories this franchise made are precious!!
Ohhh man i couldn’t agree fricken more thanks for the further explanation

That's pretty cool!
Technically yes and no. The portal network was shut down, so your portal was connected to the new one

My pleasure! Lego Dimensions was pretty cool!
That game was the bomb in 2015

Umm…I’m pretty sure lego dimensions was a completionist’s worst nightmare.
I've never been hit by such a huge tidal wave of nostalgia. I recognized every figure and had most if not all of them. Hotdog was my main
Nice! Hot Dog was fantastic!
Yo mine was light core Pop Fizz I absolutely loved this game back then
Of all the Skylander games, Trap Team will forever hold a special place in my heart!

Awesome! Don't ever sell them 😂
same ... I kinda do wanna see how much they r worth now lol
I have a good number of them still, I too will never be rid of them

That really takes me back
Those commercials were awesome 😭
What I got from this was that having started with Giants then playing Swapforce and missing out until Imaginators, I got to experience the best of the franchise. Its a real shame they didn't space a year between each release to give longevity to the games, if anything they would have gotten more money.
I agree!
Why do you have the same skylanders story as me haha
You don't know how much this means to me when even in 2021 Skylanders is still going strong.

I was never more excited for a series than i was for Swap Force. Me and my friend were absolutely obsessed with Slylanders and would hang out daily to play the games, talk about how certain things could be improved and we would even design our own figures at times. Now I’m 20 and studying game art and design haha, some things never change
Never owned the game myself, I had a nephew who I'd play with on his 360. Pretty fun game thank you for reminding me of it's existence 😁
You're welcome 😁
The one of the played was the phone version
Glad you enjoyed the video! 😁
I literally own every single skylander of the first 4 games... I used to be totally addicted to the games. This video inspired me to invite an old friend to play a Skylanders marathon.
Nice 👌
Man, a Skylanders marathon actually sounds like fun, I stopped playing after I got the dark edition for Skylander's Superchargers Racing. I'm still kinda mad, a family member got it for me for my birthday and was excited to play Bowser in the real game, and then it was racing, worst part is it was like $100 USD
Spyro's Adventure and Giants were such a blast. I look back at those games with an insane amount of nostalgia and appreciation
Glad you've been getting back into Skype and enjoying the video! Means a lot to me 🤣
Personally, I loved Trap Team simply for its incredible amount of content involving the traps and the vast exploration in every level.
Bro the effort you put in this 🔥
Also, I’m glad I found this literally when I started having nostalgia thoughts about this franchise. You did a magnificent work buddy. Keep it up! 👍🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had crazy nostalgia waves making this video 😂
such an amazing game to play as a kid. I would literally slam the skylander on the portal like it was a movie scene. nostalgic
I grew up on Skylanders giants and trap team, they shaped my gaming side and helped me through tough times
I'll always love this game
34:36 let’s be honest, Kaos had that made to make his parents seem exactly like him, which they werent
That's a good theory lol
I remember swap-force being the coolest thing ever when I was 8.
This was the series that got me into gaming.
Man, This is giving me so much nostalgia. Its sad that the skylanders series has ended.
This gave me the biggest nostalgia trip I’ve ever had, seriously loved all the games and I’m still waiting for another installment even though there are very little chances of another installment
A new game would go crazy!!!
We will try to always remember you, you made my childhood great
I hope you try the other games! They're really good as well!
@@Mikeinoid I completely forgot but I did play sky landers imaginators and it was fun but in my opinion trap team was funner
Would be interesting to see this series attempt a new entry now that the toys- to- life era has ended.
I always thought it has some unique character designs.
I agree!
I just hope if this does happen they don't release now figures for there are already enough
well it would be better if you get the skins included with the game though you can still use your old ones.
Honestly!
Thanks! Don't spend too much money 🤣
I legit have my (admittedly small) set of Skylanders figures within 10 feet of me most of the time. Legit some of the weirdest, funkiest and most beautiful stories I've seen out of any game, at least in terms of character lore.
I'm sooo happy swap force is your favorite skylander game! Its mine as well, I feel it really took the skylander franchise to another level!
I'm glad someone else likes Swap Force too! The Toys for Bob fans are too hard on this game 😭

I have no idea how kids or parents kept up with any of this after the first couple of games. Props to you for doing all that research, I had no idea there were so many sequels!
Thank you bro, I didn't need to do too much research since I followed the series. But I'm still learning new stuff about it even today
Imagine being literally blasted out of your dimension and being sold as a plastic figurine, man the 2010s where WILD 😭
I can not put into words how much I appreciate this video, Skylanders was my childhood and I was devastated when I found out the game was discontinued
This game was a huge majority of my childhood, I had every version up to imaginators and currently have like a total of 87 sky landers just sitting in a green tub in my closet, oh the nostalgia
I recently booted up Skylanders Giants for my Wii and I still got that same feeling putting them on the portal. I miss those days.

I missed playing them so much and I wish I could get my hands on some again. Luckily for me, my friends gave me some of theirs from a collection. Even though I can't use them, they look damn good on my shelf!

Nothing in this video gave me a bigger nostalgia wave than hearing the music at 27:05. I didn't even know I remembered that.

I own like 80 Skylanders, and I have played Swap Force, Trap Team, Superchargers (Wii version) and Imaginators
I played them all on the Wii exept for Imaginators on the switch, I don't know wtf happened to you Wii but that's not how the games looked on mine,
That Swap Force gameplay was extremely nostalgic (I think it's also one of the best games in the series) I loved the at the time new dark and light elements with Knight Light being my most powerful and one of my favourite Skylanders also I'm my multiple playthroughs of trap team, the only glitch I remember is a single enemy not spawning that I needed to kill, so I reset the level _this happened only twice_
You can reset creation crystals in the switch version, just go to change Skylanders find the imaginator and press the reset button
Pretty cool collection. The Switch version doesn't reset the actual crystals however.
@@Mikeinoid I've fully reset multiple crystals and changed the battle class

I'm glad you liked the video! 😁
Weird, when I play trap team I usually never encounter a bug, and I play that a lot since it is my favorite one
I didn't encounter any bugs in my first play through either so I know what you mean! But bugs still show up some times 😭
Yea I did too like my game just crashed every time I got up to fight knights battle leading to pain yatta and dream catcher
Only bug I ever encountered was how the dark element dragon's warp ability could sometimes make the game crash
for superchargers the traps can be used for changing your vehicle's weapon for a limited amount of shots
That's true!
Exactly, the 3DS versions allowed Skylanders to double jump
Oooooooh boy this was a helluva trip down memory lane and how dare you make me wanna buy all the games and figures now
Loo my bad 😄

i remember the exact feel of the skylander toys, the resin like material on water towers, the grooves on dark towers and the gears on tech towers.
1:32:30, i have never laughed so hard in my life

26:41 Disney Infinity was repetitive each figure came with their own world and levels and they all felt really similar and the Sand Box part of the game that let you create your own world felt really limiting.

@@Mikeinoid yeah. Because of the swappers they made a portal that can scan them. Which means the older ones dont work
In SSA my levels always took 3 try’s minimum; 1 to just play the level while getting anything on the way, a 2nd Togo out of my way to collect what I didn’t and go explore, and a 3rd to speed run it.
Glad you enjoyed the video!! 🙂
Who didn't hate flynn
I didn’t hate him, I really enjoyed him actually
Honestly, he's meant to be hateable at first but gets character development as you play.
He fits the typical Patrick Warburton character archetype of "jock guy who's full of himself" that you typically get from him.
Unfortunately I had the Wii versions which especially in Swap Force showed the lacking power of the console that however was needed for the game. So I couldn’t really enjoy it, as it was far off from smooth and good looking. Especially when you compared it to the PS4 version. Nonetheless Skylanders is my childhood and I will alway cherish it :D
Yeah I stay from the Wii version like the plague! Skylanders was absolutely amazing!
