    Thanks for being consumer centric and not a producer centric. Most of those just want you to buy their products and throw away once used. Looking forward to buy your company product. Hope I could manage to get it in Indian markets.

    Used one of these on my highly modified 2005 FatBoy and highly recommend it. It removes the tiniest particles of crap and that magnet is STRONG!! Oil pressure drop across this filter is practically Zero. Sold FatBoy and bought new Indian Springfield. One of these filters is going on the Indian as soon as filter arrives.

      Hi Hammered01, We're glad to hear you are a K&P supporter. We wanted to check to see if you got the filter on your New Indian Springfield? if so how are you liking the filter so far? If not please contact us (720)238-1181 or use the dealer locator on our website kandpengineering.com/ to find a dealer that carries the S1 used on your Indian.

    I bought two already from ECS Tuning in case I don't have the time to clean and let them dry in time for my oil change. Happens sometimes on the run.

    Not all filter models have magnetic prefiltering. Model 38 for the n54 engine has no such magnetic pre-filter.

    • @kandpengineering
      @kandpengineering  5 років тому +1

      Matreyia, you are correct that not all K&P filter models have the magnet for pre-filtration, only the spin-on style filters have the magnet.
      We do not have the magnet in the Internal filters cause a lot of the time there is little room for the magnet, as well as trying to accommodate the stock oil filter cap and the stock bypass without interfering to make sure we have the same clearances.
      We highly recommend Dimple Products magnetic drain plugs to complete the "filtering" package for our internal filters.

    • @kandpengineering
      @kandpengineering  2 роки тому +1

      We recommend anything that will help knock the debris off the outside of the filter element. In the video we used aerosol brake cleaner. Compressed air works well as does flushing the filter from the inside out with a strong stream of fluid.

    Do I need to clean this every time I change my oil for a Harley

    • @kpengineeringempl8602
      @kpengineeringempl8602 11 місяців тому

      We recommend cleaning the filter at least every time the OEM recommends you change the oil. The beauty of the filter is you can remove it, inspect and clean it any time you would like. This is especially convenient if you have had recent work done and want to check that there is not an abnormal amount of debris being collected by the filter which may indicate a situation that needs to be investigated further.

    Can I clean it in a dishwasher? Seems to work fine for my blackpowder gun parts. :)

    • @kandpengineering
      @kandpengineering  Рік тому +2

      The dishwasher won't hurt it, but leaving aluminum in hot water for more than 15 minutes can discolor the aluminum (it turns brown).
      I would target the flow of water from the inside of the element out as much as possible, as you are trying to knock the debris loose from the outside of the filter media.

    Do i need to change the gasket??

    • @kandpengineering
      @kandpengineering  Рік тому

      The gasket can last up to 4-5 changes as long as it remains pliable and you are comfortable it will still seal. We prefer to change the gasket either with every oil change, or after the gasket has been used once on each side.

      @kandpengineering  6 років тому

      Hi Trevor the quad rings can be reused anywhere from two oil changes up to a half dozen or more depending on how good they look as Hammered01 stated! If you see any wear you can always flip them over as well. When you need some replacement's give us a call (720)238-1181 or use the dealer locator on our website kandpengineering.com/ to find a dealer that carries the quad ring needed for your application.

    Beautiful filter but doesnt clean oil. There is no way a full flow filter can clean oil. That takes a bypass filter such as Frantz Gulf Coast Australian Jackmaster and a few others. The Wix on my Pontiac Torrent has 62.000 miles and over 4 years on it. The bypass filter keeps the oil and Wix clean.

      It is a ball bearing in the end of filter

    • @kandpengineering
      @kandpengineering  6 років тому +2

      Jeff,
      You are correct it is a ball bearing, it's a bypass relief valve that allows oil to the engine if case the filter were to get clogged. Your engine would still be able to get oil through the relief valve, With our filters media flowing 7 times the amount of oil as the same sized paper filter it avoids unfiltered oil bypassing the filter during cold startup and high rpm.
      Please read our Primer on Filtration for additional info: (kandpengineering.com/primer-on-filtration/)

      Hi Jason,
      Cleaning the filters only takes a few minutes & the added perk is you get to see whats going on inside your engine as you clean the filter, plus your getting 7 times the oil flow as the same sized paper filter, faster oil pressure on startup, reduction of oil pump drag (resulting in horsepower & mpg gain), prevention of bypass operation, as well the aluminum housing & high flow rate dissipates heat.
      So if you think about it, taking a few extra minutes to clean the filter will help the longevity of your engine. With all this being said the filter isn't for everyone. If you have any question's please contact us directly @ (720)238-1181 M-F 9-5 MST
