I messaged this Depop seller and let them know about the missing items + only getting tops and they took full responsibility for the mishap and are sending a 2nd bundle to complete my order!! So, part 2 will be coming soon!
Yay
So was it an accident?
yay!!
@@medicspirit seems like it
@@medicspirit I think so because when I messaged them they didn’t correct me or say it was on purpose. They apologized and offered to send a second bundle 🤷🏻♀️✨
she's such a wholesome soul omg
Ahhh thanks so much! 🥰🥰🥰 hope you’re doing well!✨
@@twinelle ofc girl !! u too mwah
Wow. Started off really strong and then... got worse and worse. 😅 The colour block jumper should've been in an 80s box! And the last jumper was completely basic! I wonder if you were meant to get 2 boxes and only one arrived... ? Very weird!
Right! Super happy with that Ed Hardy top!! Ooo I really hope they aren't doing two different shipments because that's A LOT of money being spent of their end with such heavy weight! 😬
I absolutely love the color block top tho lol
Girl, I saw ten to fifteen pieces on the description and then heard you say the package was close to two pounds and got suspicious really quick lol! Hopefully the second box has more hits than misses!
Riiiiight!!! I was giving them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they were light weight tops and skirts but ayeeeee 😬😬😬
Omg thank u for talking about cultural appropriation in fashion, it's often not paid attention to and as an Asian American who sees the same type of clothes sexualized that they used to be made fun of for
@@OffLimits4Good it depends on where it's from and if the garment was changed, I know that Japanese people typically love people wearing kimonos but I'm not sure about cheongsams which is usually the piece that is appropriated in Western culture. This also goes along with the dragon image on clothing.just before you buy or make something do research on what you wanted to wear and see if you can but if you can't please do not wear the garment as that is appropriation.
@@OffLimits4Good well not dragons in general, there is a very popular design either called a Chinese , Japanese or Asian dragon. A European example would be calling a pleated skirt a kilt even though it's not, or taking a sarafan, cutting it short and sexualizing it, or being someone who isn't European , knows nothing of the culture and doesn't live there profiting of off European culture
@@OffLimits4Good Cultural appropriation isn't a way to lock people into their boxes as we've seen celebrities and people in public eyes able to show appreciation for a culture. An example of this is going to an Indian wedding and wearing a sari or their specific dress to show appreciation for the people's culture. Then there is appropriation, not just with the cheongsam, but also with certain black hairstyles or Native American headdresses. You'll see some celebrities wearing those but don't truly understand or appreciate the culture behind them. I, like the original commenter, am particular about the cheongsams as that is my culture and while they are both formal AND casual dresses, they tend to be oversexualized and worn in a particular way that isn't really respectful to the culture. So it isn't really "locking people in", it's more of letting them know "hey, this isn't an accurate/respectful way of depicting a culture" especially when there are definitely other ways to show appreciation
@@OffLimits4Good People can definitely like things for how they look but I do feel like there's a specific line to cross when it comes to being too much. I used to go to a super diverse school and would see how cool some of my black friends' hair looked after they just got it done and even helped my friend choose what style to get. They look gorgeous but at the same time, those hairstyles aren't meant for me and my specific hair anyways as the hairstyles they get are suited for their hair type (mine would literally break if I got them). I also think if someone were to delve into those styles, without having prior knowledge, they would soon know where the origins are from when trying to achieve said hairstyle or clothing item. Like cheongsam's tend to be described as "oriental dress", which clues in a buyer as to where the origins are. And as I said before, it's great that people are opening up to learning about more cultures and it helps with cultural exchange and all that. But I think there is a difference between being in a country where it's monoethnic (like China or Mexico) vs. somewhere that's quite diverse (like the United States). People from the United States, especially if they didn't go to schools where there were others of the same ethnicity, are given this sense of assimilation. Like being told in order to really fit in and do well, we have to go by the standard that is placed in America. This means wearing the regular clothing that most Americans wear (which differs by age groups ofc). Cultural wear tends to be seen as out of the norm/different/weird and our foods can be too. I remember one time I was eating dumplings on a train and this lady told me to put them away because they smelled bad. The next day, same train, same lady, but I was eating a bread bun with no scent and the lady still covered her nose in an exaggerated manner. These experiences that many POC (I'm not saying all but many) are what drives us to react differently when we see the same people who drove us away from our own cultures do the same thing they used to look down upon. This may be a reason why those in monoethnic countries perceive this differently than those in diverse countries.
@@OffLimits4Good If I had the proper hair AND was part of the culture, I definitely would. There was another girl in my school who was white and had some of the curliest hair I had ever seen. She used black hair products (because they were good for her hair) but she never went to get braids or any of those protective hairstyles because she knows that it isn't part of her culture. And I've left the community where I was judged for wearing my cultural clothing, but I can also say for sure that they are the same people showing surface level "interest" at the moment due to the growing popularity of my culture through social media and other sources. And that would be nice, to be able to be in a place where people are able to dress in their own cultural clothing and it definitely would lower the edge of judgment but the reality is that we live in this society where there is a certain professional "look" that must be had in order to fit. This includes wearing the typical business attire (suits, dress skirts, "neat hair", and other aspects). I don't think I'd be able to walk into the workplace wearing a cheongsam, even if that same garment would be seen as professional in China. The lady on the train was actually pretty young, which made it worse. Not sure what her intentions were but at the same time, there's little chance she's never ordered Chinese food and was able to enjoy it at home but she still looked at me in disgust when I decided to enjoy it on the train. And I do dress how I want, as I live in a more urban environment but at the same time, if I do walk out in a cheongsam, there's a chance of being attacked for that (there's been a rise of hate crimes on Asians since the pandemic began). Then there are other people who are able to wear it casually without having to risk that same fear that I carry. And the people who call out against cultural appropriation carry that experience of judgment and are the same people who are upset when they see others appropriate it and be praised for it while they themselves are looked down upon it for that. Then, there's also the fact that European fashions are what was/is held as the standards of fashion (think of where many of the large designers are and who they are). The dresses of the 19th century and then the fashions found in Hollywood of the mid to late 90s were from Europe. Other culture's clothing was not considered "fashionable" until those same designers incorporated it into their fashion lines. It may not be upsetting to you to see someone wear a beret since it is has been held as wide stream fashion but I, amongst others, will still be upset when seeing someone disrespectfully wearing Chinese clothing.
As someone that was a teen in the early 2000’s, juicy was sooo cool, and I couldn’t afford them so I had knockoff velour tracksuits. Baggy sweatshirts weren’t in, color blocking wasn’t really either, that’s more 80’s.
Ahhh yeah that makes sense! I first learned of velour tracksuits from Old Navy 😂 but that colorblock sweatshirt is defs vintage 80s cause it’s super similar to what I received in my recent vintage haul!
Honestly that black floral top looked so good on you! I get why you try to stay away but if you’re being respectful then I think rock it! Xxxx
Thanks!! 🥰But, I’m Latina so I just don’t feel comfortable flaunting it as everyday wear 😬✨
@@twinelle yeah I understand! As long as you feel comfortable in what you wear you’ll always look fab x
Twinelle I think we all have different levels of comfort with this. Im Asian American and uh.... YOU LOOK AMAZING I'd love for you to wear that and would feel totally ok with you rocking it but I get you
@@beckychon1642 i'm asian too and i agree! i also understand her being uncomfortable though
@@beckychon1642 I feel you want her to wear it because the conversation of cultural appropriation is heavy and want to tone it down by saying you’re okay with it. But in reality you’re not even allowing yourself the chance to be uncomfortable with it. But its your life and mind so.
I think the seller thought that when she discounted the price it meant that there was gonna be less clothing pieces for the person who purchases. That’s just how I read it.
I think they could have been a little bit more informative but there was some really cute pieces in there that you can always resell for profit
Heyyyy! I was thinking that too but I was messaging the seller before and after purchasing and it never came up. I think they discounted because they were getting promotion from another UA-cam but can’t be too sure but yeah agree wish there was a lil bit more clarification before purchasing!😬✨
I always have trouble with mystery boxes cuz when I’m specific in what I want I almost never get what I’m happy with. So then I started to get rlly vague and just say my size, my preferred lengths and colors, and then they still give me things that are those lengths and colors!! How many times to I have to tell someone that I don’t want any low rise or any plain neutrals!!!
Hahahaha I feel that!!! For most that I’ve gotten they always have a super length questionnaire but never seem to consider it LOL 😂 but I’m usually opened minded to any pieces as long as they aren’t too basic ya know!😅
Ahh the title scares me
😬😬😂✨
Wow that is crazy you could spend sixty dollars at the thrift store and bring more clothes.🤪🤪
Oooof yeah and totally Salvation Army had their $2 sale so I walked out with a handful of gems!!!🤩🤩🤩
@@twinelle Ooh yes I went to the Salvation Army sale too and got soo much good stuff hehehe
@@betee2555 Lucky girl
@@nellygephart6901😁😁😁
Oh boy I feel like this bundle was a bit disappointing. That’s the risk with mystery bundles is that you are putting trust in the seller to pick nice clothes based on your likes but damn they fell short! I feel like every one of those pieces was not worth the amount you paid. And it was a lil basic BUT thank you for still supporting small businesses!
Danielle you should do a vid of your fave Depop stores ❤️😁
Ooooo I LOVE this idea!!! I’ll start gathering up a list soon!😃✨
One word to describe this bundle. Meh. That sucks that you didn't get what you paid for. False advertising is the worst
It coulda just been an honest mistake BUT they’re sending another to make up for it! So it’s all good!😃✨
Stop wasting your money on mystery boxes. Stick to your Thrifting because you always find the most awesome pieces especially at the dollar sale the other day.
Hahaha it’s definitely made a dent in my bank account but I think now I’m only gonna buy recommended bundles from viewers who comment depop shop names! Plus I LOVE surprises so mystery bundles are super exciting to unbox and film. But, yesss definitely gonna continue with my own thrift hauls!😃✨
Were you ever sent the second box? 😁😁
I never did😅 but it’s all good! Would rather ppl see this video first before dropping money!
that’s disappointing u didn’t get everything but everything u got suits u so well 🥺
Thanks so much!!!❤️I feel like a lil bit of styling and the right accessories always makes a fit!!!
lol low low key to leave it to a boy to miscount so badly 😓Hopefully the second box will have some gems though!
😬😬😬
Damn so many people been having bad experiences on depop it makes me sad these shops get free advertisements and they aren’t bringing the good good 🔥🔥🔥
I just got back from the thrift store after being inspired by ur vids then I come back and you have a new video ^_^
Ooo YAAAAAAYYYY!!! Hope you came across some cute gems!🤩🤩🤩
Yikes not a good look for that seller. I am sure they will do better on the next box
I just appreciate that they’re trying to right their wrongs! Just makes me wonder if anyone else had similar issues 🤔🤔🤔
Ok but your hair looks so shiny and gorgeous in this video! Love the braid!
Ahhhh thanks!!! I saw a girl on tik tok with braids so I took some inspo!!😍✨
Yikes
😬😬😬
Wow! To say that a black top with some flowers on is cultural appropriation is the dumbest I have ever heard! So cause a flower grows in Asian you in America can’t wear it. You live in a multicultural society where we all should co exist. Cant you guys really not see that is type of behavior will divide us even more. I will not be coming back if this is the norm.
Yes the US is a melting pot of cultures but lots of certain clothing pieces and styles have history and tradition behind them so for someone outside of that culture to wear it as an everyday garment or to sexualize it is a NO for me. It’s not just the print but the collar that easily makes it apparent it has an Asian influence. I don’t feel comfortable wearing it so I won’t. This type of “behavior” isnt dividing but more about respecting one’s culture. This is absolutely the norm on my channel so byeeeee✌🏼✨
Damn girl, when you gonna get a break and get a really bomb box !!!!?
first!!! love from hong kong
Ahhhh thanks so much for being so early!!!! You’re so far away but so happy my vids reach you!!!🥰🥰✨
Hoping the 2nd box of it is awesome..
Saaaaame!!! 🤩🤩🤩
I actually liked the pieces so much!! I don't like recieving bottoms because it's harder for them to fit right. I think it depends on the person, but I get you!
Hey twinelle I’ve been trying to buy a jacket from you on Depop and you haven’t respond for five days now, would really love the jacket so I would appreciate the response 🙃💖
Heyyy girl!!! Yesss I remember! Could you send another DM? I get flooded with DMs daily on depop so it’s super easy to lose ongoing threads!😬✨
@@twinelle ok I will
@@chloejackson9196 or what’s your depop handle? I can search your username in my DMs!😃✨
Why not wear a gorgeous top if the original design may have been created by someone with a different ethnic background? That sounds racist. Shouldn’t we be able to admire the beauty from other cultures? “Asian” tops are just plain beautiful and not something you see everyday with American styling 🤷🏻♀️
I love your videos so much, I would looovvveeee to style you ✨ I love the 90’s aesthetic too! I don’t have a Depop though I have a Poshmark 😊 if you want to check it out and take a risk. 😂💕It’s Jacquelinevels ✨
I love your outfit in the intro!
Ahhh thanks girl!!! That shirt is one of my favs and I got it from the goodwill outlet!🤩🤩🤩
Do you know any depop that have street wear bundles?
Oooo I don’t sadly since I’m usually on the hunt for 90s/Y2K bundles but I hope viewers see your comment and drop a few shops!😃✨
Hi❣️ I offer style bundles on Depop (@ iamy3ssip) and I am open to any aesthetic/style
i love this video and i hope your 2nd bundle will be better and i really live your depop :)
Omg, I just noticed this. I love your pink Kit Cat clock in the background... This was a crappy box. They put the ok piece on top and the rest was just ugh.
let a canadian style you!
Hahahaha drop some depop shops! 🤩🤩🤩
what will you be doing with the items you think can be cultural appropriation? id be really interested on if you still put them in bundles, sell them or something else?
Heyyy! I give em away for free or sell for really cheap on my depop (usually $5). I’ve already found homes for the pieces in this bundle tho! ✨
I love that you mentioned cultural appropriation bevajse that’s what I thought of too
Goofy with the “appropriation”
There is a difference between appropriation and appreciation
I need that native sweater with those crazy shoulder pads!! Will you be posting it on Depop?
I can post it on depop for ya cause I won’t be putting it in a mystery bundle!!! 😃✨
@@twinelle yes please. Here’s my @sarai06286 so I can purchase
@@saraisanchez1288 I can just send it to ya since I still wanna make amends for the mystery bundle mix up! Is it the same address??? I can have it shipped out on Monday!😃✨
I really like the sweatshirt with the colorful triangles.
the 2 culture appropriation tops were a big no no
where is your cat clock from? i think i need it
Hey!! I got it from the website below! They come in super fun colors and prints!!

Am I the only one who liked everything in the box? 😅 everything looks sooooo GOOD on you!
Hahaha thanks girl!!! 🥰 But it’s just the pieces that are appropriating cultures and aren’t Y2K that kinda bummed me out 😬
Hola te felicito se ve tu pelo negro muy bonito
Sucks you didn't get everything, but everything you got is really prettyyy, and looks good on you
Did you ever get the second box?

Hi hiii! I have my own website! Twinelle.com✨

I loved the items but there shouldve been more !
Hey girl!! I want to send you some hand thrifted pieces!!
I love seeing what you get in these boxes. I have a depop shop. Is it tacky to ask you to check it out?
The juicy piece with the skirt looked so cute !!
Love your vibe
Hi Danielle !! 💗💗
Heyyyyy Allie!!!🥰😃✨
Culture appropriation it's not a thing. We're all free to wear or like anything we want . You're not tie to do wear or do things just becouse of the part of the world You borned in
Culture appropriation is DEFINITELY a thing! We are free to wear anything we want but we also have a choice to RESPECT another cultures clothing attire and not flaunt it as everyday wear because sometimes certain pieces are worn for specific events/rituals/occasions. So, as a means to not offend any culture as a Latina, I don’t wear Asian-inspired or Indian clothing, etc. Hope this clarifies things. Thanks!✨
@@twinelle i Guess You don't eat sushi or anything 😂 anyways i like your vídeo and I understar thoso Kinf of comment are neccesary to atract to your videos people becouse its the socially acepted
I’m not responding a specific way because I want to attract viewers but because it’s what I believe in. I definitely think eating cuisines differs from fashion because there’s the case of sexualizing, profiting off, and lack of representation of marginalized groups whose cultural styles have deeper meaning than just their appearance. And I actually don’t eat sushi because I don’t like fish ahahaha
Hey, don’t be a racist. Gonna leave it at that.
@@Agustina-md1kr eating food from other cultures that is most often than not cooked by and served in restaurants owned by people of that culture isn't the same as being insensitive and wearing clothing that is spiritually/religiously significant to a culture as just regular clothing by someone who is outside that culture. its really not that hard or confusing to understand. I'm latina and live in a predominantly white town; there are a lot of latino-owned mexican restaurants and the owners definitely do want others to come in and eat there
Omg the Juicy Top 🥺🥺🥺
I can’t wait for part 2.
I understand they advertised the wrong thing but we all know for a fucking fact you can make your money back from the juicy couture velour top on your shop LOL… seems like useless complaining to have the reseller send an ENTIRE extra box, just so you can profit off of someone else’s curation… not something I’d brag about 🫢
Nope I’d never price to sell items that aren’t accessible to all. My entire channel is about attaining cute ass clothes regardless of your income bracket. Most of the clothes in this bundle I either sold fairly, donated, or gave away to subs. I was pretty fair with my judging of this bundle and was expecting what I’ve seen from other unboxing vids and what was listed on their depop🤷🏻♀️
