TIME TO GIVE THE EWES A REST | WEANING EWES & LAMBS

Today we are going to be weaning the lambs off of the ewes. At 14-16 weeks of age we take the lambs from the ewes to enable the ewes to get a rest and it also helps lambs growth increase.

Hi Will. Ewes and lambs in great condition at weaning. Two questions. 1 were all lambs in the group 14-16 weeks old. 2 do you restrict ewes grass for a few days after weaning to reduce milk production and minimize the risk of mastitis.

Hi Padraic, all lambs were 14-16 weeks ☺️ I put them on some poorer grass but not reduced

Good video again. Sheep and lambs are in great condition. Do you feed any meal to lambs to push them on for slaughter ? Noticed a few with sore feet is that just scald?

We feed creep to the tup lambs to get the pushed on. Yeh had a bit of scald recently. Just trying to run them through the footbath the next couple of days
