Hammerhead was one of the first standalone software instruments on pc before VST/DX. Nice to see a reissue from 1997! The original version is still downloadable for free and is running in compatibility mode (Win98) under Win10. ☝
The thing that prevents me from making more use of audio kits apps is that i can’t figure out how to integrate them into GarageBand IOS as you did in 1:14 to 1:16. I just end up with samples (look like blue sine waves) and, since my playing lacks finesse, I find that the recordings are hard to integrate.
Great list. Totally agree, and if you find Hammerhead quite complex, the dev recommends just reducing some elements, it’s designed to be quite a ‘full’ percussive range, it seems. I have a tip, for Hammerhead. If you notice, Bismark Bs-16i has for example, one option where the entire keyboard, every single note, is just a tom-tom at that pitch. Make the Hammerhead rhythmiser create a MIDI track, with all that wonderful complexity, then just paste it into the BS-16i track, with that 100% tom-tom setting as the soundfont/patch. Now the whole percussive experience is like a ‘wave’ effect, and you can mix it with GB’s own drummer or drums to add more typical elements. Hello I don't know if you can help. Just purchased a late 2013 iMac but seller wiped HHD and put Catalina on. I now can't download Garageband!!!! If I wipe HHD and install Mojave will it have the app on it or can I download it as a relative has copied it from his mini Mac. Any help please as I might have wasted my money. Ta.
If you don’t mind me mentioning my theory which is holding so far on that occasional deletion of comments thing…Google/UA-cam must have a ‘score’ they give users, and the more negative the score, the less ‘tolerant’ the algorithm is of a particular user’s comments being negative. There is also definitely a human intervention going on from time to time. As to the things that get a user put in the ‘dog house’ for a few weeks, it’s likely quite sophisticated too. IMHO if you have attracted some ‘reports’ about your comments (I mean ‘you’ or ‘me’ or anybody) you may be in the doghouse more, and deeper?! I’ve had it, and it wears off it seems to me. I try to be as positive as possible online now anyway, it’s been pretty bad at times as we all know. Lastly, it is mostly a suite of algorithms I’d think, with occasional human nudges, so what that will perceive as ‘negative’ or a problem comment, not to be tolerated, could really be anybody’s guess. I don’t think it will get irony for example. Take care, it should improve if you don’t have a troll keep reporting you.
