When i found out the killing of Cecil the Lion it was extremely upsetting. Having been to a safari in South Africa several years ago…to see these beautiful wild animals should be on everyone's bucket list.
The worst part here is that Cecil's pride is now left with only one young male lion, and several females and cubs. Other male lions are going to move in and kill the cubs as a form of infanticide. This dentist didn't just killed one male lion but several cubs at the same time.
This video is in memorial to Cecil. We used the song Lui Vive In Te (He Lives in You) from our Aceto CD.

Cecil was a male African lion who primarily lived in the Hwange National Park in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. He was a major attraction at the park and was being studied and tracked by Oxford University as part of a larger study.
On 1 July 2015, he was shot and killed after Walter Palmer, an American recreational big-game hunter, had wounded him with an arrow two days earlier. The killing drew international media attention and sparked outrage among animal conservationists, politicians and celebrities, as well as a strong negative internet response against Palmer himself

It;s five years later, and this still upsets me -- especially the fact that he wasn't killed right away and walked around with the &$*&^ arrow in his body for more than a day. and now his majestic head hangs on that sob's wall like he's some great hunter -- this video is beautifully done -- I thought it was Ricky Martin singing -- the music is gorgeous. I am in Covid-19 isolation, which I firmly believe is the right move for our country (the US), and it just further impacts my feelings that Cecil should have roamed free until his natural death. Thank you so much for putting together this video. I'm 63 and about as technically challenged as a person can be -- I never thought about his pride and his cubs -- his manner of death and the way they just left his decapitated corps was about as far as I could go. He was a beloved lion, well known to the rangers. I read/heard somewhere that when they discovered his body -- and I think the arrow was still in it -- they fell to their knees and wept.

2 yrs on & I still ache when I see Cecil face, that big beautiful black maned he had. My blood boils with every beat of my heat thinking of what Walt Palmer has done. When you bring down the king, you bring down his family. It’s a ripple affect. I hope karma takes affect on Walt Palmer!!!!
It's now five years on, and I feel the exact same way. This is interesting about his black mane -- the mane only turns black around the time the females go into estres, and afterward it returns to that gorgeous honey color. I'm 63 now, and I know in my heart to feel such anger towards "the dentist" hurts no one but myself -- you can bet he got off on all of the attention, even if it was negative -- he's a scrawny sniffly insignificant man, and that is why he "hunts' big game -- some hunter, he couldn't even kill the lion who was standing still eating -- but when I think about what he did, it just makes my blood boil. Age doesn't just bring grey hair, but wisdom of sorts. And what's sad, also, is that he doesn't understand what he did, the tremendous loss, as you point out, the ripple effect -- I pray somehow his cubs survived ... be well, Patricia

Mr. Castaldo, your tribute to CECIL is beautiful and heart rendering. The cause of his death thankfully stirred global indignation at the Lion Hunting Industry. Some changes were made, but now the "cancer" of Breeding & Raising Lions for commercial hunts, And for selling their skins & bones to China, etc. The movie Blood Lions shows the greed & horror of such.

What is the thrill of lying in wait and suddenly appearing with a weapon and committing murder so you can hang its head on your wall? I don't get it? You hide and then appear and shoot a defenseless animal? Lay-by the pool you prick, someone should appear with an alligator and loose that on your ass, cameras loaded.
