My favorite footage of Brian’s drumming showed two or three smaller people in the front row (dancing gently) protected by a wall of big strong men locking arms, keeping the waves of the mosh pit at bay. Those few dancing in the front would have likely been knocked down if it wasn’t for the wall. Community at its most raw
I use a Canon Eos 70D and for this I used a 16-35mm f/2.8 II lense. I also shot a secondary set of audio that I mixed myself with a Zoom H2N under one of Brians Cymbals. No stabilization for this shoot.
His kit looks like the only thing holding it together is hated....where his Orange County set....or SJC....the ubiquitous Indy west coast drum set......
+Mr5kull5trobe surprisingly Chippendale is actually a completely sober individual. honestly makes sense, LB couldn't have been around for 20+ years if chippy had been using the entire time. He said in an interview once that sobriety is why he thinks LB has lasted so long.
i got to eat a fresh hit at lightning bolt lexington ky 2010. dan deacon played as well. and sick hour. and it was magic. strobe lights. its sick. i offered weed and shrooms to them in louisville 2011. just in case they needed it. lol. he said no thanks, hahaha

Don't get pushed into Brian's drumset, or you will become part of it, and he hits hard.
WestcoastWheelman I wouldn't mind as long as he made some amazing beats with my skull XD
Every Lighting Bolt show I’ve ever attended involves me making it to the front of the crowd and, at some point, picking up a crash or ride for him.
Opening a new world for the next wave of musicians
Absolutely, expression over repetition and relatability
Damn I remember this. I was right in front of the drums. So sad that venue closed. Great times!
Yeah that spot was awesome..i saw so many great acts there.. and for free..epic stuff

One of the best perfomance🥰
The sides want to absorb and record... the front wants to feel and react.

And they complained when drum solos got too long in hard rock. Seriously, this is intense shit - I wouldn't trust drugs in me near this
What camera do you use? If ya don't mind me asking!

Dude in the Swans shirt looks like the definition of a hipster lmao
the chick on the left, next to the photographer near this amps...are hot!!!
+teamsleepnine Maybe the only woman ever at one of their shows. Read interviews with Brian, he laments the fact that most shows are a sausagefest.
Lord Dunsany how is that a bad thing? Lol
Am I the only person here who really wants to take hallucinogens with Brian C?
Nope...he is a guy I want to listen to all day. I think he might be perpetually on psychotropics anyway.
