Fellow fish ponds lover, unite! I had 52 fish ponds going into 1.6 (on switch) with lava eel. When the update came to the switch it also brought with it the change that allows legendary fish in the ponds. Lucky me, I had 13 legend fish on hand... So I caught more, now I have around 30.
I fish up about 1 golden cracker a day on average. With 15 crackers, I make between 300k and 700k daily JUST by aged roe.
Easily going to make a million a day once I get all my ponds with legends, let alone when I get more golden crackers.
Easy S tier. So long you are one heck of an angler ;)

As somebody who loves blasting the skull cavern + plays on SVE hardmode, the big furnace and double gems are easily A Tier. Cracking up Golden Mystery Boxes also gets me existed too. I think that trinkets are also quite underrated, especially the Fairy one for Skull Cavern dives + Parrot. Max rank Parrot combined with Monster Musk is a real money maker.

I'd personally rank the golden mystery boxes higher because I can trade them for magic rock candy. They aren't super valuable to me outside of that, compared with the prismatic shards which are still useful for enchantments for me. So if I'm buying magic rock candy, I'm happy to get pretty easily from the mystery boxes.
Kind of related - I don't think you mentioned that mystic syrup can also be traded at the raccoon shop for fairy dust. I'm finding this to be very useful for my end game money making! I use them on my casks after 28 days, instantly turning them from gold quality into iridium quality. It doesn't end up being a huge profit since mystic syrup is worth 1000g, but for ancient fruit (or anything more expensive than that) it is still a net profit, and I can age twice as much wine since it cuts the processing time in half

Your videos are phenomenal. Growing a UA-cam channel can be a slog sometimes, for sure, but my hope is that you stick with it and keep up the exemplary work. A Stardew Valley channel not only needs interesting content, but also enthusiasm and charm; all three of these you have in spades. And eventually Haunted Chocolatier will release, and I'd hope you'd be the go-to channel when it does.
Could I make a video request? This is something I've given a lot of thought toward, and I'd really enjoy your take. "What I'd Want in Stardew Valley Update 1.7".
In my played experience, I feel like there is little to do in the game once you become sufficiently rich. You can always create challenges for yourself, or spend time decorating your farm, but I'd prefer something more, something heftier. My general strategy is to get a greenhouse, fill it with ancient fruit, and then get absurdly rich; usually just one or two harvests of this nets me more money than I'll ever really need. Add that to the money I get from my pig-truffle farm, the pineapple plantation I have on Ginger Island, and the fairy rose honey I've set up, and I am suddenly Pelican town's eccentric millionaire. From the start of my file to this "eccentric millionaire" point, it is usually about two weeks of playing.
So, what would I want for future updates? I'd want a collection of new possibilities opened for the super-rich. Say, the first time a player makes 10 million, the back-half of the game opens up:
    - Upon making a donation of 5,000,000 to Robin, she can afford to hire a crew and build more things for you, all for a very high price. An expansion on her home, a second floor perhaps? Maybe new buildings in town? Or perhaps you can pay her to renovate the Wizard's tower...
    - Upon having his tower renovated, the Wizard will be happy to provide his services... all for a steep price, of course. Magic shoes that provide a permanent speed boost? A time totem, that allows you to pause time altogether (including stopping townsfolk in their tracks) for five real world minutes? A luck totem, that maxes out your luck for the next day? Perhaps an egg for a new magical creature for your farm? Or he could transform your horse into a unicorn, giving it new abilities?
    - Expanding on Robin's new operation, perhaps for a steep price she can build an elevator system in the Skull Cavern. Say, for every five levels opened up, five million bucks.
    - Perhaps you can purchase a submarine yourself, like the one from the Night Market? For a high price you can access the ocean floor (and perhaps new fish?) whenever you like.
I could keep coming up with ideas. My point being, I'd love to have something to do with all of that money, and some of these things would be really exciting, I think!

      @Kitadollx  Місяць тому +2

Thank you so much! That really means a lot 😊
Right now I've got more ideas than time, so hopefully I can keep it up for a while, and yeah, I'm really looking forward to Haunted Chocolatier too!
I'm always open to requests, and this is a great idea. So often, people try so hard to earn as much money as possible, but after a point, there really isn't much to do with it. I've toyed with similar concepts in the past, but I'll definitely give this some more thought. It may take a while, and no guarantees, but it's going on the list for sure.
Thank you so much for watching, and for the great comment 💕

    (S-tier) Mystic Tree Seed - probably A-tier
IMO, Golden Chickens blow every other Post-Perfection Endgame money-making strategy out of the water (see the reply for why, hit the character limit and had to put some stuff in a reply), including harvesting mushroom logs. eventually, all mushroom logs should be phased out entirely unless you happen to like harvesting them for the sake of it. It's the middle-to-late-game use-case of helping the player to afford Perfection as a supplement to or potentially even replacement for traditional strategies like ancient fruit kegs that keeps this in A-tier.
Another thing that keeps the mystic tree seed solidly in A-tier even for the super late endgame after you're done with (or maybe never used depending on how the middle game math shakes out idk) mushroom logs is that you can use mystic syrup as an additional source of fairy dust via the Racoon Shop. this transforms the entire non-Farm map from being useless dead space into a potential Fairy Dust and Moss farm (tapped mystic trees + green rain trees within the correct radius). while this new use case for mystic trees is pretty good, you could already get all the Fairy Dust you could ever need via growing Fairy Rose on your regular Farm + the Ginger Island Farm, making me lean towards A-tier over S-tier. but idk you could make a case for S-tier. more fairy dust is always better than less right, and 1.6 actually adds some amazing uses for fairy dust outlined below:
    - heavy furnaces
    - 5.5 bars per dust, amazing
    - tappers
    - quickly getting mystic syrup from tapped mystic trees to craft treasure totems to get 500 qi beans in one day for qi's crop quest
    - quickly getting sap from tapped mahogany trees for crafting statue of blessings, trap bobbers
    - deconstructors
    - quickly getting hardwood from cork bobbers at willy's shop to craft treasure totems to get 500 qi beans in one day for qi's crop quest
    - quickly getting fiber from grass starter at Pierre's to craft tree fertilizer for tiling the world with mystic trees + green rain trees to generate 750 moss / year to craft treasure totems to get 500 qi beans in one day for qi's crop quest
    - NEVER crystalariums
    - there's almost never a good reason to use fairy dust on crystalariums, left as an exercise to the reader why. maybe im wrong on this idk.
    ---
    (A-tier) Golden Animal Crackers - easily S-tier
permanently doubles the money output of the already clear One True Endgame Moneymaker: Golden Chickens, at no recurring space, time, or resource cost
    ---
    (B-tier) Treasure Totems - easily S-tier
this item trivializes the most labor intensive Qi quest, Qi's Crop, as long as you can generate 750 moss / year, by letting you get all 500 beans in a single day, easily completing the quest before the next monday with no fertilizer or Agriculturist profession change needed. more details in the reply b/c character limit.
    ---
    (B-tier) Heavy Furnace - easily S-tier
Uses 5.5x less fairy dust than regular furnaces for the same quantity of bars output. You can make so many bars so quickly it's insane. E.g., you can build 137 crystalariums, enough to fill a Big Shed, using like 200 fairy dust and a single heavy furnace + hopper.
    ---
(C-tier) Golden Mystery Boxes - easily at least A-tier, probably S-tier
allows magic rock candy to be farmed at a rate greater than ~1.08 per week, allowing it to finally be usable instead of something so ultra rare that it should be hoarded for some yet-to-be-discovered or yet-to-exist-version-of-stardew use-case.
i haven't calculated whether golden mystery boxes, golden fishing treasure chests, or skull cavern treasure rooms or something else is the best way to get auto-petters on a non-Joja-Warehouse file now but this could be the deciding factor that puts it into S-tier vs A-tier depending on how the math works out
this is also a competitor for best way to get golden animal crackers up there with treasure totems and golden fishing chests, have to look into the math on this as well
    ---
    (C-tier) Golden Treasure Chest - maybe B-tier
main reason i think this deserves B-tier is because stardrop tea is so OP and this is the only way to farm it, but how good this is depends on the exact drop rates. i haven't done the math yet. maybe C-tier is right.
maybe stardrop tea isn't actually OP. but kind of necessary if you're trying to yoink all the spouse portraits from the Traveling Cart and then Dark Shrine of Memory people on a tight time table... not that I'm planning to do that or anything.
    ---
    (C-tier) Double Gems - easily D-tier
I feel like this belongs in D-tier because it doesn't add any new functionality or significant money making opportunities. If you need more gems just use crystalariums. I've never crunched the numbers on selling gems for money but I've always been under the impression that it's not a great source of money in any phase of the game. If I'm wrong about that I could see the spot in C-tier.
    ---
    (D-tier) Anvil - probably C-tier
at least there's some trinket re-roll mechanic other than getting new ones from scratch. This feature is clearly better existing than not existing, which is why I'd say C-tier. You cannot necessarily make as strong a case for the mini forge and double gems as neither actually adds any new functionality, and kind of minimal convenience / money-making potential as well.
    ---
    (D-tier) Statue of Blessings - easily C-tier
it might be easier to craft than u think
    - you can get 999 fiber with 100 fairy dust and 10K gold spent on grass starter at pierre's
    - u can also use this method to get fiber for EZ tree fertilizer
    - you can get 999 sap from ~182 fairy dust on a tapped mahogany tree
    - ofc 999 stone is EZ from robin at both Year 1 and 2 prices
    - 333 moss is EZ if u set up the industrial level moss farm that you're going to need to generate enough treasure totems to handle the Qi's Crop quest.
the 1/7 chance of +1 Luck is like a third lucky ring u get to wear the whole day. can be nice for things like:
    - staircase through the skull cavern to farm treasure rooms
    - hit the Casino to get all those sweet wallpapers
    - pan for lucky rings at the dig site
    - probably a bunch of other things
the 1/7 chance of +0.5 speed is like the cherry on top that must be the deciding factor here between C-tier and D-tier

    • @mrwiggly705
      @mrwiggly705 Місяць тому +1

Why golden chickens are the One True Endgame Moneymaker
Before unlocking golden chickens, every available method for generating gold requires a large in-game time investment to sustain it. You're constantly watering plants, harvesting moss logs, filling and emptying kegs, beehives, mayonnaise machines, dehydrators, etc. If u ever decide you want to not spend all day interacting with machines, too bad. If you ever stop working, the money stops flowing. This isn't the endgame Grandpa wanted for us. You're supposed to be able to retire and still be rich.
Now people might think at first that if you've bought the Return Scepter, all the house and town upgrades, the obelisks, and the golden clock, then there's nothing left to spend money on and you might as well retire the file / start a new farm. However after continuing my file Post-Perfection and setting up golden chickens I've found that there are applications for potentially around 20-50 million more gold and counting. Mostly things like the ability to drop 3M on the amount of stone, gold ore, and coal needed to build a Big Shed full of 137 crystalariums overnight, or 2M total on 100 butterfly powder from Krobus' shop to get the blue item for Qi's Prismatic Grange b/c why tf not you're just that rich and the Saloon cola machine is tedious.
That's the basic case for switching to golden chickens + auto petters + auto grabbers + heaters + silos + golden animal crackers. You make over 5 million gold per week with around 30 fully upgraded and fully occupied coops. And forget about it if you had 60 coops, or even 100. The best part is all you have to do daily is put hay in the silo every morning. Then occasionally you have to make a hay run to Marnie's. Otherwise you can kick back and collect your eggs essentially whenever you feel like it; each individual Auto-Grabber you put in each coop can hold around ten in-game years worth of maxed out coop production.
Another thing to be aware of is that the Coopmaster profession actually has an effect on the quality of eggs that chickens generate. so not just incubation time saved there. careful when ur selling wine w/ Artisan or growing Qi crops with Agriculturist that you switch back to Coopmaster at the Statue of Uncertainty as soon as u can to keep those golden eggs as high quality as possible. cant recall how much you lose vs gain w/ this exactly but might as well do it.
      ---
The Secret to Qi's Crop in Six Days: 750 Moss/Year
with something like 50 treasure totems, you should be able to get all 500 qi beans in a single day, plant them on the next day, and ship all 500 fruit before the next monday without any fertilizer or the Agriculturist profession needed at all.
and 50 treasure totems are a lot easier to get than you would think.
it's all about setting up a gigantic moss farm. getting the hardwood and mystic syrup is actually the easy part
      - one fairy dust on a deconstructor (+ hopper for bulk deconstructing) + cork bobber from willy's shop to get 5 hardwood
      - one fairy dust on a tapped mystic tree to get one mystic syrup
here's the math for how I got the 750 moss/year number
my rough understanding of the game code leads me to hypothesize (i have not tested this yet) that if you use treasure totems on the Farm during Spring, Summer or Fall (NOT winter) then you should need 44 totems to get 500 qi beans on average. During winter, you should be able to get 500 qi beans from 55 totems placed in the Desert. these should be the optimal locations; I predict you'll need more treasure totems to get the same number of Qi beans (on average) in any other location.
warning: make sure you DO NOT have the Archaeologist enchantment on your hoe as that dramatically increases the chance of getting an artifact while dramatically decreasing the chance of getting Qi Beans. i believe the Generous enchantment is fine.
There's 10 Qi quests. Two different ones are randomly selected each Monday. This means that any one of the 10 quests has as 20% chance of showing up each week. Qi's Crop is unique in that it can only show up Mon 1 or Mon 8 (this means by the way that on Mon 15 and Mon 22 each of the 9 possible remaining quests has a 2/9 chance of showing up instead of its normal 2/10 chance on Mon 1 and Mon 8). Also Qi's Crop will not show up Mon 8 if you have not completed Qi's Crop from Mon 1 yet. Therefore you have to get the first Qi's Crop done within a single week if you want a chance of getting it twice in one month. Given there's a 20% chance of Qi's Crop showing up on Mon 1 or Mon 8 each month of the year, assuming you complete it in one week, that's 8 independent chances to get Qi's Crop every year. Times the 20% chance of Qi's Crop showing up in the first place on any given Mon 1 or Mon 8, means that you'll have to complete 1.6 Qi's Crop quests / year on average.
That means on average, with 75% of the time being 44-totem non-winter, and 25% of the time being 55-totem winter, you'll need 47 totems, that's 470 moss, times 1.6 quest completions per year, means 750 moss / year needed in expectation.
750 moss / year is a lot of moss, and that's just the average amount you'll need to break even in the long run. You'll need even more to be able to comfortably handle those times you get 'unlucky' and Qi's Crop just keeps showing up over and over again despite it only being a 20% chance. I'm planning on having multiple thousands of moss stockpiled up to be safe.
In order to generate this much moss per year, you'll probably have to tile much of the Valley with fertilized mystic trees + green rain trees in the correct pattern (which idk what that pattern might be yet). You can also use rain totems to increase moss output dramatically when you need to temporarily juice the moss output.
You need mostly mystic trees, with enough green rain trees so that every mystic tree is within a five tile radius of a green rain tree (idk if this is exactly right, could be a six, seven, four tile radius). This will allow all mystic trees to grow moss as well.
There's a case to be made for just going all in on green rain trees for moss given that you can obtain fairy dust via other methods and green rain trees do regenerate moss slightly faster than mystic trees. It's a huge decision, committing your entire map to one tree tiling or another, so I want to spend more time thinking about this one first.
I'm thinking that the additional moss generation speed you get from having every single tree be a green rain tree is so slight, combined with the fact that you can juice the generation rate if you really need to by spamming rain totems, means probably the tapped mystic tree + sparse green rain tree tiling is the way to go
whatever you do, after looking at the games code recently, make sure to fertilize all trees before they reach maturity! because there's no way to add fertilizer to them after that, and I'm pretty sure that trees 'remember' their fertilization status into adulthood and it actually affects the moss regrowth time if ur trees are fertilized and as I said there's no way to go back or even check whether or not they were fertilized as youths so FERTILIZE ALL TREES BEFORE THEY REACH MATURITY
      ---
You can get 15K+ mastery points in a single day. Idk how early exactly this strat is accessible.
Basically just diving the skull cavern with the right resources / preparation to bomb iridium nodes. Jade staircases to go as deep as possible (200ish idk i dont have a hard number here but surely past 100) first for max iridium node occurrence, then mega bombs. 50 XP per bombed iridium node, that's huge. And you don't even have to mine it by hand or bother collecting the ore for max time efficiency. Just bomb, glance for shafts, slam staircase if no shaft. For comparison, a skill book gives 250 XP. Like literal skill books littered all over the floors of the skull cavern and u can pick them up + read them in one click (by placing a mega bomb). Easy to rack up thousands of XP rapidly.

Once again you do the Skull Cavern route dirty. The mining Mastery is WAY ahead of the other masteries imo, though a ton of my income is coming from smelting so it fits my playstyle.
If I were doing a new file I'd probably roll Mining -> Farming -> Forage -> Combat -> Fishing based on how much income they generate. Combat and Fishing don't scale as well as the others so they can be delayed. I could probably see a justification for moving Forage up, however imo the QOL offered by the Scythe and Big Furnaces outweighs the Mystic Seeds.

Esp. with the other new bait types this just seems like a waste of a bait slot. i do like the extra bobber slot though. with the addition of the fish smoker, the ability to quickly pile up high quality/high star value fish is pretty nice. Although it probably isn't worth A tier just for the cash (the fish smoker is cool but doesn't really scale all that well), I do like fishing a lot more now that I can customize my experience better.

i probably have a different perspective, but as someone who mostly tries to get perfection as the goal i work towards, the statue of blessings is a huge priority for me many of hte buffs are good enough for me to change my day for if the day isn't something like a harvest day

I used the Challenge Bait to get 3 Iridium quality of all 5 Legendary Fish. The easiest was the Angler, and the 2 hardest were the Legend and the Crimsonfish. But a very rewarding challenge!

I have truly spent millions of potential gold rerolling frog eggs at the anvil in order to get the prismatic frog. Was it worth it? Absolutely

Pls talk about the indirect buff that dino eggs got when you get that treasure book from artifact troves, the one that make artifacts triple the price

Last playthrough I rushed to get all these and, for me, none of them were really game changing. This playthrough I’ll be in no hurry.

I agree with the majority of these, but Golden Animal Crackers are lower for me as animals are not a large portion of my income. In my current game, in year two, I have a large barn and a large coop, but no plan to increase those to deluxe any time soon, and golden animal crackers don't work on pigs anyway. But this is definitely a MMV (My Mileage Varies) case, rather than "objectively this is bad" statement. With everything else, this is more or less how I felt, including the Iridium Scythe at S-tier. I don't hate my scythe as much as you do, but I do wish it could harvest all my crops, so I'm looking forward to having that again on my latest farm, where only combat remians before I can unlock Mastery. My only complaint about the Iridium Scythe is that it doesn't harvest from fruit trees. I still have to go up to all my fruit trees and shake them for their fruit.

I actually prefer farming mastery first to get access to scythe harvest. Not min-max player and played the game casually, so i dont mind harvesting without stopin the time since it was quicker in real time

Trinkets have to be S. Parrot + Fairy, and you won't die in the skull cavern, and you can easily rake in over 60k mining a day - that's insane value, especially if that isn't your goal.

S: Mystic Tree Seed, Golden Animal Crackers, Heavy Furnace
A: Statue of the Dwarf King, Trinkets, Advanced Iridium Rod
B: Iridium Scythe, Golden Treasure Chests, Challenge Bait
C: Treasure Totem, Golden Mystery Boxes, Double Gems
    D: Statue of Blessing, Anvil
    F: Mini Forge
The scythe is in B on my list because it doesn't pause the game while harvesting and only has a noticeable impact on *heavy* farming playthroughs, which are newbie playthroughs.
