I used to have a mechanism where I would mate so many cows until I had a whole hoard of them, then guided all the children to a separate room. The adults couldn't get through because it was too small enough for them but good enough for babies. Then pulled a lever and all the cows fell to their deaths where I would take my made elevator and collect all the beef.
