I’ve never heard a doctor proclaim joy in solving difficult cases and speak so respectfully of their plight . This man should be at the helm of the UK medical world. The problem is , the powers that be are not motivated by cure . It’s just not profitable. For them the income is the best outcome . Dr. Unwin is a unique glimmer of hope in a distorted corrupt world of medicine, food and politics where the main casualties are people on the ground living ordinary but difficult lives with various ailments.

Dr unwin has a twitter post from the health professionals council threatening to revoke his practice because he says that diabetes can be reversed.
He should be at top, but the top is corrupted for the time being.

Yeah Dr Unwin is a trailblazer And has worked very hard to get people's attention to this. Most of the doctors I know would really like to actually help people, but they just aren't taught the right things. So they have the right intentions, but because they weren't taught it in medical school or residency, they don't think that it could possibly be the right treatment. However, many people are coming around to realize that we've all been scammed

@@anthonychaffeemd Trailblazer ?- Yes - so it would seem . MInd you , I have been following you for a while and you have made an impressive and enormous contribution to "turning the ship around". On a personal level, most doctors are fine - but they are terrified of prescribing outside the guidelines. I recently became of aware that tobacco companies owned the big food brands. If this is true there is a lot of money tied up here to resist change. (read D.Schon 1971 on Dynamic Conservatism) The vested interests in keeping a particular narrative going in terms of nutrition , exercise etc suits the commercial world (food , drugs, private medicine) but not the human health world. If this vested interest is true, you will have a huge struggle in front of you but you seem to have a robust but gentle character to tackle whatever is thrown at you in a highly diplomatic way. Well done indeed. I wish you (and your like-minded colleagues) every success. Thanks for your reply - delightful to hear from you. ps I need to order some rib-eye. - runnng low

Cysts in the pancreas are very common. I had one show up on an ultrasound for kidney issues and now I’m waiting to see a specialist. But I was encouraged by my anti-aging doctor (I’m 73) that these cysts are quite common. He said it’s probably not cancer, and if it is, it’s being caught early. If your doctor is talking about potential removal of an essential organ, get a second opinion. Try not to let fear overwhelm you-be hopeful! May God give you faith to get through this!❤️

That is great to hear that you are giving it a try! Just leave by example in your personal circles and community! If you are able to influence others in your work to get the hospice patients on a low carbohydrate, high fat meat-based diet or even a full-on carnivore diet, it would do wonders for the patients and everyone who work there. Take a look at my interview with Hal Cranmer who has a few nursing home facilities in Phoenix. He has been putting people on keto / carnivore and rehabilitating them to the degree of getting severe Alzheimer's patients back living at home independently. It's pretty amazing. This interview is a great source of optimism for me. I was diagnosed Type 2 diabetes in 2017 and will always be grateful to my GP who gave me a blood glucose monitor and suggested I tried to see if I could control my blood sugar with diet because the meds are not too nice.
I soon realised that the standard advice was as stupid in outcome as it seemed when I first read it. I cut out all starches completely and my blood sugar and weight both came down in a matter of weeks. I went from somewhere over 110 kgs to 85 kgs and fasting blood sugar from 11.2 to 5.0 in just three months. The resulty were unbelievably fast to come through.
To discover now that the GP expert comes from about 10 minutes away from where I last lived in the UK is a pleasant surprise.
At lease I can now see a gleam of light growing all the more. It will take a lot of effort to make the profession wake up to what they should be doing but I do believe it is possible. The savings for governments and insurance companies are massive.
The excuse that patients are too weak willed to follow a strict diet so just medicate them is really beyond the pale.

I've gone carnivore myself, and it is producing wonderful results, very similar to what each of the interviewees say. But I really worry about the effects an extensive popular adoption of this lifestyle would have on the country's (world's) economy. Right now, the diet is considered just a fad and 99% of all health, nutrition and medical "experts" are poo-pooing the idea, saying how bad it is for an individual to adopt such a thing. But it seems to be snowballing, and a tipping point could eventually be reached where the bottom lines of major facets of our economy would begin to suffer.
I have no doubt that the farmers could ramp up their cattle and other meat/egg production to meet demand, and that slaughter houses and meat packers could do the same. But what about the rest of Big Agriculture? It would collapse -no market for their products. And they are not the only ones. Big Medicine, Big Pharma, Big Grocery, Big Restaurant, Big Food Processors, Big Transportation, Big Insurance and all the associated industrial and financial support for these activities would suffer.
By the Law of Supply and Demand, meat prices would naturally rise until a balance was reached. The population, seeing the huge health benefits and savings that result from the lifestyle would pay the price and continue on as long as the economy allowed them to afford it. But millions of people whose livelyhoods depend on jobs in the above industries would be laid off. Bankruptcies would be rampant, both for individuals and companies. The lobbyists would scream at and throw money to state and federal legislatures seeking laws that would bring back their businesses and ill-gottten profits.
How would society handle such a situation? Would meat become illegal? Would it be taxed out the yazoo? Would there be a Great Depression?
Maybe it would be to the benefit of the enlightened to just quietly buy our meat and let it go - stop evangelizing (even though we can see the suffering all around us). Is the disease better than the cure? Just a thought.

If you are diabetic and taking medications then you need be very careful with the balance of food and medication you are taking in, so you will need the help of your doctor or diabetes nurse. As far as normal metabolism without medical issues or medications though that will affect your blood sugar, if you eat carbohydrates it will spike your insulin and then crash your blood sugar down, this is called reactive hypoglycemia. So the thing to do is get rid of carbs completely and then you will start to make your own carbohydrates once you're insulin level is down low enough. So just wake up in the morning before you have broken your fast, and only eat meat, eggs, and animal protein and fat for the day and you should transition fairly smoothly over the next few days without any crashes. Any issues though, you can always come back to doing what you were doing before and get similar results. Good luck with it!

    QUESTION
I donate whole blood often, evey 8 to 10 weeks. Is there any information comparing A1c vs when blood donations occur?
One extra reason i donate is to force my body to make new red blood cells. Ones not full of sticky glucose. So i was wondering if anyone has looked into that.

Hello dr chafee,i think i dont get enough fat, i mean i dont feel bad or smth but i think i can feel better plus i definetly take more protein then fat. My stool is kinda dry too and guys like dr ken berry talk about a 2:1 fat to protein ratio, but as someone who eats 200-300 gramms or protein a day, how can i ever then eat 400-600 gramms of fats???? Any tips would be highly appreciated

    • @anthonychaffeemd
      @anthonychaffeemd  5 місяців тому +2

I think that thing there would be to reduce the amount of grams of protein you need and increase fat. That many grams of protein probably aren't required for your amino acid needs, so they would be used more for energy. You want to use fat for energy, not protein. So might be a good idea to reduce the amount of protein you are getting and up the fat a little bit as opposed to massively like you would have to there. It's not necessarily the ratio that matters, more that you need enough protein to make all the molecules or DNA codes for and the building blocks of your body, and you need enough fat both for a structural components and for your energy. That generally works out to be one or two grams of fat every one gram of protein required, but it's different for everyone. Going by your stools is a good way to know if you're getting as much fat as your body wants though

I've remitted my diabetes, gone off BP drug, waist went from 44" to 36" and weight from 80kg down to 60kg without even trying. My sleep quality has improved, my chin hairs are a lot finer now, and my hair is less grey that it was. The benefits have been amazing and the solution was so simple. However, when I saw the diabetes dietician she told me I wasn't eating enough carbs. I decided to stick with what I was doing and now I'm eating even less carbs. Having to get smaller clothes has been a bit of a nuisance, but thankfully I've managed to get a lot of second hand tops at the op shop. And my homemade house dresses and nighties I've been able to take them in so that they don't swim on me too badly.

It’s crazy and everything they say are the things that I’ve been physically battling. A little bit of depression this last year I haven’t had that in a bazillion years, but my nutrition was so crazy. I didn’t know what to do. I went vegan and oops that didn’t work. Depressed, brain fog felt horrible body pains couldn’t hardly function to save my life. I believe this is what it’s gonna save my life. Now I can hopefully start my business. Travel the world. Hopefully adopt and foster a bunch of kids! 50 years in the making to be healed, wow taking too long! God bless all of us for healing! I’m so grateful for this, Community!

@@annwheeler1658 Ann thank you for your message. My experience has been completely positive and transformative is probably the most accurate description. Realising the ‘food’ I’ve always loved eating and drinking was in fact poisoning me was a real landmark moment which I adopted as my mantra for the 1st 6 months or so meaning if I started craving it or even just tempted I would mentally associate it as poison. Example - orange cake - poison. Beer - poison. Mash potato - poison. That mindset absolutely helped to the point I look at such things and they no longer register. The ailments you mentioned are tough as but am confident if you give 6-12 months on Lion level ie ruminant meat salt & water you’ll be in amazing health comparatively before you realise it. When you reach that end point after so many decades of pain its like being reborn.
Go for it. All the best.

And one of the promises within that oath is "first, do no harm" (or "primum non nocere," the Latin translation from the original Greek.). And yet, in prescribing lifelong medication for patients, instead of telling them the truth, most doctors go directly against their oath. 22 minutes in & this wonderful man declares that he goes against the guidelines in prescribing the elimination of carbs, and the wearing of continuous blood glucose monitors to enable his patients to check their skyrocketing blood sugar levels. Initially it wasn’t easy.
I was determined from the outset to do strict Lion version of carnivore for 3 months before reassessing.
That turned out to benefit me massively in every way with most of my achievements within the first 6 weeks as at that point I was no longer on any medications with blood pressure reducing to normal.
Now, I mainly do Lion, but some (25% of the time) carnivore.
It is totally life changing and very empowering. My thinking is so much clearer and faster with increased confidence and feel much more relaxed.
It also fixed multi decade thyroid disfunction that I didn’t previously understand how important it was.
Once I decided to take my health into my hands the rest just fell into place.

The reason I watch your videos, Dr. Chaffee, is for information and today was probably the best video I’ve seen! Dr. Unwin is a kind, highly intelligent, compassionate man who is wonderful interview.
    Thank you!
