    Drill to the Core
    Manage a team of miners, carriers, and guards through hazardous missions to extract minerals and power the drill platform. With indirect unit control, you have to plan your descent carefully and manage your resources wisely - every decision counts as you race against time to prevent climate collapse!
    Deploy Your Defenses
    Each night, aliens will attack the drill platform. Strategically fortify the drilling zone with turrets and upgrade your defenses to repel increasingly monstrous threats! Experiment with turret layouts to maximize their effectiveness, and incorporate new technologies you discover during the run.
    Develop New Strategies
    Every mission is unique with randomized monsters, restrictions, and technologies you will have at your disposal. Adapt swiftly and allocate your resources wisely. Successful missions unlock new mechanics and upgrades. Plan your approach carefully at the start of each mission and choose the right workers, buildings, and turrets for the job!

    Something I feel is being desperately overlooked in terms of efficiency is the terrible travel time of your workers. I feel like focusing entirely on one side of the shaft per cycle would be way more efficient. Having them travel left to right to left to right you are losing a substantial amount of "work" time out of them. Miners specifically, as the carriers go up and back down anyways. For example the first time you go down in a new hole spend the entire time before attack on the left side, then after attack clear out the right side, then do any odds and ends you missed before you drop down if there is anything of value. it looks like 25% or more of your time is spent just traveling. Need to focus more.

      Carriers go up and down unless you have a horizontal wall right in the middle of the stage, in which case you have to wait a substantial time for them to collect the leftovers at the end of a stage :D

      Agreed! miner/driller pathfinding/work prioritizing is horrible. You definitely need to work in one general area at the time. It was painful to watch a miner drill out a block, ignore the tagged block right next to it to travel across the cave to mine out another random block..

      Yeah micro is a big deal. It is possible to mine during the nightime raids with the pause button and proper micro

    The towers look MUCH stronger than the equivalent cost sunk into a building on the platform - and don’t use up a limited slot. The advantage of the active abilities is they can target anywhere, but that doesn’t really compensate the DPS difference - the grenade tower was putting out absolutely huge amounts of aoe DPS

    Some thoughts on the defense part:
    - you should treat each side of the shaft as a seperate lane. Very few weapons can even reach the other lane. And those that do, usually only can fire if the target is perfectly level with them.
    Some shorter ranged weapons have issues reaching even the middle. So maybe 3-5 lanes makes even more sense?
    - similarly, treat each "layer" as as a separate thing. Very few weapons have the range to shoot into other layers. And if I read that drilling depth right, the distances between layers will only increase (currently 50, soon 100)
    - at the bottom, I think you want shorter range, consitent, higher firepower, single target. Enemies that get down there won't fly past your guns. They stay in your range until you or they are dead. Harassing them early means little, because they stick in your range anyway.
    What comes down there will either be split up (because it was way faster then the rest) or very tough (to have survived the AoE gauntlet before). And early game, enemy numbers just are lower, so the lower RoF will not be an issue
    - Rocket Launcher seems to be a rare, long range, multi lane and multi layer harassing weapon. It should probably go more towards the middle. So it can use it's range to harass incomming foes and foes that ran past them
    - the shield is really good for clumping up enemies for AoE weapons. But the downside is that it also throws a big wave on the next layer when it breaks. So ideally the next layer should be able to shoot them too (missile launchers maybe?). But by the 2nd next layer they should have them spread out again
    Other thoughts:
    - that random deletion thing needs a buff. Either it needs 5-10 times the fire rate, needs to be a targetable ability, prefer tiles you marked for mining or even just prefer lower tiles (so it avoids dropping/freeing anything on your workers)
    - you never got the upgrade that allows your workers to heal. Then wondered why they were suddenly dying to spawns. You might not even have to fear fire if they can heal.
    - yes, laser station was definitely a random choice. I guess meta is permanent unlock?

    All that idle time you spent waiting to collect those last resources you could have had your miners drill out a straight line to maximize efficiency of their ingress\egress into the shaft instead of them having to navigate around the maze you created lol food for thought =]

    When you are sending your drillers to work, you need to focus drilling one side so your workers are not wasting time moving back and forward when you set them to focus on eggs. It means your reduce the travel time and drillers have more time to drill. Then you can focus on getting more carriers and less guards as your drills will always destroy eggs before they spawn.

    You can individually retreat minions back to the core by mousing over them and tapping R. Bear in mind (pun unintended) that workers send up that way dont go back into the mines again on that day. but it is useful when all spawners are killed and everything is mined up and all thats left is work for the carriers. makes it easier for boosting abilites. But in all honesty, the only one worth is the barkeeper building.
    Mad respect for clearing diff 3 on first try! It took me several runs to do that. either get screwed by RNG or messing up by using towers and buildings not worth using (sadly there are still quite a few of those in the game) Still now that i had all meta upgrades and used all towers and buildings once, i still fail this difficulty thanks to RNG and new ballance updates quite regularly. i would say you got quite a blessed run here. Still, you can be proud of the accopmplishment.

    You know you can retreat individual workers by pressing R on them, rather than holding R for all of them? You can actually have quite a fun night time game of dodge the worm if you are careful. But at a minimum, it lets you get carriers near the drill to complete their run, because you can retreat the workers at the bottom of the mine first.

    this game still need a lot of QOL and balancing to be more fun.
    like the fact that core master is like level 4 or 5 instead of 3.
    the factory that should auto add iron to inventory.
    so player can focus on other thing like manage underground mine avoiding lava block/kill monster that spawn every few second.
    it's fun game but still leave a lot to be desire.

    I like the game but it desperately needs a save anywhere option. Life never lets me play for very long at a time.

      I absolutely agree, I want to play as deep as possible, but there is no way to do it at once
