Why people believe that ballistic missile interception is even possible is beyond me. This entire proposition is taken purely on faith. There is no evidence that ballistic missile interception is possible. There are no tests that conclusive prove such a thing. Most of the tests of ballistic missile interception are just paper and pen exercises where a theoretical calculation problem is done. A incomplete trajectory is fed into a computer to see if the computer can solve for the correct complete trajectory. In terms of actual kinetic interceptions only a handful of these have every been done by China, Russia and the US combined (in fact China is the first country to successfully do this). These tests also don't prove anything because they cheat on solving the problem. The interceptions are achieved by passing a perfect set of tracking information for the launch missile to a perfectly placed and unimpeded missile interceptor to perform the interception. This is like throwing two balls in the air in perfect coordination with each other so that they collide with each other in the air. This is far from reality where missiles are launched completely uncooperatively to the interceptor. The timing and trajectories are all total surprises. The missile will be fired in the trajectory that is the most difficult to reach and detect for the interceptor. Predicting a trajectory from low quality radar readings from many thousand of kilometers away will result in very inaccurate predictions with very little chance of interception. Then there are also many simple effective tricks to impede interceptors. Radar jamming works easily on the giant and obvious radars used for missile defense. Missiles carrying a large number of dummy warhead will easily overwhelm existing interceptor systems. The US has an interceptor system of several hundred missiles covering a perimeter that stretches many thousands of km. A single ballistic missile can carry upwards of several dozen of warheads only one of which has to be real. If we spread all these warheads only over a particular 100km stretch there are simply not enough interceptor missiles covering that small stretch to counter so many warheads. Ballistic missile interception has never been realistic. It has always just been propaganda/psychological warfare on the common people and pork barrel for the elites.

@Anurag Chakraborty It is necessary to note that democracy works best in countries that have a homogeneous populations like the ones you have mentioned. On the other hand, India is a very different case and a rather unique one at that. We have multiplicity of religions, languages and what not. While we may take misplaced pride in the "unity in diversity", it has been very evident that this very diversity has acted as a hinderance to development, mainly because of political parties that tend to invest their resources in wooing different communities to stay in power, rather than planning for development. In other words, we as a nation are wasting an awful lot of resources on elections and politics when development should have been the priority. To this extent, I agree with @Mayur Kanth that democracy has not been very suitable for India, a country with diversity of humongous proportions.
I am a regular watcher of your channel, but this is my first comment. At the outset, thank you for simplifying news content in a no non-sense manner and providing an accurate factual position and leaving it to audience for forming their own perception. On this specific edition of cut the clutter, it is my opinion that China is doing a comprehensive 360 degree strengthening, on sea/land, space and definitely the notion of US being the all powerful nation is going to get turned around. India, should keep its strategic alliances broad and invest deeply in R&D for defence.
But all of the best Indian talents are going to the US and other developed western countries. First step should be motivate them to work in India. Only then we can think about competing with China.

Now if you are looking at debt gdp ratio US has 105 percent but there are ton of countries higher than Japan being thw highest at 237 percent. @ ThePrint: China has hypersonic missiles for some years already, among them being DF17 & DF41 Mach10 and above missiles etc making use of scramjet and surfing and varying their flight path near the edge of atmosphere upon re-entry. They have been successfully launched and deployed while the USA recently FAILED in launching a Mach5 missile. This caused dismay in the US as it revealed that none of its missile defense systems was able to intercept DF17 and DF41. USA is playing catch up. The most recent test in August 2021 was a reusable space vehicle similar to the American space shuttle for future deployment for Chinese space station. China is playing catch up on this item though USA decided to forgo any future deployment of its space shuttle due to cost concern.
Df41 is a conventional ICBM and as you've heard almost all all ICBMs are hypersonic in speed, especially upon re-entry. Only DF17 and Df26 are actually hypersonic maneuverable missiles

These sources "say".Is any of it actually confirmed.What we hear and what we see are two different things. America was experiencing with hypersonic weapons decades ago,way before China or Russia ever was. A lot of china's and russias intelligence on hypersonic weaponry came from Chinese or Russian spies in America during the cold War. Hypersonic weapons are fast but its hard to keep them accurate and on target moving that fast. Also heat and friction would create a cone around the tip of the missile affecting radar and targeting systems. You are better off destroying a target with a low flying terrain hugging cruise missile than with a hypersonic missile. Hypersonic missiles are only a threat to stationary targets (military bases,islands cities) but targets that move (aircraft carriers,destroyers,submarines,aircraft,land based mobile artillery and rocket systems) a hypersonic missile can't turn on a dime. Say you launch a hypersonic missile to shoot down an aircraft. GPS only relays the position of the target to the hypersonic missile every 30 to 40 seconds. Any delay in that info of the position of the target if it slows down speeds up or changes course that missile is moving so fast it could miss by tens of miles. Even a ship changing course even a few degrees the missile will miss. A hypersonic missile has to know exactly where to be at the exact time to kill a target. It does not get that with moving targets. That is why America didn't feed too much into hypersonic weapons at the time. We tested hypersonic weapons way back then when we had no immediate need for them. We can go right back to the drawing board and bring some of the best hypersonic missiles into production if we really want to.

Hypersonic and manoeuvrability not related. China's hypersonic missiles are both hyper and can be manoeuvred. Current cruise missiles can be manouvred, but certainly not hypersonic.

To claim that the US has a very good anti ballistic missile is based on what? They never face a tough opponent like China or Russia that would test their defense in a very formidable way. Everything so far has been tested against single incoming missiles not a barrage of missiles.

I believe the HGV uses the rocket engine to fly upward, then glides downward using the gravity boost to attain Hypersonic speed. Then it uses the rocket to glide upward again possibly even to the outer atmosphere, and then it plunges again toward the earth. While doing so the Glider can use the computer on board to maneuver its flight path to elude and to avoid the shield and radars at high speeds. HGV is made with earth alloy to withstand the extreme heat.

This is far from reality where missiles are launched completely uncooperatively to the interceptor. The timing and trajectories are all total surprises. The missile will be fired in the trajectory that is the most difficult to reach and detect for the interceptor. Predicting a trajectory from low quality radar readings from many thousand of kilometers away will result in very inaccurate predictions with very little chance of interception. Then there are also many simple effective tricks to impede interceptors. Radar jamming works easily on the giant and obvious radars used for missile defense. Missiles carrying a large number of dummy warhead will easily overwhelm existing interceptor systems. The US has an interceptor system of several hundred missiles covering a perimeter that stretches many thousands of km. A single ballistic missile can carry upwards of several dozen of warheads only one of which has to be real. If we spread all these warheads only over a particular 100km stretch there are simply not enough interceptor missiles covering that small stretch to counter so many warheads.
Ballistic missile interception has never been realistic. It has always just been propaganda/psychological warfare on the common people and pork barrel for the elites.

@ ThePrint: China has hypersonic missiles for some years already, among them being DF17 & DF41 Mach10 and above missiles etc making use of scramjet and surfing and varying their flight path near the edge of atmosphere upon re-entry. They have been successfully launched and deployed while the USA recently FAILED in launching a Mach5 missile. This caused dismay in the US as it revealed that none of its missile defense systems was able to intercept DF17 and DF41. USA is playing catch up.
The most recent test in August 2021 was a reusable space vehicle similar to the American space shuttle for future deployment for Chinese space station. China is playing catch up on this item though USA decided to forgo any future deployment of its space shuttle due to cost concern.
Df41 is a conventional ICBM and as you've heard almost all all ICBMs are hypersonic in speed, especially upon re-entry. Only DF17 and Df26 are actually hypersonic maneuverable missiles

These sources "say".Is any of it actually confirmed.What we hear and what we see are two different things. America was experiencing with hypersonic weapons decades ago,way before China or Russia ever was. A lot of china's and russias intelligence on hypersonic weaponry came from Chinese or Russian spies in America during the cold War. Hypersonic weapons are fast but its hard to keep them accurate and on target moving that fast. Also heat and friction would create a cone around the tip of the missile affecting radar and targeting systems. You are better off destroying a target with a low flying terrain hugging cruise missile than with a hypersonic missile. Hypersonic missiles are only a threat to stationary targets (military bases,islands cities) but targets that move (aircraft carriers,destroyers,submarines,aircraft,land based mobile artillery and rocket systems) a hypersonic missile can't turn on a dime. Say you launch a hypersonic missile to shoot down an aircraft. GPS only relays the position of the target to the hypersonic missile every 30 to 40 seconds. Any delay in that info of the position of the target if it slows down speeds up or changes course that missile is moving so fast it could miss by tens of miles. Even a ship changing course even a few degrees the missile will miss. A hypersonic missile has to know exactly where to be at the exact time to kill a target. It does not get that with moving targets. That is why America didn't feed too much into hypersonic weapons at the time. We tested hypersonic weapons way back then when we had no immediate need for them. We can go right back to the drawing board and bring some of the best hypersonic missiles into production if we really want to.

To claim that the US has a very good anti ballistic missile is based on what? They never face a tough opponent like China or Russia that would test their defense in a very formidable way. Everything so far has been tested against single incoming missiles not a barrage of missiles.
It's not very gud, it tested with 50% success rate but 0% for hypersonic.

That is more for ending economic reliance on china and creating alternative supply chains. Military wise India has different policies.
I believe the HGV uses the rocket engine to fly upward, then glides downward using the gravity boost to attain Hypersonic speed. Then it uses the rocket to glide upward again possibly even to the outer atmosphere, and then it plunges again toward the earth. While doing so the Glider can use the computer on board to maneuver its flight path to elude and to avoid the shield and radars at high speeds. HGV is made with earth alloy to withstand the extreme heat.
Don't worry. Its no big deal. Its all hypes. They don't have such technologies. Their technologies are 30 years behind the US
