Hi @LeilaGharani ! You're undoubtably a gem👏👏👏👏 ! Just want to ask what to do when I have to use data in similar format for MoM ANALYSIS(separate sheet) and is exported from our tool called DOMO used in our business
I echo sadiq's comment. Best video ever and exactly solved my problem. You are one of the best excel teachers I have ever met and this video is very well made. I've watched it over and over again. $ Thank you coming.
Wow, thank you for this content. I'm creating a personal finance tool using multiple bank statement sources and this tutorial worked perfectly for me to combine and quickly analyze. AND I didn't have to troubleshoot a single function! Amazing.
Finally! I could not find a method or video that showed me how to successfully combine multiple Excel tabs that exceed the row limit when combined to create a pivot table until this one. Thank you and very well done video!
You might be surprised knowing that I'm the only one who knows how to use power query in my organization, It really changed everything, I teach them how to use it, and all of that is because of you, Leila ❤ thank you very much, you are a very good person. BTW I'm happy that I knew both methods before watching this video.
I was trying to understand this last week through other tutorials. But you made it look so simple. The simple examples you use for the explanation make your methods unique
Thanks, Leila. You are batting 1000. I have never watched one of your videos that wasted any of my time. For me and my students, you are the "go-to" person for Excel training on UA-cam.
Thank you! I used method 1 to solve a huge problem, an over 1,000,000 rows problem. I am pulling together a month's worth of data and it gives me over 1 millions rows, which Excel can't handle in a single sheet. So I created 2 sheets (with about 700k rows on each). But I needed to combine the data to analyze and give to my customers. Method 1 saved me. Thank you!
If there was an option to hit the "Like" button multiple times I would have done that coz one time is not enough for this wonderful piece of art! Thanks a ton Leila!
What I love about your videos is 1. Presentation is excellent and very easy to understand 2. Each minute is informative and there is no time wasting . It's power packed , simple and straight to point. I can understand the time and effort it takes to create a concise video. Thank you for your video and effort taken. It's so enjoyable to watch your videos.
Liked both methods and what I love most is, I get new ideas through your demos, which helps me a lot in my work! Thank you Leila for all your support! God bless!
Very useful, this is what I do in Tableau, I didn't know this was possible in Excel. Excel will never be redundant. Your videos are very useful and easy to learn, thanks!
My monthly data is so huge that I'm required to split it into two sheets (1st to 15th and then 16th to end of the month). I was searching since past so many days a method to create a pivot from multiple sheets and today came across your video... I usually don't comment on UA-cam videos... but I couldn't hold myself from expressing my APPRECIATION and GRATITUDE towards this video. Thank you for sharing this wonderful method/trick.... God bless you! Is there a method where we can create a connection between different workbooks too?
The method one saved my life ! when i saw this comments like this, i thought that they were exaggerating. HOWEVER, honestly, with all my hearth, it saved my hours when i was dealing with huge amount of data ! Best regards.

I can’t tell you how useful this tutorial was as I was able to do this in a few mins whilst before that I was a little confused with the consolidation part!! Immensely useful and thank you so much for creating such useful videos!! ❤
Got to tell you, I love your videos. Been watching them for years. You're my go-to for Excel reference. By the way, my choice of preference is method 2; primarily because I like to use databases. Thank you very much for your lessons.

@@LeilaGharani Ok totally fan girl-ing right now! I seriously love your content. As I'm typing this, I see you posted another video on Pivot Tables, so excuse me while I go watch that one!

Excellent video! Very helpful! May I ask, however, why at around 4:05, do you create a "connection" before you append the tables? What is a "Connection"?
leila, its not easy first time, but i have put in the hours and i have followed, now practice. thanks so much, amazing how you able to help people you even never see
A great tutorial, leaned a lot on method 1 (instead of c&p into one table Which I did so far). How could both scnearios be combined, when you have multiple input tabs and the need to enrich data ? The data model allows a relationship to a table, but not to a query.
I suspect you will first need to apply your transformations (or enrichment) of the data into power query, then load your new tables as « table » into your workbook and use that as the basis for your data model.
Leila, you and this video deserve a thumbs up just by having explained the method 1, which is not commonly taught by others. Most videos I've seen so far concentrate on explain only method 2 (same column in all tables), however I just need something as you explained in the first part. Just want to thank you by this! Success!
Hi, thank you for the content. I am improving my excel skills a lot thanks to you! Quick question: I don't have the option "From sheet" on my tab and when I try to add it, it does not appear on the list. How can I add it, am I missing some step perhaps? Many thanks!
hi Leila, i really find your video very informative, and easy to follow. i tried to use the method 1, however, in my excel version, i do not have the option "Get from Sheet", i only have Get From Text/CSV, From Web, From Table/Range, Recent sources, and Existing Connection. I am using office 365, and i hope i can also use the feature From Sheet. hope you can help me with the settings. thank you.
I also had this problem. I used the get workbook option, then when selecting a workbook file I chose the same workbook and the tables were available for selection
Many thanks , I have tried method #2 in my work but when I tried to sort the column from largest to smallest it did not work is there is any reason for that ?
Hey Leila this is a great lesson. But the version I am using does not have the option you are showing under the data tab. Is there another way to merge two sheets into one query?
Hello, thank you for an excellent tutorial. I made up a dataset with three different worksheets but all with the same id number to serve as the primary key linking them. I followed the second method to create a relationship between the three worksheets. However, when I try to create a pivot table with info from the three worksheets, it pops up a message saying relationships need to be created. When I look at the data model, I see that the three sheets were recognised in the diagram view. What am I doing wrong?
This is very useful! I tried method 2, but when I tried to make the relationship, it says that the columns to relate can't be repeated in the table. I'm trying to make a pivot table from to sheets, one has records of invoice number, and the other has records of cash receipts to that invoice number. A client can make multiple payments for just un invoice, so the invoice number will be repeated in the sheet of the cash receipts. The reason I want a pivot table is because I need to do a check balance with to see if the customer paid the invoice completely. Can you please help with that? Thanks!
I also have data with repeat information in rows but master data has no repeat but relationship cannot be created u less repeat info is removed..which I am unable to do..pls help
I wish these videos gave mention to the plethora of nuisances that can arise, and btw which are equally important in the setup. In the real world things aren’t always as cookie cutter like most of these examples had me believe once- I literary thought it was me. For example, the master table must always have distinct row IDs or primary Keys in order to work. In addition, can’t simply combine any fields, it depends on which tables you’re selecting from. For example, the table data only provides the values fields (can’t select labels or will get errors), while the table master provides the header filters (can’t use it for values without involving some sort of advanced DAX formulae). Great video overall, thanks Leila!

This tutorial is so easy to understand and I was able to pull together what I needed under pressure as the step by step instructions were so clear! The only change I would make is that my table had v-look ups, that caused errors. I think I worked through them, but it would have been useful to be directed to another tutorial on how to clean up those errors. Thank you
She's amazing! I too looked up other tutorials and they just weren't cutting it. I followed her instructions and was able to make my own adjustments as needed and got my (assistant) boss the data he was looking for so he could analyze it clearly.
